Meeting Her Again

Time passed, it was already lunchtime, and here I am using my old flip phone. I was checking its contact info and I realized how lonely a person I was before, other than my teacher, father, and my two childhood friends I don't have any contact with another person.

Suddenly my stomach started to growl, I couldn't eat breakfast because of Tsubaki, I didn't want her to be late because of me, I stood up from my table and went directly to the cafeteria, I couldn't bother calling Ryota to come with me, looking at him now, he's sure is pretty popular in our class, besides we might be close right now, but we aren't in the future, we rarely get contact each other, even if we did meet we ignore each other.

But I have to admit that, it was my fault we became that way, it's because I was too focused on my project and didn't even bother to hang out with friends. I should do something about it so that our relationship in the future wouldn't be so awkward.

I arrived at the cafeteria, I went to the line and took my wallet, the money I have was a few thousand yen, it's already a big fortune to a junior student like me, my father send me a monthly allowance for me to use, but if I remember I should I have a part-time job at this time.

Without thinking about that part-time job. I decided to quit later since it would essentially waste my time. It would be better to invest my free time doing stocks.

I bought a dish that could make my stomach full, I didn't hold back spending the money in my wallet, this time he would take care of his health, it was a top priority, I don't want to abuse my body this time, since I already achieved my goal of creating a cure of that damn disease, I can rest easy in this life.

While eating, I thought. 'I should start writing the Thesis about how to cure Friedreich's ataxia tonight.'

I continued eating my supposed to be breakfast and dinner, all of sudden at the corner of my eyes, I saw a blonde-haired girl pass right through me, I stopped my actions immediately I stood up from my table and the student around me was surprised by my unexpected action, they look at me with a weird expression, however, I didn't notice nor bothered to look at them, right now the only thing is my mind is.

'Was that Kaori? She just walked past me right?'

I started looking around for her, but I failed to see her, then I mumbled. "Was that just a hallucination? Was my desire to see her cause me to see illusions?"

I took off my glasses and rubbed my glasses, then after that, I wore my glasses and looked at my surroundings for the last time, then after confirming that she wasn't around. I sigh.

"It seems that I was just imagining it...whatever, let's continue to eat." Then I continued eating the dishes on the table.

However, little did I know that it wasn't a hallucination but rather, Kaori did walk past me, at the corner of the cafeteria, a blonde girl was observing me from distance, she stared at me with a sad expression.

"I avoided him again! That was my chance of finally talking to him...sigh* I hate myself for this, but I won't give up! Because tomorrow I'll be sure to talk to him!" After that, she continued to look at me, like a baka. (Lol)

Then after I finished my lunch, I left the cafeteria, at the same time Kaori also went back to her respective classroom.

The last subject just ended, it was mathematics, so I didn't listen to the subject at all, not because I hate that subject, in fact, it was the opposite, I already know too much, math at that level is no big deal for me, so instead of taking notes, I end up writing the thesis for the cure.

At the end of the subject, I'm not even 1% done with the thesis, since I need to describe it in great detail, plus I need a 3D model of the spinal cord, so there is no way I could finish this by just using a notebook, I need to use PowerPoint.

"Oi, Kousei, what are you doing?" Ryōta approached me and looked at my notebook. He started reading it and he was lost. He couldn't understand a thing, since the words I used were English.

"English? What's this all about? Are you making a novel?" He asked.

"No, it's a thesis," I replied.

"Th-thesis? Is that how you pronounce it? What's a thesis anyway?" Ryōta's pronunciation sucks, but he somehow managed to.

"Thesis is something like a theory, however with a defined proof that it's real," I said.

"I have no idea what you mean, but good luck with that, I'm going to my club now later~!" After that Ryōta just left him alone in their classroom.

"I'm alone huh...I should play some music with my flip phone." I took out the earphone from my bag and connected them to my phone.

The songs on my phone were very few, but at least it was better than nothing, then the music started to play.

"Kimi da yo kimi nanda yo oshiete kureta

Kurayami mo hikaru nara hoshizora ni naru

Kanashimi wo egao ni mou kakusanai de

Kirameku donna hoshi mo kimi wo terasu kara"

Hearing this music again, I couldn't help but smile a little, this song means a lot to me.

I started to lose track of time, my focus was to write the thesis, all of sudden a baseball hit my head, and I couldn't help but yelp in pain.

"Ouch! What the..!" I picked up the ball on the floor and realized that this scene is somehow familiar. I felt a sense of Deja Vu.

Then I looked behind me, but no one was there. However, when I looked down I saw Tsubaki hiding at one of the desks.

Deciding what to do, I said. "I can see your panties, you know?"

In an instant she quickly stood up and looked at her underwear, then she sighs in relief, she glared at him and exclaimed.

"What are you saying?! I'm wearing pants!"

"Is that so? Good to know." I smiled, the trick effectively worked.

"Huh-" Tsubaki realized that she had been tricked by Kousei.

"Kousei, when did you become such a bad guy!"

"Guess, besides you're the one to talk to, you just hit me with a ball for no reason," I said.

Tsubaki froze for a moment, then she avoided this topic, and said. "Anyway! What are you listening to?

She quickly approached him, and took the left earphone, and put it on her ear.

"Woah! Isn't this million's latest song?! The one that was for sale?!"

'Latest song? I guess for her, to me it's just an old classic.' I thought.

While I continued writing, she suddenly asked. "Do you have plans for tomorrow?"

If it was my teenager self, I would have found some excuse to refuse, but the current me isn't like that, besides knowing what's going to happen tomorrow, without a hesitation I replied.

"No, I don't, do you want to invite me or something?"

"Y-yeah I'm inviting you to go to the park with me." Surprised by my response, she thought that I would find some excuse to refuse, but sadly that was just the old me.

I have no reason to reject such a, request especially when it has to do with Kaori.

"So, you're inviting me on a date? Bold aren't you?" I teased her.

"Wh-what?! No! There is this girl from my class that asked me to introduce her to Ryōta, and he's going to be the only guy, so that's why I invited you!" She said quickly, there was a hint of blush on her face.

"Oh, so that's the reason my bad then, alright I'll go see you tomorrow then."

After that, tomorrow quickly came. I'm currently walking in the park. Yesterday I continued my thesis and I stopped because I filled my entire notebook. I gave up writing in my notebook, so I decided to call my father to buy me either a PC or a laptop, which he quickly agreed to buy me one.

I was prepared to explain to him why I wanted a PC, but to my surprise, my father was fine with buying me a PC, and I think it would arrive tomorrow. Now that I think about it, isn't a piano more expensive than a PC?

I continued walking at the park, and I arrived at a children's park. There I saw a bunch of children and a girl playing music above the mini stone camp. The girl was happily playing melodica. Seeing this makes me happy to the point that I can't describe it.

A tear fell from my eyes, and said, "Well you look at that...she looks like an angel…"
