Hi I am Jerod and my soul was transmigrated to another world by a god on her first day unsupervised. As you can guess my migration was fraught with mistakes. Join Jerod in his mistaken adventure in a new world filled with magic and mystery. He will travel with his best friend who is now an AI?
'I knew this kid was holding back. He was so nonchalant when he did that first wind magic. I wonder how much stronger it will be with his full focus. Being able to use magic at three years old is already so amazing.' Madam Zell watched Jerod expectantly as he looked at the bed with more determination.
Jerod gathered all of the wind magicles he could direct at the moment and directed them to blow in an upwards direction from under the bed.
'I haven't tried to do a full powered spell in a while. Last time we only did it with the earth element to make sure no one saw us and we were able to create a fairly large rock platform in the woods. I wonder how strong this will be'
Just then the bed was blown off the floor to the ceiling making a large crash sound. Madam Zell was so astounded that she just stood there rock still. She was so surprised that her face was frozen in the neutral look she had while watching the previous demonstration.
'W.. Wh... What the HECK just happened?!?! How could a three year old gather so many wind magicles? Not only that but he was able to direct them to blow upwards from under the bed instead of just blowing straight. That means he is able to make the magicles move according to his will. If he is able to do that already then he is only a step away from casting actual spells.'
Jerod froze after the bed hit the celling not knowing how Madam Zell would respond. 'Crap! I am glad we never did a full powered wind attack back home in the woods. This would have definitely caught someone's attention. Do you think she will be mad about the bed or the celling?'
Jerod turned around to look at Madam Zell hoping to see some emotion on her face to prepare himself. He didn't know if she would be mad about the damage or if the power shown was over the top. Unfortunately when he looked at her all he saw was the same expression she had on her face from the first breeze he sent out. 'Well she doesn't seem to be aghast at how strong that was or angry about the damage, maybe we are okay.'
"Sorry about the damage Madam Zell. I haven't used the wind element at full power like that before so I didn't know it would make the bed go so high."
Madam Zell was brought back from her thoughts at this apology.
"No, no don't worry about the damage. I have an idea. Let me step out for one moment to let my patients waiting know that I will be taking a break and to let your mother know I would like to perform some special tests. I will let her know you show some aptitude for magic and would like to get a better idea."
Noticing the nervous look on Jerod's face she smiled. "Don't worry Jerod I won't tell her about the damage or that you can use magic at such a young age. There are some people who exhibit magical aptitude at your age so it is normal for someone of my position to examine further."
Jerod relaxed a bit at this and nodded his head. 'I am glad she was able to pick up on what I was concerned about without having to say it. It's one thing for her to guess what I am thinking and another for me to come out and tell her. If I had to spell it out she would realize that I am smarter than a normal three year old.'
Madam Zell stepped out of the curtained area for about five minutes before returning. "Now little Jerod, let's go out this door to my private garden area. It is a specified area for magical experiments so you can use your full power on the other elements you can use. Remember you have to show me everything you can do if you want to learn the white and black elements from me."
Madam Zell then led Jerod to a spacious garden area from a door that was at the back of the room. The garden had a number of paths to walk around on that circled flower beds and areas with small copse of trees. They walked to the central space that was surrounded by trees that had multicolored bark on them.
"Do you see these trees Jerod? These trees are called Imperium trees. They are highly magic resistant. Since you aren't forming actual spells right now and only gathering the magicles together and releasing them you won't be able to damage them. So go ahead and show me everything you can do."
Jerod looked at the trees that were so foreign to him. He had never seen any trees like this on earth or in the woods near his farm. He decided to have Lindsay take a scan and mental note of what these trees looked like in case he came across some in the future.
"Okay, so I have shown wind, should I show earth on that patch of dirt over there?"
"Yes little one. That will be fine. Remember the best you can do."
