Modern History of China was a very famous history book of modern Chinese history. It described the development of modern Chinese history in an objective manner without political bias. The book was written by the historian Xu Zhongyue and was divided into two volumes. The contents included the decline of China's feudal society, the emergence of China's capitalist society, the rise of China's democratic revolution, the War of Resistance against Japan, and the War of Liberation. The book was fluent and easy to understand. It was one of the excellent teaching materials for understanding modern Chinese history.
