I was never afraid of heights but falling from somewhere high was what scared me. My bag fell to the ground calling the attention of the zombies, as I was falling I held a branch tightly with my two hands, the force of my shortfall and me grabbing the tree branch sprained my wrist. I held the tree dearly, I tried pulling my weight up but my wrist hurt a lot. My breathing was heavy, I looked below me, the zombies were scattering my bag distracted that I was on the tree. Wait a second this could be my moment to escape I realized. My wrist got weaker every second that passed by.
" Hang on, hang on," I said breathing heavily.
"Hang on" I heard Kin call out to me, and he could see me." Don't let go. You need to keep them as far away as possible, try pulling yourself up ".
I took a deep breath and pulled myself onto the branch I held till my stomach lay on it, there was bad news the tree wasn't thick enough, it cracked when half my weight was on it. I had to get off it as soon as possible.
"Kin" I yelled.
"Stop acting like my sister, You are a guy, find a good branch and jump". I had no choice if I wanted to live, I had to find a good branch to jump on.
It was like a leap of faith, I jumped to another branch I found suitable for carrying my weight, if I hadn't jumped faster, I would have fallen to the ground.
"Yo Kin, I wasn't calling you because I was scared or anything," I said trying to clarify my point of not being scared.
"Yeah, yeah, I know. " Kin sounded sarcastic.
"I'll break other sticks, hang on a minute."
" I thought all this time you were on it " Kin didn't understand why I wasted time.
"I'll tell you about it when we get off these trees," I said proceeding to break another set of branches.
++++++++++--------++++--------+++++--------++++++--
The sticks I broke were held closely to my chest like I was hugging them because it may guarantee my safety and be my means of escape.
" Kin are you ready?" I called to him feeling some pressure.
"I am" Kin answered.
The time to get out of the trees had come, I threw one of my sticks very far onto another tree, the sound it made was so loud that it called the attention of the zombies below me, I gazed at Kin's tree, I saw the zombies below him had followed his sticks like dogs playing fetch. I looked down and I saw my zombies had gone after the stick also (yeah my zombies) I wondered how something so dangerous could be so stupid and gullible. I made a very terrible mistake. I didn't have a strategy to come down from the tree so I jumped.
As I was falling I heard Kin exclaim "No!", I fell on my feet, my ankle I could tell it was sprained or broken I did not know at that time. Oh, the cycle of hopelessness has begun I thought to myself as I fell to the ground. My wrists sprained and my ankle also, could it get any worse? I wish it didn't but it did, one of the zombies that went after the stick I threw turned around I was certain it did because it heard the sound of me falling.
'"Move" I screamed to myself, I was crawling, trying my best to get away from the zombie. The zombie had not spotted me yet, I turned my eyes to Kin's tree he was coming down his tree as fast as he could, he was nervous and I was sure he had the feeling of racing against time.
"Get to your feet," I said to myself "What would Raz do if he was in this situation?" I asked myself, Raz was a fictional character I saw when we still had the opportunity of seeing TV, he was brave and mighty. He did not let anything or anyone weigh him down, he didn't give way to any hindrance or obstacle, Heyt and Kin were like him
I shrieked when I got to my feet. I turned my head to see if the zombie was after me, yes it was. An adult zombie. I limped in speed and always turned my head to look at the gap between me and the zombie. It wasn't that much.
The zombie was faster than me in speed even though its body was going through decomposition. I turned my head again and I saw the other zombie coming after me.
"Oh shoot, I forgot my bag" I proclaimed to myself.
" Run," I heard my friend say, "Run!" To my right I saw Kin running, his zombies were also pursuing him. We made a terrible mistake, no I made a terrible mistake of not planning on getting off the tree and luring the zombies far enough.
I reached a place in the woods where the trees that surrounded us were perfectly aligned, if I turned right, I could lose the zombies, I thought before I felt something holding my leg, it was one of the zombies. It jumped at my legs. terrible news, I wasn't wearing shoes! I fell to the ground, and the Zombies' mouths were widely opened. It was about to sink its diseased teeth into my skin.
Two large stones landed on the face of the zombie knocking it to the ground, I kicked at it. Squirming my way from the zombie. I stood up and ran. Still limping my ankle had gotten better, and the pain had subsided.
"Wait" I heard Kin say. I stopped to look behind me. I saw him with a medium-sized stone above the stunned zombie, he dropped it with Immense force and I saw the brain of the zombie splatter.
"What about the rest of the zombies!?" I asked with a sigh of relief. Kin was coming closer towards me but he suddenly stopped. His eyes were suspicious, he was suspecting me of something.
"Did you get bitten?"Kin asked pulling a knife from his pocket.
"No, keep it aside Kin," I said trying to move closer to him. He stretched the knife towards me threatening to use it on me if I took another step.
"Trust me I wasn't," I said taking a few steps backwards.
"Then why are you bleeding from your feet"
