Every time Mother's Day or Father's Day, it reminds me that our country still lacks a festival--Stepfather's Day.
If everyone should have their own festival, then Stepfather's Day should be a festival for those brave souls who use their love and caution to establish their place in a rebuilt family. That's why we have a festival in our house that we call "Bob's Day." This is our own version of Stepfather's Day, named after Stepfather Bob. Here is the origin of our stepfather's day.
That was when Bob first came into our family.

"Pick one from my closet." said Bob.
"You have to get your ears pierced." said the boy in middle school.
"I will consider it." said Bob.
"What do you think of my date last night?" asked the boy who was in college.
"What does my opinion have to do with you?" asked Bob.
"Yes." the boy said.
"I have to talk to you." said the boy in middle school.
"I have to talk to you." said Bob.
"We should have a common experience between a stepfather and a stepson." said the boy who was in college.
"What are you doing?" asked Bob.
"Change the oil in my car." the boy said.
"I understand." said Bob.

This is the origin of our festival. The boys bought a new toy for their stepfather that they could play with. It was a blessing for the whole family that Bob was able to win the children's respect. He seemed to have been supporting us from behind.
