The witchcraft and farming culture in Xiangxi might be a combination of witchcraft culture and farming culture. In Xiangxi, there were many manifestations of witchcraft culture. For example, Xiangxi's corpse chasing technique was a folk custom of the Miao nationality and belonged to the Chu witch culture. It had an ancient legend. Although it had never been verified by science, it was related to the concept of the local people returning to their roots. There was also the release of voodoo in Xiangxi. Legend had it that it was related to the self-protection of Miao women and revenge against heartless men. Moreover, the production of voodoo involved a variety of poisonous insects. However, in reality, many so-called voodoo cases could be chronic diseases or mental illnesses from the perspective of modern medicine. In terms of farming culture, agricultural production was an important way of survival in Xiangxi. The combination of the two could be reflected in the witchcraft customs in farming activities, the influence of beliefs on farming activities, etc. However, there was no complete and unified concept specifically named "Xiangxi witchcraft and farming culture".
