First Real Mission

Since our team was made we've been doing D ranks like any Genin squad. I thought it'd be worse then it turned out to be, we had lots of funny moments bringing the team closer in the last few day. My favorite was watching Shikamaru try to calm down a kid we had to watch. We just finished our most recent job of painting a fence, now we're on our way to get another one since it didn't take very long. Arriving at the Hokages office Asuma opens the door to reveal team 7 is also here.

Asuma - "Oh Kakashi, your team also getting a new mission?"

Kakashi - "hmmm well we were... Naruto seems to think we need something more exciting" he says with a sweat drop looking at his student sitting on the floor.

I look at the 3rd Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, and give a light bow as a greeting.

Hiruzen - "hmm this might work... Asuma I'm sending team 10 and team 7 on a C rank mission, as I just told team 7 you'll be bodyguards for someone. Could you please come in"

As the door opens I immediately smell the thick scent of booze as an older man with glasses and a slight beard stands there.

old man - "What's this? It's just a bunch of damned brats!" he says before drinking from the bottle in his hand. "Particularly you, the smallest one with the idiot face. Are you really a ninja?". He says referring to Naruto.

Naruto laughs at his comment before threatening to kill him after realizing it was about him.

MC - "What an idiot, what do you think Shikamaru?"

Shikamaru - "This is such a drag..."

Ino - "He smells gross...." she says mock gagging.

After team 7s reaction was done the man introduces himself as Tazuna, a veteran bridge builder. Saying we'll be risking life and limb to protect him. That rouses my interest to say the least, hes mistaken though as at worst itll be bandits for a C rank. With Chakra even a 5 year old could kill your typical criminal so I'm not very worried about his remark.

(At the entrance to the village)

Walking up to the gate into Konaha I'm staying the back with Shikamaru and Ino watching Naruto make a fool of himself in front of our client. *tsk* I click my tongue thinking to myself that they should've just sent our team, we could handle a C rank without these idiots. I cant get why dad would pick them over me.

After Naruto was done looking stupid it seems he's causing more problems. He's arguing with the client about becoming Hokage, as if he could ever be Hokage I think to myself clenching my fist. I suddenly hear a noise to my right coming from above but as I look there's nobody to be seen, Oblivious to the fact that Asuma smiled slightly seeing my reaction. Shikamaru noticing turns to me.

Shikamaru - "Hm? What's wrong?"

MC - "Nothing, probably just an animal..."

Shikamaru - "If you say so"

After walking for a while I hear my dad explaining the different hidden villages to one of his genin. I listen even though I already know of them it's only the great nations that have shinobi like us the land of fire and the other 4 nations named after water, wind, lightning, and earth. All the villages have strong shinobi too, like the kages of each respectively. Sakura responds with praise for the hokage speaking of how strong he is, it's true the old mans a monster in his own right.

In his prime you could've probably made and argument for him being stronger than lord 4th or 2nd but it's hard to tell with how little information you can get on either. Lord 4ths time in power was far too short to see any achievements fall to his name, he did seal the ninetails which certainly proves his proficiency with seals and there's some record of achievements during the 3rd war but most sound absurd. Lord 2nd is even harder to tell simply because most of the info on him and his abilities are sealed away unfortunately. As for the first hokage the so called "god of shinobi" his strength with wood release and his achievements dwarf the others allegedly and I believe it with some of tales of heard.

After walking for a while I snap out of my thoughts noticing we've walked further then I'd thought. I notice something odd ahead of us because of my dad though. Seeing him look down I follow his gaze to see a puddle, slowly nearing it with my team, I keep my gaze near it but notice nothing thatd catch my dad's eye confusing me slightly. Actually when was the last time it rained? I know it's been a while right? Just to be sure I look at Asuma and mouth out "puddle" to inform him. He simply responds with a big grin as he puts a hand on my shoulder and we keep walking.

As we pass the puddle I hear a noise behind before I turn however I see two figures jump over and "kill" my father. Hmm a substitution, The two men quickly go and appear behind Naruto ready to kill him. However Sasuke steps in using a shuriken to pin the weapon they were using, a sharp chain connected to one another, to a tree forcing them to release the chain between them. Taking the moment of surprise from the other they rush towards Naruto and Tazuna but not before I and Asuma step in with myself already behind the one going for Naruto I swing my tanto towards his next only for the man to turn into water. Turning to Asuma I see his result was the same.

MC - "Damn water clones, the real ones are gonna be back"

Kakashi - "hmm you're right, and this makes this more then a C rank if were facing Ninja"

my dad says walking out of the bush "Sorry I didn't help sooner Naruto I didn't expect you to be unable to move" turning around to offer Sasuke praise for disarming them and Sakura praise for staying with Tazuna.

Asuma - "You're right Kakashi, this is above the mission rank we were given..."

As the two sensei keep talking I turn to the side to hear Sasuke provoking Naruto calling him a scaredy cat.

MC - "They don't really seem like much of a team do they...?"

Ino - "hmmm maybe they had a fight?"

Shikamaru - "Or they just dont like each other"

MC - "As long as they dont get in our way" I say turning to walk towards Asuma, he informs me and the team that we have a choice to make. Apparently the mission is B rank now but we can choose to keep going with the team 7 or head back, Ino immediately wants to go and Shikamaru begrudgingly agrees with her. My vote now is irrelevant but I wanted to go anyway to see more of team 7.

(Near the land of waves)

Currently sitting in a boat with my team next to us is team 7 in an identical boat themselves. Tazuna had to hire some people to ferry us since the large body of water could only be crossed and not avoided until the bridge was built. The water is covered by a thick fog, I can barely tell what time it is. I know its light out because I can still see at all but how long that'll last I cant be sure of. We should be fine since I know were close thanks to Tazuna.

As I'm reading I hear Ino gasp in excitement causing me to look forward only to see pillars coming out of the fog. Looking up I can see the massive bridge above us, it was truly an impressive sight. It was soon ruined by Narutos loud voice that could give away our quiet approach. I wasn't very mad however, I was actually quite excited because this told me we were finally in The Land Of Waves.
