Ancient Chinese poetry can be divided into two categories according to content: bold and unconstrained and graceful. The bold and unconstrained poems mainly described war, natural scenery, social customs, etc. The language was open-minded and full of passion and appeal. On the other hand, the poems of the graceful and restrained school focused on describing love, parting, homesickness, and other emotional language. These two styles of poetry have been widely spread in the history of ancient Chinese literature and formed a unique literary school.
