Killing

Heizen saw a team of 6 people circling them in an imposing manner. The leader who asked sarcastically was dressed in full body armor and a helmet with a powerful axe at his back. While two were archers, one was a mage, and the remaining were warriors with a sword.

"Balor, don't mess in the catacomb." Bernard's face was ugly.

It was an unwritten rule in the catacomb not to attack teams returning after adventure. Otherwise, everyone would just sit at the gate to catch those who returned.

If everyone began to do this, who would come here? Everything would be messed up.

"Heh, who said I am attacking you? I am just asking for a share of spoil from my friend. After all, you Seeker Adventurer teams need to settle the debt." Balor said in disadain.

He also knew the rule but if nobody saw him taking action then who cares? After all, this wasn't the first time they took action. It would be good if they were aware; otherwise. Balor thought with malice.

Moreover, he had a beef with the Seeker Adventurer team, so he was even more aggressive.

"Balor, do you really want to become an enemy of the Seeker Adventurer team?" Bernard cursed.

It wasn't that he was scared of fighting, but their level and gear were mismatched. Furthermore, his team just went through a hard fight.

Heizen looked at their quarrel and guessed something. So, he immediately looked at the stats of Balor, the team leader.

[Name: Balor]

[Race: Human]

[Level: 16]

[Potential: 2 Star]

[Profession: Warrior]

[Skill: Critical Strike, Berserker rage, Combat Reflex]

[Bloodline: None]

[Authority: None]

After looking at the stats of Balor, he also looked through the stats of the remaining ones. However, they were all around level 15 or 16 and didn't have any special skills. The only thing they were good at was their gears and weapons.

"We were already enemies when your team leader looted our Dawn Adventurer team," Balor said in disdain. He was getting impatient with all the talk.

"That was a fair competition. The treasure in the forest had no owner. How could that be stealing." Bernard raged.

"Hah, this is also fair then. The treasure in your hand is also ownerless, especially after you are dead." Balor mocked while placing his both arms behind him.

Bernard had an ugly face. He didn't want to involve his friends in this dispute. They just survived a disaster and were quite tired. It wasn't good to fight in this condition. So, in the end, he tried to compromise.

"Balor, let's just leave this matter here. They aren't from the Seeker Adventurer team. I will compensate you with a few mana crystals this time. What do you think?"

"Oh? Then it is easy to say. 100 mana crystals, not one less and you can go."

Listening to this blatant extortion, Bernard was having a hard time. After much consideration, he finally decided to let this matter rest after paying a fine.

While Bernard was arguing with the opponent, Heizen was paying full attention to their movements through his divine sense.

He saw that while the leader was demanding the mana crystals, he was sending signals from behind with his hands.

The archers and warriors had already begun to prepare their stance. The mage was silently casting the spell. They never thought of letting them go from the beginning.

"Sigh," Heizen sighed in his mind. He was already exhausted and irritated from the previous death encounters. He almost went crazy from the pain just now and hadn't found the time to rest his mind.

Now, these clowns were scratching his ear and stepping on his face with disregard.

Suddenly, an unknown rage swept through his entire being. He just killed a lord-level figure and these low-level clowns were jumping here.

"Elderwood's wrath."

Suddenly dense vines appeared everywhere and tied all the 6 people around.

"Ghost Step," Heizen vanished from his position.

"Raging Strike,"

With a low shout, a crescent light cut through the head of an archer who was getting ready to fire.

"Shadow Step," suddenly Heizen's body disappeared and appeared next to another archer on the other side.

"Swoosh," another head flew through the air.

Everything happened so fast that nobody had time to react. Everyone including the Heizen's team was shocked.

"Damn it, fight, fire." Balor was perplexed and immediately ordered his teammates to fight. The vines weren't a problem for him.

"Swoosh," however another head flew through the air. This time, it was the mage who died. The crescent light even cut through his mana shield like tofu.

"Critical Strike," Balor fired his axe in anger towards Heizen after activating his skill "Berserker rage."

However, for the 'Critical Strike' to work, you must first hit accurately. Before the attack even landed, Heizen disappeared from his position.

"Swoosh," another person was killed. The warrior's chest was pierced from behind without his knowledge.

"Damn it," looking at the dead teammates, Balor was going crazy. In seconds, only the two of them remained.

He was just trying to intercept Heizen when Bernard quickly arrived in front of him. After being shocked, he finally arrived to support. Others were also getting ready for a fight.

However, they were worried for nothing. With another crescent light, another warrior died. He tried his best to parry the attack, but Ghost Step with Shadow Step was impeccable. He was caught off guard even when he was ready.

"Bernard, you cannot kill randomly in the catacomb," Balor yelled in desperation.

He was now regretting his decision. He never thought there was a madman in the opposing team who would kill for a simple conflict.

"Hah, don't act like an innocent person. This is all your fault." Bernard naturally supported Heizen.

Although he didn't know why Heizen suddenly attacked, he couldn't back out of the fight just because of it.

"Clang," the axe and sword crossed each other in a loud sound. However, Bernard was at a disadvantage since his level and gear weren't on par with the opponent.

Just then a white light swept through the neck of Balor intending to detach it from his head.

"Fuck," however, Balor accurately parried the attack with his axe and distanced himself from Heizen who appeared behind him like an assassin. His skill "Combat Reflex" was no joke. He was just caught off guard at the beginning.

'But miss one step, and you're always behind.' Heizen had already killed his teammates. Now, he was a bird trapped in a cage ready for slaughter.
