The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence (also known as the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore) was a church located in the historical center of Florence, Italy. It was composed of a cathedral, a bell tower, and a baptistery. It was one of the five largest churches in the world.

It had a long history of construction. In 1296, it was rebuilt on the original site of the old church and was finally completed in 1469. It was the first great building of the Renaissance and was once the religious center of the Republic of Florence. The main body of the cathedral was a Gothic building with gorgeous interior decorations, including many murals and sculptures. The facade was made of pink, dark green, and milky white marble, which vividly expressed the classicality, elegance, and freedom that the Renaissance era respected. The Baptismal Hall was an octagonal Romanesque building. It was the place where the children of Florence were baptized. Dante, Machiavelli, and other famous people were baptized here. The three bronze doors of the Baptismal Hall were engraved with bronze embossed from the Old Covenant. Two of them were made by Giberti and were praised by Michelangelo as the "Gates of Heaven."

There was also a museum on the back of the cathedral, which was officially completed in 1891. It was mainly used to collect sculptures of the ancient San Reprata Church and the current Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Baptism Church, the Giotto Bell Tower, and some important architectural components.
