The next day.

Zack woke everyone up for the start of their training, it was 4 am so he had to bribe Nora with her pancakes just for her to wake up. They started stretches first then took an hour running around Beacon, after that Zack explained how he uses his aura, as he showed different ways of using it.

Most of all is applying the right amount of aura on your weapon for aura based attacks. Ren has the lowest reserves but he has the best control of all of them, so Zack made him use his aura constantly after emptying his reserves, he then meditates to recover faster (A/N: like chakra). This was Ren's routine after their run.

Nora has a fairly large reserve but she lacks control so Zack made her pick up various junks and coat it with the right amount of aura, her goal was to avoid the object she picked up breaking as she coats it with her aura.

Pyrrha has a fairly large amount of aura as well as her control but her semblance's control was very basic so Zack made her control with iron sand.

Zack was starting with their individual weaknesses first but he was not idle as he practiced his cero in small amounts.

They all did this until it was time for them to get ready for classes.

Nothing unusual happened during classes except for humiliating Cardin in front of all the class and Prof. Oobleck, Cardin did try to get back at Zack but every time he tried, it ended with Cardin's team humiliation and being laughed at.

After classes, Zack continued their training, but this time, their reflexes. He ordered his minions to randomly throw rubber balls at them and their task is to avoid being hit for an hour or two then they sparred with him, in a group or individually. This continued until dinner where they ate with team RWBY.

This trend continued for two weeks, Zack's team at first complained a bit about their routine but it slowly died down as they got used to it, they did improve but not that much, Zack knows if they want to improve faster, they need more fighting experience.

As Zack thought of that, Ozpin suddenly called for Zack and his team to immediately report to Ozpin's office. They were excused from class much to the others jealous stares but team RWBY did bid them good luck as they were already told that Zack's team will probably be a rescue mission or worst, Grand Alpha extermination.

Team RWBY did try to make Ozpin join them but he said that team ZPNR's special circumstance was like a trial, in whether or not that Zack could train his teammates to a level they could handle these kinds of missions. And if team ZPNR is successful, they were given permission to join them voluntarily.

At team ZPNR,

They quickly entered Ozpin's office as Ozpin started briefing them about their mission.

"Team CFVY, a third-year team at this school, has just requested reinforcements, they reported that the village that they came across is in the cross path of a horde of Grimm that numbers in hundreds and they also stated that it is being led by a Beringel alpha. Take the Bullhead prepped outside, they will take you there, time is limited, you have 10 minutes to suit up. This is your first mission team ZPNR, don't let me down and above all, stay safe, all of you. Dismissed" Ozpin stated.

They all nodded as they hurriedly went back to their dorm.

In no time, team ZPNR was already inside the Bullhead flying towards their destination. Ren, Pyrrha, and Nora were a little bit nervous and excited as this was their first mission but they looked at their leader who was very relaxed, they told themselves to calm down and focus.

"Alright team, this is our first mission, show everyone there the fruits of your training, fight smart, and most of all, watch each other's backs. We might be only first-years but we are the only back-up team CFVY got," Zack said as he stood up, took all of his swords, and placed them at their holsters in his back.

"Attention, we are approaching the dropping point, all of you get ready to jump," The pilot said through the speakers.

"Remember team, believe in yourselves and if you can't, then believe in me that believes in all you, we are all returning from this mission stronger and better," Zack said as he faced them as they all nodded at him.

Zack nodded at the looks in their eyes, he then approached the side of the Bullhead and pressed the button to open the doors.

"Now, let's go team ZPNR!! Let's kick some Grimm ass!!" Zack shouted at them as they all jumped from the Bullhead.

"WOOOHHHOOOOO!! BEST TEAM EVER!!" Nora excitedly exclaimed in the air.

This brought little smiles from them as they focused on the village, they could see the horde was only 30 minutes away.

The team eventually landed and arrived at the village and immediately met up with team CFVY.

Team CFVY at first was a little peeved about their so-called reinforcements being only first-years but as Zack ordered his minions to emerge, they shut their mouths.

"Alright, team, protect the village at all cost, Pyrrha, you take the Beowolves and take care of all of the ones that come close to the village, Nora, take the Ursas and lead them in a frontal assault, and Ren, you take the manticores and sabyrs, you will be Nora and Pyrrha back-up in case anything happens and also you'll be in charge of anything that comes through Pyrrha defenses" Zack commanded his team as they nodded as his minions started to go to their respective positions.

"And what will you do, leader?" Nora asked curiously.

"Me, I have an appointment for the leader of this pact as I seriously doubt an alpha could lead this attack, I will be leaving Fang and Ted here in case a grand appears, they will only be your back-up so don't rely on them too much," Zack said as he fused his hollow blade with his fusion core sword.

"Aye aye captain!" Nora saluted as she jumped on the back of an Ursa and rode on it.

"You sure about taking the leader all by yourself out there?" Ren asked as he hopped on one of the manticores.

"Don't worry, I got this, you're in charge for the while, protect them alright," Zack replied as he positioned his fist towards Ren.

