There were different versions of "The Phoenix". The following is the plot of the movie version: In the film, Frank Torres (Dennis Quaid) was the pilot of the plane. He was transporting oil workers and supplies for the American oil company. On the way to Beijing, the Phoenix C - 119 cargo plane encountered a desert storm while passing through Mongolia. The plane was severely damaged and forced to land in the Mongolian Gobi Desert. Although there were no casualties during the forced landing, they were in a new predicament. The plane's communication equipment was damaged and could not contact the outside world. At this time, a passenger who claimed to be the plane's designer (Geowani Rabis) said that he could use the wreckage to create a simple plane to escape. There were many difficulties in the self-rescue process. Frank made mistakes when assembling the plane, the lack of tools caused the workers to be almost hit by the wreckage of the plane, the conflict between the oil workers and the pilots intensified, and the water stored on the plane was getting lesser and lesser. While they were working hard to assemble the plane, armed bandits appeared in the surrounding desert. They faced the crisis of air crashes, the harsh environment of the desert, and the robbery and killing of bandits. After experiencing a series of difficult challenges such as sandstorms, water shortage, internal strife, and fatal encounters with smugglers, the survivors finally succeeded in building a new plane and taking off, escaping the smugglers who sought revenge for the murdered smugglers. Finally, the photos showed the life of the survivors after they returned to civilized society, such as Frank and A.J. opening their own airline, Sammy and his wife opening a restaurant, etc. Everyone lived a happy life because of this experience. There was also a short version of the plot as follows: On the night of their wedding, the woman grabbed her husband's hand and pricked his blood on the jade pendant. The jade pendant emitted a white light and the man saw the woman's figure from a year ago. It turned out that a year ago, the general was seriously injured. As the Holy Maiden of the Phoenix Race, the woman's Phoenix Heart could cure illnesses, but if she gave it to him, she might die. The general would forget about her. After the general refused, she passed away. The woman took out the Phoenix Heart to save the general. This scene was recorded in the video jade. When the woman's best friend arrived, the woman entrusted the general to her best friend and collapsed. However, her best friend wanted to replace the woman's identity. A year later, the general woke up and forgot about the woman. The scheming woman called herself her savior, and the general promised to repay her. The general's subordinate came to report that a girl was holding an ancestral jade pendant claiming to be her savior. The general found that the jade pendant was not on her, but she suspected the scheming woman, but the scheming woman quibbled. The general was prepared to deal with the "mountain bandits"(actually women) outside. He snatched the woman's jade pendant and wanted to send it to the government for conviction. The woman's explanation was useless, so she took out the imperial edict and hoped to stay by the general's side to help him recover his memory. On the wedding night, the woman saw the general again, but the general strangled her neck and misunderstood that she used the imperial edict to force the marriage and wanted to steal the credit. The woman tried to let the general use the photo jade to see the truth, but the general did not believe it. The scheming woman exposed the idea of snatching the woman's phoenix heart. The woman concealed the fact that the phoenix heart was already in the general's body and pushed the scheming woman away. After the general saw it, he misunderstood that the woman had poisoned the woman. The scheming woman framed the woman. The woman could not defend herself.
