Why didn't the cameraman give him the negative film?
The main reasons why photographers did not give out negatives were as follows: 1. ** Consider from the customer's perspective ** - The clients were usually not professionals, and even if they gave them a raw film, they would not process it. - The photos that were finally delivered to the client were carefully edited. If the client saw the original RAW file, they might mistakenly think that the photographer's skills were not good enough and relied on post-production, which would affect the recognition of the photographer's skills. - If the studio made money by selling photos according to the package, for example, if the package included 20 retouched photos, the number was not enough for an album. If they gave the unselected retouched RAW film to the customer, the customer might find someone else to retouch it, and the studio would not be able to earn money from adding photos. 2. ** From the perspective of a photographer ** - ** Protection of intellectual property rights ** - The original image contained a large amount of meta-data information such as the date, time, location, and camera and lens used by the photographer. This information could be misused or used for unauthorized commercial purposes. - Unprocessed images could be more easily copied and distributed. Photographers hoped to protect the copyright of their work by controlling the release of the finished images and prevent pirated copies. - ** Maintaining the unity of the work ** - Photographers usually post-processed the original image, such as adjusting exposure, contrast, color saturation, etc., to achieve the best visual effect. Showing unedited images could destroy the artistic effect that the photographer wanted to convey. - Photographers wanted to ensure that every piece of work they published met a certain quality standard, and unedited images might not meet this standard. - ** Maintaining a professional image ** - Photographers were usually only willing to show carefully selected and processed works to maintain their professional image and reputation. - Unprocessed images may reveal some defects or deficiencies during the shooting, and displaying these images may cause doubts or dissatisfaction from customers. - ** Business strategy ** - Photographers increased the value of their services by providing processed finished images, which was also part of their professional services. - Showing the original images might give competitors a chance to learn, thereby weakening their competitive advantage. - ** In terms of creative protection ** - Every photographer had their own unique creative style and post-processing skills, which were one of the core competitiveness of a photographer. Showing the original picture might reveal these secrets. - Photographers hoped to express their artistic ideas through the complete process (from shooting to post-processing). Unprocessed images might not be able to fully reflect this. - ** Satisfying customer expectations **: Customers usually expect to see the final product, not the original film. However, if the client requested it and both parties had agreed on it before the shoot (such as charging per photo and the client's choice of photo, etc.), the photographer would give the original film. The meaning of the earthen basin
Tile basins, also known as mud basins, were indispensable daily necessities for people in the old days of Ji Lin. They were still in production and use until the mid-1970s. In addition, in the ritual of offering sacrifices to the dead, the earthen basin also had a special meaning. In most places, an earthen basin with white paper pasted on the mouth (some places called it an "old basin") would be placed in front of the memorial tablet. During the funeral, the filial son would personally smash it in front of the coffin, and the more broken it was, the better. This custom contained the wisdom of the ancients and rich cultural content. In terms of food production, there was a tradition of drying watermelons and beans in earthen pots. In terms of ornamental fish rearing, earthen basins could also be used to raise fish in ancient ways. The novel, Drunken Golden Cup, is equally exciting. Everyone is welcome to click and read it!