"Mmm, you didn't have to say it, it was my intention all along, take care of yourself out there leader," Ren nodded at Zack as he fist-bumped each other.

"Zack, c-can you come over here for a moment, I need to give you something for good luck," Pyrrha said as she shyly approached Zack.

"Hmm?" Zack curiously looked at her.

"Close your eyes, and don't peek alright." Pyrrha requested for him, Zack didn't see why not so he did what she said.

Pyrrha tried to calm down her madly beating heart as she started to approach Zack's lips with hers but suddenly a roar of a Grimm was heard by everyone, a big one.

Due to the roar, Zack unconsciously turned in its direction as Pyrrha's lips finally arrived, instead of the lips, she kissed his cheeks.

This got both of their attention.

"Hey, thanks for the good luck partner!" Zack said with a simple smile.

"Mmm… your welcome…" Pyrrha muttered while blushing as even though she has these episodes, she was still shy at heart.

"Aren't you forgetting something here oh great leader? What about our team?" Coco, the leader of CFVY, asked Zack before he could make his way.

"Hmm, oh you guys, assist Nora in frontal assaults, she might need all the help she could get, I have a feeling a grand may appear, if one did appear, the number of Grimms in this horde will be in the thousands easily," Zack said to them while calling out for Bubba as it appeared beneath him.

Team CFVY was pretty speechless at the size of this Nevermore but they focused on the part that there could be the possibility of a grand may appear. This was no joke, even one of them could destroy one village easily so they didn't fuss over the fact a first-year ordered them as it looked like he, alone, is going to face the leader.

Zack rode Bubba towards the approaching horde but he made it fly lower to hinder their advances by using the wind from its giant wings.

Zack readied his sword as he saw a giant Beringel, almost as big as Fang, commanding four alphas half of its size.

He then aimed Jackal, in his forearm, to shoot at the sky and fired a dust round that exploded like a firework.

Pyrrha, Ren, and Nora saw this, then narrowed their eyes as they grew a little worried for their leader.

Team CFVY noticed them as they looked at the firework in the sky.

Coco grew curious and asked Nora who was still looking at it flying light in the sky.

"Hey, are you guys alright? You all suddenly became tense after seeing that firework," Coco asked as her team agreed with her.

"Mmm, you could say that that was from our leader, it meant that he just spotted a grand alpha," Nora said seriously as she still remembers when they fought that giant Deathstalker.

At that, team CFVY became serious as well,

"A-are you serious?" one team member, with long, brown hair and brown eyes and has a pair of brown rabbit ears, Velvet asked in nervousness.

"Yup, but we're gonna be alright, we have our mighty leader with us after all," Nora said as she believes in Zack to defeat it.

Team CFVY looked at Nora with awe as she completely trusts their leader to come out of this on top. They stopped fusing over it as it looks like the horde is here, they didn't have a choice but to believe in Zack as well.

*Rooooaaaaarrrrr*!!!

"Hmph! Alright, my teddy armies! Charge!" Nora exclaimed as she hopped on one Ursa Grimm and commanded the rest as they all charged head-on.

Back to Zack.

Zack jumped off Bubba as he did a superhero landing in front of the grand alpha and its 4 alphas. This got their attention as they looked at the Zack with condescension.

/HA… HA… FOOLISH… HUMAN… ALL… ALONE.../

The grand alpha laughed at Zack as it commanded its alphas to surround him.

*sigh* "Why is it every time I encounter a grand alpha, they all have the same arrogance," Zack said as shook his head and placed his fusion sword at his shoulder.

/OH… HUMAN… NOT… SCARED.../

Its tone was full of mockery as it looked at Zack as someone who is already dead.

/WE… MAKE… YOU… FEAR… US… THEN.../

The giant Beringel motioned its hands to attack Zack all at the same time, it didn't join them as it looked like it wanted to see the show.

"Heh, fear you guys?" Zack chuckled lightly as he suddenly spins his sword twice as it glowed greenish-blue then swung it at the fist incoming to him.

*Boom* *thud* *ROOOOOAAAAARRRRR*!!

The one who attacked Zack had its arm cut-off but the three alpha Beringel didn't mind as it continued their charge. The two Grimms punched out with their fists while the other one jumped to the air and wind up both of its arms, like a certain green-rage monster, towards Zack's position.

Zack grinned excitedly as he jumped over their fists as it hit the ground then he ran up to their arms and swung his blade at their heads, which easily cut through them.

He then used their bodies as stepping stones as he jumped again but this time it was faster towards the Grimm that is still in the air with its arms drawn back. Before it could bring it down, Zack already was at its face and did a second swing at its face.

After that, he used the body again to stepped over and jumped off it towards the Grimm that attacked him first. Before the alpha Grimm could understand what happened, Zack already swung his sword at it, bisecting it in half.

As Zack touched the ground, the four bodies of Grimm fell down simultaneously.

The giant Grimm widened its eyes in shock as it stared at Zack, as he finished its generals in a matter of seconds.

"How about you... do you fear... death?" Zack said as he took all of his swords in his back to assemble his fusion sword then readied his stance.
