Chapter 4: Forsaken redemption

The boy stood, waiting, not making a noise. Bright lights flashed before his eyes as he stood in the chamber, his mind finding the word 'teleportation circle'. He didn't know much; he wasn't taught what wasn't necessary, so it took him a while to remember the words.

The only reason the boy knew what it was specifically was because he was informed just before taking it the first time, a few hours ago. The operator had given clear instructions on the does and do nots when it came to waiting for the teleportation circle to connect.

You see there are multiple teleportation circles littered throughout the underworld, because they are so numerous, each one must be given specific co-ordinates each time they are used. This also gives it time to charge up the magic power required to move such a distance instantly.

Should one interrupt the initial sequence the circle would fail and must be recharged from the start. Most circles for long distance teleportation only take around 10 minutes to charge, with the co-ordinates being input last.

Should someone accidentally enter the circle after a full charge but without co-ordinates, they would then be teleported into the Uknown. Best case scenario you wind up in the underworld unharmed but lost.... worst case scenario you wind up in the dimensional gap, instantly dying.

OfCourse the boy didn't know that all he was told was to stay still and not move unless told. He wouldn't do otherwise.

But it was as the teleportation circle in the middle of one of the underworlds greatest capital cities 'Lilith' was fully charged that the boy felt a weight from behind. His body easily flew out of his control after the shove from behind as he flew into the unfinished teleportation circle.

All he could make out as he tumbled inside was the nefarious smile on 'his' face as he pulled his arms back.

Before he could think of anything else his surroundings changed.

The boy was in a forest sprawled out on the ground, a little blood trickling from his right ear as he landed hard. Though the pain hurt, the boy felt nothing as he slowly got to his feet and stared blankly ahead.

He had been told not to move....

He wouldn't move until he was told.

So that's what the boy did, he wasn't one to not follow orders.

So, he stood and waited as the hours passed, not moving a muscle as the heat of the area made the clothes on his body stick to his skin. Bugs filtered about back and forth, some sticking to his skin, some flying by.

The sound of other animals and creatures milled about, but he didn't move from his solitary position.

If he stayed still, they WOULD pay attention to him.

They would talk to him.

They would look at him.

And that.... That was something.

Something other than just sitting on his bed, in the dark, listening to people walk by.

As the sun dipped below the horizon and the temperature began to drop, the cold invaded his body, but to the boy it had always been there. The coldness that existed deep within never went away, even if his outer skin was warm, he could still feel the cold on the inside.

Tightly hugging the small case that was still in his hand to maybe make that coldness go away, the boy suddenly heard a noise.

*Grrrrr*

An almost primal instinct within his body forced him to turn his head in that direction as he heard something getting closer.

Though he wasn't sure what the feeling was, the one that made his heart beat faster, that made sweat break out on his forehead, he was sure of one thing. He wanted to move. To get away from whatever was coming.

If the boy knew what fear as an emotion was, he would have started running a lot faster than he did. It was only when the silhouette of a beast, pitch black in nature and huge in stature, that his primal instincts forced him to run.

The boy's heart beat faster and faster as he pushed his malnourished and weak body to the limit as he rushed through the jungle. Battering flora and fauna out of the way he tried and tried to get away from the darkness that was stalking him.

To the beast it was just a game, the prey it had surprisingly found was weak, but smelled good. Its yellow eyes tracked the meat as it moved back and forth trying to escape.

It played with its food in the rare chance to find such easy prey. Closing in and swiping at 'it' to make the chase last longer.

The claw mark stripped fabric in second and drew blood from the boy's back, almost flinging him into a tree. What it did do though was launch him forward as a new type of pain blossomed, pain and terror, emotions that bloomed in his heart threatening to drown him in this new powerful sensation.

He still held tight to the case, hugging it like a life line, the only thing in his life that was his own. That wouldn't leave him.

The chase continued as the boy ran, trying to escape the predator. The predator was only amused by the prey's efforts as it closed in another few time, swiping back and forth drawing more blood from the boy's arms and legs.

The smell of blood was tantalizing to the beast, but all things must come to an end and the hunt must finish.

After a few minutes of playing around the beast was finally ready to finish the hunt and enjoy its meal. Getting ready to go in for the kill, it was about to pounce on its prey when in his exhaustion the boy tripped.

