The pronunciation and grammar of the Tang people were not directly related to classical Chinese and vernacular Chinese. In the Tang Dynasty, apart from poetry and literary criticism, modern Chinese was the main form of oral communication rather than classical Chinese. Daily language and oral expressions are quite different from modern Chinese. The written language of the Tang Dynasty was mainly ancient prose such as "300 Tang Poems". The grammar and vocabulary of ancient Chinese and later classical Chinese have great similarities, but the spoken language is very different from modern Chinese. Therefore, the language of the Tang people was not like classical Chinese or vernacular Chinese, but mainly modern Chinese.