Jerod focused on the patch of dirt and gathered the earth magicles around himself. Since Madam Zell didn't show any surprise about his wind usage he didn't hold back on this one either. After a few moments a platform 4 feet wide 5 feet long and 3 feet high rose up from the spot.
Madam Zell maintained her poker face well. She merely nodded and motioned for Jerod to continue.
'He.. he... so adept at using earth element too. Well wind and earth are two sides of the same coin so it makes sense that he would be able to attract the elements just as well. He can't be able to do the same with fire and water I am sure.'
However Madam Zell had to retract that thought in only a moment later as she watched Jerod cause a plume of fire to spring up near the closest Imperium tree. This was not the match stick size fire that common people are able to materialize to start fires in their kitchens. No, this was larger than a bonfire and was hotter than some spell casters fireballs. Jerod then followed up by causing it to rain where the fire was just lit. Most people could cause a small trickle to materialize near their hand, enough to wipe their shoes or water a small house plant. To be able to not only direct the water elements into the sky to cause it to rain down but to also provide enough water for it to seem like a normal spring rain was a magnificent feat.
'I... I... I just... How can a three year old be so blessed by the elements? This is unheard of! If he is able to use light and dark magicles as easily as he can the rest...'
Madam Zell was just about to compliment Jerod when she noticed that he was preparing for another demonstration. As she looked in the direction that he was concentrating she noticed a branch lifting off of the ground. Her eyes bulged in abject horror.
"H... Ho... HOW are you doing that!?! There aren't any magicles moving right now so I know you aren't using a wind spell!"
Jerod dropped the stick immediately hearing the shock in her voice. 'Uh oh... I thought that since she was an actual sorcerer that she would be able to use the spirit magic as well.'
Jerod turned around with a slight cringe on his face. He decided that the only thing he could do in this situation was feign ignorance. As a three year old it was easy to keep an innocent look on his face. "What do you mean? I just used magic to make it move."
"Magic? It certainly is magical but it's no magic I have ever seen! What color magicles appear when you are using that magic?"
"Hmm? They don't have a color. I just reach out to what I want to move and I can make it move. Can't other people do this too?"
"Absolutely not! To use magic without magicles is against the rules of magic! Never show another person you can do this! Ever! Do you understand?"
"O.. Okay.. But why?"
"Until you are old enough to be able to defend yourself and your family you must never show this to anyone else. If it had been someone other than me your parents would never see you again. They would immediately snatch you up and take you to the royal capital for experimentation. They would never let you go. Once they learned out to use this type of magic they would immediately get rid of you and not in the let you go home sense. This type of magic would give our country an advantage that they would not be willing to leave to chance for you to spread to other places. So promise me you will never use this magic in front of other people, okay?"
"I promise"
Jerod maintained his innocent look while speaking with Madam Zell about this. 'Well Lindsay I really messed up this time. At least this person seems to be really good natured or we might have just failed our mission without even getting a chance to really start.'
'Don't be too hard on yourself Jerod. There isn't any way we could know that no one else was capable of spirit magic. Now we know at least and we can keep ensure we don't make the same blunder in the future.'
"Now Jerod. You cannot show your full power outside of this place either. Do you understand? What you have shown me is beyond what a three year old can do. Heck it's beyond what students in magic academies can do after two years of schooling. I guess you already know how dangerous it is which is why you haven't been going on a magic spree at home."
Jerod nodded in response. 'Crap... I guess she is really good at hiding her emotions on her face. I just thought that the examples were within her expectations.'
"Good. Now little Jerod a promise is a promise. I will teach you how to call the light and dark magicles. I want to have a chat first though. You are three years old but you seem extremely bright and capable. Seeing your manipulation of magicles you have to at least have the intelligence of eight to ten but I would guess it is higher than that seeing how reserved you had to have been with practicing magic at home. So listen well to these words..."
Jerod nodded again. This sounded very serious and seeing how kind Madam Zell had been so far he gave his utmost attention.
"First..."
