New Sensei and the Test

Sitting at home after spending time with my team I clean the house a bit and change into a white jacket and blue pants also bring all my ninja essentials because later we'll be with our full teams for the first time.

Going downstairs and greeting my dad we eat and chat and walk around for a bit before deciding to head to the academy at the perfect time. While walking there though I suddenly get a bad feeling but it's fine we just had to take the long way and help a few old ladies they'll understand.

Getting to the Academy and walking through the halls with my dad behind me we slowly approach the classroom and I can hear team 7 talking to Ino and Shikamaru, I also hear someone whose voice I cant recognize. Walking up do the door and reaching out I hear my dad snicker behind me but its fine hes probably thinking about Icha Icha again. Everything seems to slow down as I open the door when suddenly I feel something hit my hair and bounce to the floor.

MC - "ah" I saw unenthusiastically as I look down at my side and see an eraser from the chalkboard when suddenly I notice the real threat...

Ino - "YOU'RE LATE!"

MC - "Oh sorry first a black cat crossed my path so I had to take the long way, than I had to help and old lately cross the road" I say while eye smiling.

Ino - "Well I guess you had a good reason" she says looking guilty.

"Dont listen to him Ino, he's just like his dad. Isnt that right Kakashi" says a tall dark haired man with a cigarette in his mouth and a small beard.

Kakashi - "hmmm I guess were a bit similar Asuma" says my dad as he walks in.

Asuma - "well team 10 is all here now so let's go" Asuma says while Ino walks up the apparently sleeping Shikamaru.

After walking for a bit we find ourselves at a nearby park where Asuma tells us to do introductions. I sit down on the very left with Shikamaru next to me.

Asuma - "okay I'll start. My name is Asuma Sarutobi, I'm fond of smoking and barbeque, I dont like being a long missions that keep me from home, my hobby is cooking, and my goal is too live a happy life. Okay we'll start from the right with Ino"

Ino - "Hiii my names Ino Yamanaka, I like cute boys and flowers, I dont like ugly boys or cleaning my room, my hobby is helping at my families store, my dream is to marry a cute guy."

Shikamaru - "I guess I'm next *sigh* what a drag, I'm Shikamaru Nara, I like shogi, I dont like things that are a drag, my hobby is cloud watching, my dream is to live like a cloud."

Asuma - "okay mini Kakashi you're up"

Looking up from my book at Asuma I pause for a moment before I close it.

MC - "My name is Sakumo Hatake after my grandfather, I like reading a quiet places, hmmm I dislike loud or stupid people, my hobby is reading, and my dream is to surpass Jiraiya in completed missions.

Asuma - "hmm big dream, well I suppose tomorrow we can see if you have what it takes. Meet me at training ground 11 tomorrow morning."

Soon after saying that I watch Asuma disappear leaving me with my Squadmates.

Ino - "so what do you think of our sensei" she says whilst turning to us.

Shikamaru - "He's nice I guess"

I open the book I has closed earlier and show them both the page revealing it's a bingo book showing Asuma Sarutobi. Shikamaru looks surprised for a moment before taking it and reading while Ino seems to be much more surprised just staring at us.

MC - "He's worth 35 million he's strong even among Jonin, he's also probably better suited to teaching than my dad considering his personality. I'm gonna head home my dad's probably already back."

Saying goodbye to my teammates, I start walking home with a book in hand. Turning around a nearby building a notice something strange with a fence ahead of me as I can clearly see a bulge. Someone's hiding against the wall? I think to myself. It doesn't concern me I'll just keep walking.

As I'm further down the road I hear shuffling behind me turning around I notice the bulge has followed me, and I see something else pink hair dipping into an alley. I see that's Sakura so is the bulge Naruto? I can't see the Uchiha but thats not surprising. Sighing to myself I turn around to face the direction they're in.

MC - "Team 7, what do you want?

"...."

Why aren't they responding? Was I wrong? I decide I'll just walk and if they follow me I'll lose them. Walking for a couple minutes I'm sure they're following me now so I turn and run into an alley then hop onto the roof. A few seconds later I see two members of team Seven run in.

Sakura - "We lost him how are we gonna learn about sensei now! You said we'd figure out something if we follow him Naruto!"