Tumbling down a small embankment that was wet with mud. He tightly held onto his case as his body slid over rocks and mud downwards. At some point a small hole opened before him and from his speed he shot out into a freefall, disappearing into the dark.

*RARGH!!!!!*

Having lost its prey, the beast let loose a mighty roar, the scent disappearing and disappointment setting in. With a fire in its eyes at the lost delectable, the beast's eyes prowled the forest for its next meal. This time it would take down its prey instantly, they would not have a chance to escape.

**************

*Bang*

A being unlike any other slowly opened their eyes as the sound echoed outwards reaching their senses. The eyes that opened were cold, glacial even as they flickered. A Deep royal gold in color, they starred at something before their body completely disappeared.

Appearing in another section of their temple.... their prison they looked down at the bloodied and beaten body before them. Still their eyes didn't change as they looked over the small boy.

"A Devil."

The words slipped out as the being moved a little closer.

Crouching down their petite legs bent into a squat as their delicate hand reached out. With an unseen force they slowly flipped the body over to take a closer look. They were unconscious, though the being noted the death grip they had on the small case in their hand.

They would leave that be for now.

Looking at the small boy before them and then looking at the high window that had been covered up for years, an indecision appeared before their eyes.

The being was contemplating, should they completely eradicate the boy before them or do something else. It took only a few seconds before they decided to move them deeper inside. Though they didn't care for the boy, it had been a long, long time since they had seen anyone, anything else.

Noting that the boy was dying, as they stood to their full height, the being clicked their fingers, the small noise rather loud in the big area. With a rate visible to the naked eye the scratches, claw marks and bruises all over the body started to disappear as if they were never there until finally his body was back in perfect condition. Of Course, it was still malnourished and rather small.

Turning their back to the body they flickered again from the room and appeared where they started, the boy appearing alongside as well. Letting the body hover in the air, the being began to wait as they sat back down.

The room was a blinding gold, the walls, ceiling and floor made from the material. Two small streams glided down both sides of the wide area, the canals used were lined with a black obsidian that was also used for the pillars thar held up the roof of what could only be called a throne room.

This was all but certain because of the golden throne the being had just sat down upon. Raised in the air, around a full meter off the ground, so as to look down on their subjects, the throne as well as the immaculate stairs leading to it were smooth and shiny, beyond what any mere mortal could achieve. Below the throne and keeping it raised was a slab of purple obsidian that stood out in the golden room.

The being slowly rested back, her figure revealed to be feminine. With skin as white as alabaster and as smooth as jade, not an imperfection could be noted. Her golden eyes thrummed with authoritative power as she stared at the intruder.

She continued to stare at him as her cheek came to rest on her right hand, her legs crossing, one over the other. With one bare foot raised she lazily bobbed it back and forth as she waited for him to awaken. Black hair cascaded down her back, reaching as far as her own waist. It shimmered down her back with a gloss and softness that could only be achieved by a goddess.

Her body was small, only around 5'2, but compared to the other aspects of her body it was a perfect ratio, her proportions fitting perfectly with the height. It was rather the perfect amount to make any man that laid eyes on her body infatuated.

On her body rested numerous amounts of gold jewelry and several pieces of clothing that made up her wear. A mixture of both cloth, jewels and armor, the two main pieces covered her chest and nether regions. With the cloth covering the majority of her sensitive regions, they were outlined with thick golden armor and decorated with blew jewels that crisscrossed over her body to create a two-piece bikini dress, leaving nothing to the imagination. At the back a small cape was incorporated into the piece, hanging down from her waist to her ankles, also a white and gold color.

On her right leg she wore a black stocking that stopped at her thigh accented with gold armor, contrasting her white dress. To go with this, she also wore a black sleeve on her left arm that stopped at her bicep accented with gold again, both sporting a unique pattern.

On her head rested a dark golden crown that seemingly tied her hair into a pair of twin tails at both sides of her face, exuding grace and authority. While around her neck rested a necklace with a red jewel at the center, positioned over the middle of her cleavage, inciting others to look closer.

Her golden eyes, though thrumming with power, belayed a boredom that while she wouldn't voice the thought, hopefully would disappear with this new revelation.

Notes:

Look I know that some people don't really like long descriptions of people or characters sometimes, but as this character is super important, I went all out in the description. At the same time, I am sure some people will be able to figure out which character I am referring to. This will be confirmed in the next chapter. A little hint, this story is called Divine peerage.
