Slapped in the face

I booked a flight to go home when I received a call from my trusted aid. My mum and Loli had gone to the west city. I knew they found out about my movements in and out of the city right then and there. I didn’t want any of them to know my whereabouts or about Jane. Things were going really fast.

My dad was in my neck to marry Loli. I didn’t care about their threats anymore.

For God’s sake, I was going to live with the woman, not them. I swore not to marry someone just because someone said so.

Looking at her closing, standing fiercely behind her desk, made my heart race. I had missed her to the core. My heart ached for her. She was my everything. Though I didn’t say anything, I felt my world shatter when we broke up. Seeing her being bullied, I felt the urge to protect her.

She looked surprised to see me. I could see the slight change in the face though she tried to cover it. I walked in and ignored my mother. I looked straight into her eyes. I could see her struggle to maintain her posture, but I could not let the chance to be with her go. I heard large strides following behind me, but I did not look. I saw how she stopped whoever was coming, but I didn’t turn.

“You don’t want anything to do with me?” I could not help but ask. It really hurt me to hear her say it even though we broke up. We may have broken up, but that still did not hinder me from getting hurt hearing her words.

Her words shattered my heart, but I wanted to be clear about it. She told me to my face to take my wife to be and mother away, but the sarcasm was clear. I made it clear before them all that I loved her. I wanted Loli and my mother to know for sure that I would be near be with Loli no matter what they planned.

“I have no wife. I only have one person in this world that I love, and that’s you. I said I’ll come back for you. No matter what stands in my way, I will take it down just to have you back in my life.” I said, giving my mother and Loli a hard and determined look. Yes. The more she refused and hardened her heart to be with, the more I wanted her. I never had as much interest in a woman as I had for Jane. She came into my life and turned it upside down. I don’t complain, but I thank God so much for her coming into my life.

She said she didn’t want to be me trying to chase me out. At the corner of my eyes, I saw the same guy that had stayed the night in her place. I became angry and agitated thinking of it.

I angrily told her to move in with me, or I will move in with her. I was serious as hell. Seeing that guy close to her made it worse. I didn’t want any other ma to be close to her. I pinned her in one place when she tried to move away, but at that moment, the guy from the door tried to intervene.

I angrily knocked him down before turning back to Jane in anger. No matter what, I was going to make her be with me. Whether she liked it or not. I was sure she loved me the same way I do her. Within time she would love me again.

Her saying she was done with me made my heartache. I felt like someone was piecing a sharp knife right through it. I told her I was only starting with her and gave her three days to think.

Walking out of her office, I didn’t have the mood to deal with anyone or anything.

“Book for me a presidential suite in the hotel in the city” I called one of my men and made it clear I was not going anywhere. I will make sure she goes with me or stays with her. I was determined to fight to the end until I got her.

“Ugh.” I threw the item on the table down the moment James left. My heart jolted when he spoke the sweet words to me. I almost swayed, thinking he loved me.

“The nerve of him,” I said angrily, clenching my fist. He giving me three days is absurd. I am not going anywhere. Let me see what he can do.

“Who is he?” Peter, who was nursing his injured face from the couch, looked up to me and asked

“A nobody. He is not worth your time. How is your face?” I told him evading the topic

“It will be okay. A pack of ice would do the trick,” he said, standing from the coach heading out.

“Wait. Let me get it.” I said, heading out

“Gedi, Get me a pack of ice and then two cups of coffee. Make it fast.” I ordered from the secretary. It took ten minutes, and she came back with everything on a tray. She is always a hard worker. Sometimes I wonder where Peter got all the people.

“Put it on the table,” I said to her, going to the room inside my office. Yes. I had a room made in case I wanted to stay the night.

Taking the ice pack, I helped Peter. He hissed in pain. We were so close that I could feel his hot breath on my skin without knowing. He moved closer to me. I felt the atmosphere become ambiguous, my body shaking slightly. He drew closer, his lips almost touching mine. I didn’t move even an inch. He gave me a small peck on my lips before completely giving me a deep passionate kiss.