Naruto - "I didn't think he'd notice us so quick Sakura...."

MC - "So now you all come out huh? Why were you following me?" Looking up they see me leaning over the roof staring at them.

Sakura - "Oh we weren't following you dont mind us hahaha" Sakura says while pushing Naruto out of the alley and around the corner

Turning to my side I look at where I had found the other member hiding when I'd come up onto the roof.

MC - "You too Uchiha"

As I say that Sasuke come out from hiding and meets my gaze for a moment before hoping off the roof. "Time to go home" I say out loud

(Next day at training ground 11)

Ino - "Argh!!! Where is he!?"

MC - "Right here" I say standing on a tree behind here. I point up at the sun which is just off being in the middle of the sky. "I still have 10 minutes till its not morning" I smirk under my mask seeing Ino about to explode.

Asuma - "Now that everyone's here, today I'm testing you. All you have to do is land a hit on me, sounds good? You have till 4 starting now."

Immediately after he says that I run into the forest to hide with Shikamaru and Ino.

Shikamaru - "I read his bingo book info yesterday, he's good at close combat and has fire and wind release."

Sakumo - "hmmm are best bet is trap him in either of your clan jutsu right?"

Shikamaru - "Ya I was thinking the same, you should fight him head on and I'll pressure him with my shadow so we can get a hiding Ino to land hers."

Ino - "Sounds good to me"

After our plan was made we head back over towards Asuna slowly with us splitting up slightly on the way. Once we get close and I can see him I start to plan how I'll start this. My approach will change if hes willing to use his justsu at us and knowing my dad he probably told him he could against me. Keeping that in mind I climb a tree and move to one in the foliage hes standing near.

I know I'll have to take this seriously so I pull out tanto. I make eye contact with Shikamaru who's hiding to my right. Jumping down and swinging at Asuna from above he quickly turns and parries me with his chakra blades, I switch plans and aim for a kick to the side of his which he blocks and uses the opportunity to grab my leg forcing me into a position upside down. I drop my tanto and form the signs for a fire style jutsu at point blank "Fire Style..." causing him to throw me away and release my leg.

Jokes on him I cant use fire style I think to myself as I throw a kunai at him to let my grab my tanto as I rush him, but he quickly jumps away, I look down and see Shikamarus shadow beneath where he was. I quickly snap my attention to Asuma as I hear him say "Fire Style Fireball Justu", I stay calm and quickly form my hand seals "Earth Style Mud Wall" as I slam my hands down a wall of dirt arises in front of me. I see red as the fire spreads on both sides.

(Asuma Pov)

My jutsu was just blocked by a mud wall like Kakashi said would happen but I can't slow down as Shikamarus showdow pressures me from the forest behind me. I head towards the mud wall deciding to deal with Sakumo first, noticing Ino behind him hiding its probably the goal to get her mind transfer on me. Throwing a distraction on one side while I go the other. I turn and seem him facing my cloth and kunai and I reach out to grab him, before I reach him though the ground erupts with a hand reaching for my leg causing me to jump into the air to avoid it. In the air I barely avoid the headhunter jutsu when I hear Shikamaru behind me "Ino now!". I make eye contact with the girl as I see her stand up from the bush she was in before everything goes black.

(MC POV)

I get out of the ground completely to see the plan worked. I'm not a fool to think Asuma was serious but this is still a sign of good things to come. I walk towards Ino in his body.

Grab one of his kunai as I get behind him and place my kunai his throat while, Shikamaru stands next to me.

Shikamaru - "Ino you can release it now"

As he says that you can see Asumas eyes become more clear and he brings his hands up.

Asuma - "okay okay you pass" he says while laughing "since this is the start of team 10 I'll bring you all for barbecue" he says as I lower my kunai and Ino walks up to us celebrating but looking a bit disheveled after lying on the ground while using her jutsu.

Walking with the others off the training grounds with others Asuma turns to me

Asuma - "By the way, were you trying to fry me with a fire style so close to me?! He says a bit worriedly.

MC - "...."

Shikamaru - "He can't use firestyle...?"

As we keep walking I turn to see Asuma frozen behind us with his head down and a hand on his face, It brought a small smile to my face.
