A man, born in Greece, his family, descended from slaves or slavs.
He has a medium build, he is wearing a white chiton (tunic), it hangs from only one shoulder.
He has a pale complexion.
He is walking down a street made of cobblestone.
He comes across a man who he has no feelings of comradery, but a great deal of hatred for.
He has a dark brown complexion.
The two men hate each other.
They have known of each other since they were children.
The pale man is known as "John." He was picked up by the Vatican when he was young and an orphan.
The dark brown man is named "Marcus." He is of noble blood and is a very capable soldier.
Once Marcus and his friends made fun of John when he was younger. John always remembered that.
John was also a part of group who was sent out to kill a close friend of Marcus for blasphemy.
Many times they shared disparaging insults towards one another.
It seems that they always see each other in the streets, it should be much less likely given how big the city is.
Of course, the route they take for their respective duties just happen to coincide.
Of course, both of these men are prideful, and neither would even think to change their route. If someone were to suggest that to them, it would be the biggest insult of their life.
They are men, should they be afraid of a pig or a dog?
The street they are in, happens to be more of an alleyway, is just big enough for a carriage but would hardly ever be used for such reason as it is more of a residential area.
There is no one else in the area, it is sunset, soon to be too dark to see anything at all.
They walk straight towards each other, John can feel that Marcus is going to try to kill him.
John pulls out his sword in anticipation.
Marcus does the same.
John swings his sword, Marcus steps back while also defending against the the tip of John's sword.
"Have you come to kill one of God's children?"
Marcus swings his sword, John strikes hard against it, while also swinging as a counter. He misses as Marcus steps away again.
".......Swine, you are not a child of god, you are as much of a child of God as the donkey in my stable."
"... I see you not only disparage my name, but also that of the church"
"The church will not save you"
Marcus swings again. John aims for his wrist, but hits the base of Marcus' sword. Marcus anticipates him to gain more spaces for another swing, moves his blade upwards and meets John's blade before it can descend downwards again. This allows him to plan one step ahead once more as they are both tangled together, making it somewhat awkward for John to make another swing. This allows him to pivot to his left and swing towards John's right. He cuts off a chunk of his arm.
John screams out in pain, but Marcus silences him in the next moment when he swing his sword towards his skull, cleaving the side of his face, leaving it to look like a bloody rag.
