POV: MC
The next morning I managed to wake up relatively early compared to my roommate. Tina seemed to be muttering in her sleep about the various Duel scenarios I taught her. It took me a good 15 minutes before I side in exasperation and finally began shaking her awake. As she jolted awake, she nearly banged her head against my forehead.
Thankfully I was quick enough to back away from her sudden attack. After apologizing profusely, she quickly made herself presentable for the day classes. Finally, around 20 minutes before the first class we finally left the girls dorm and began racing our way towards the first class of the day.
Thankfully we managed to get to class on time. About five minutes after we got settled in to our seats, the door to the classroom opened to reveal the lanky form of Doctor Krowler striding into the classroom. Turning to write his name on the chalkboard, underlining the word doctor, Doctor Krowler introduced himself to the class.
"Now students, my name is Doctor Vellion Krowler. It is my job to teach you the knowledge necessary to make you into all excellent duelists. That means you better pay attention in my class. Now let us begin!"
Krowler spent the rest of the class lecturing us on the basic card types of spell, trap, and Monster cards. In addition, he gave us various Duel puzzle scenarios to solve as homework to be turned in tomorrow. I was honestly pretty surprised that Krowler was actually a pretty competent teacher.
He managed to deliver all the information needed in a concise and easy to understand manner. As well as give examples on how to use that information. By the time the bell rang I found myself wondering if people will be more competent at dueling than shown in the anime.
The next few classes was just a general education classes. Basic math, English, etcetera. After that was a half hour lunch. Which I spend with Tina chatting about more combos that she could use in her deck.
After lunch was one of the classes I was looking forward to, Dueling Alchemy. Which was basically the more esoteric side of the duel monsters history. Such as their origins in ancient Egypt and the Shadow games that were played.
However, most of this was portrayed by professor banner as mostly myth and legend. That said, I know most, if not all of what he was teaching was based on his own experiences as an actual alchemist and Shadow Rider in disguise. Thus, I took lots of notes in this class.
After duel alchemy class was another of my favorite classes of the day, card design. The class was taught by the raw yellow head of the dorm and was more or less much like your average art class. However, there was also the addition of needing to design the card effects, attack and defense strength as well as the name and card art.
We sadly didn't actually get to do any drawing today. However, he did assign us a long-term group project to make our own set of three cards that can be used with each other for at least one combo by the end of this semester. In addition, groups that submitted card sets that impressed him enough could have their created cards be sent to industrial illusions to be reviewed and potentially made into real cards.
I ended up partnering up with Tina since we're roommates and already get along pretty well. We decided to plan out what cards we will design later today at our dorm room. The final class of the day ended up being PE with Miss Fontaine.
Seeing Miss Fontaine and Alexis and the rest of the girls of the Obelisk dorm reminded me that the events of episode three of the anime we're coming up next week. At which point Cyrus will be tricked into trespassing at the girls dorm by Krowler. Thus be used as bait to get Jaden to duel Alexis.
Unsure if I wanted to get involved, I asked my spirit partner Exodia his opinion on the matter.
'I believe that we should at least watch the duel between the two of them. This way we could gauge the skill level of this world's version of the main cast. Plus if we find Jaden up to par we could seek him out for a duel at a later date.'
Nodding in agreement I projected back my own two cents.
'That's a good point. Now the question is if we end up dueling him, which version of our deck should we use?'
