Bai Ye (1928 - 2016) was originally named Bai Tiejun Beijing City born in Beijing City. China's contemporary famous scholars and cultural critics were also China. Bai Ye started his literary creation in the 1950s. His representative works include the novels "Alive","Crime and Punishment","Qin Qiang", and the prose collections "Between Black and White","The End of Black and White", etc. His novels were known for their profound social criticism and unique narrative style, and were hailed as "one of the representative figures of the new era literature". Bai Ye had won many literary awards, including the "Literature Award","Mao Dun Literature Award","Lao She Literature Award" and so on. He was also one of the most important scholars in the study of modern Chinese literature. He had presided over and completed many important literary research works such as "Thirty Years of Modern Chinese Literature" and "Bai Ye's Interviews". Bai Ye died on October 31, 2016 at the age of 88 in Beijing due to illness.
