Hufflepuff was one of the four Hogwarts Houses in the Harry Potter books, or Badger House for short. The school was known for its ability to cast spells related to food, and its dean was Pomona Sprout, a professor of Herbalism. The academy was founded by Helga Hufflepuff, whose legacy was the Hufflepuff Gold Cup. The spirit of the academy included integrity, loyalty, honesty, and fearlessness. The admission criteria were to have the quality of diligence and loyalty and treat others equally. The colors were yellow and black, and the academy's symbol was a badger. The Hufflepuff dormitory was next to the passage to the house-elf's kitchen, which was on the first floor of the basement. There were students like Ernie Macmillan and Cedric Diggory, three Ministers of Magic, and the world's most distinguished expert on magical creatures, Neet Scamander. The Sorting Hat's evaluation of Hufflepuff was that the people there were upright and loyal, and the students were stoic and honest, unafraid of hard work.
