Why did love happen?

Love was based on many factors.

From a physiological point of view, when meeting a potential partner, the brain will release chemicals such as Dopamine, Adrenaline, and Serotonin, stimulating excitement, pleasure, and happiness. This is the so-called "heartbeat" feeling.

On the psychological level, people seek recognition, understanding, and support in love. By establishing deep emotional connections with others, they satisfy the needs of belonging, security, and social connection. Among them, romantic love was a common form of love. Its core was psychological visibility, which was the understanding and recognition of a person's inner qualities. This visibility could be obtained through the "objectification of the subject's content"(feeling oneself in the eyes of others) and the "external manifestation of self-consciousness"(seeing oneself in others).

On the social level, love reflected the values of culture and society. Different cultures and social environments had different definition and expectations of love, which affected an individual's perception and experience of love.

From other aspects, common interests, similar personality traits, and shared beliefs would make both parties feel good. Friendship was related to energy and material, while love was related to genes and physical characteristics. Living space proximity, physical attractiveness, feeling that the other party likes you, similar personalities, obstacles (such as the Romeo and Juliet effect under reverse psychology), and the other party's warmth, kindness, good personality, acceptance and response to your feelings, etc., are also factors that promote love.
