Race Against Time
"Race Against Time" was a popular song sung by Chen Chusheng (from the album "Chen Chusheng's Singles Collection", released in January 2013). It was also an essay written by Lin Qingxuan, a Chinese writer from Taiwan (the essay was selected for the China People's Education edition and the Beijing Normal University edition of primary school language textbooks). From the content of Lin Qingxuan's prose, the author described his perception of time due to his grandmother's death when he was a child, and elaborated on the point of view that time could never return. After experiencing the grief of his grandmother's death, the author had benefited greatly from racing against time, such as racing against the sun and the northwest wind, and completing homework ahead of time. He believed that although people could never run faster than time, they could run faster than before. If they worked harder, they could even run a few steps faster. These small steps had great uses. He also said that if he wanted to teach children a truth, that was, if they kept racing against time, they could succeed. In addition, the concept of "race against time" was also reflected in other scenes, such as Hunan Firefighters racing against time to rescue the masses in the flood, takeout riders racing against time to complete orders as soon as possible, and people looking for goods on the mountain racing against time because they were worried that the weather would affect the stock of goods.
