Fred Astaire
Fred Astaire (May 10, 1899-June 22, 1987) was a multi-talented American actor, dancer, theater artist, choreographer, and singer. His acting career lasted 76 years, during which he participated in 31 musical performances. He partnered with Ginger Rogues in ten movies, and their collaboration was impressive. It was the most classic combination of his dance career. Astaire was extremely talented in dance and was known for his keen sense of rhythm, creativity, and relentless perfectionist. He had performed in many of Hollywood's classic musics, such as Tall Hat (1935), Swinging Time (1936), and Let's Dance (1937) with Ginger Roger. He also gained fame in films such as The Holiday Inn (1942), The Easter Parade (1948), Band Carriage (1953), Funny Face (1957), and Stockings (1957). He received many honors, including the 22nd Academy Awards Honorary Award in 1950, the American Film Association Lifetime Achievement Award in 1981, and the Oscar Honorary Award, Emmy Award, British Film Academy Award, Golden Globes, and Grammys. In addition, he was honored by the Film Society of Lincoln Center in 1973, received an honorary award from the Kennedy Center in 1978, was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 1989, was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960, and was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame in 1972.
