I entered Lola Pelly's gate since the last time I remember. She told me it's a welcoming home for everyone, which is a bit dangerous, ain't it?
My Lola Pelly was so glad to see me as I saw her ecstatic face. And that's where uncle Alvin asked how I convinced my father to let me out. He probably must have heard the recent news about my freedom.
"I just had to be a good boy." I answered with a facade.
"That's good! I'm proud of ya." complimented uncle Alvin.
"So, grandma, how are you?" I asked towards Lola Pelly.
"Here, just happy," my grandma Pelly answered, "because you're finally here. I've been looking for you for a while now. Well, a long time now, if I were to be honest."
"Oh! Well, since you missed me and like I promised, whenever I go outside, especially the first time when the pandemic ends, I can come inside your home, right?" I smiled charmingly at her.
As herself being charmed by my charismatic smile and swayful words, "Aw, thank you, dear. I didn't think you'd be so thoughtful…"
"Of course! Grandma," I grinned at her, "I'll be here every day if you want me to."
"Oh, Klei. You've grown so big! But you don't have to worry about me. You didn't need to do that. I promise you I can be fine on my own here. I just missed you, my favourite grand child… here, have some money. As your freedom present, I'll give you 500."
"I-" I flushed, "But, grandma… you don't have to…" despite my greed and manipulation for money, this one I couldn't take, I am too shameful to take this, especially the amount, "No please, grandma, keep it, please, for my sake."
"No, no, no! You take it. I insist, Klei. It is for you. It is my gift for you and my appreciate for you coming here to see me in your first day outside."
"I-… thank you, grandma, if you insist. I shall take them. Thank you!"
I hugged her tight to show her how much I've missed her all this time.
"I'll go out to buy myself something delicious with this money and come back soon, alright, grandma?"
"Of course! Enjoy!"
I went to Barney's Burgers (no, not the dinosaur), and they welcomed me.
"Oh! It's that British boy again…" the clerk lady murmured to her male co-worker, "I want to badly take his order, but you have to take my place. I'm too nervous!"
"Sure! Anything for my crush." he said, whilst glaring at me.
"Haha, sorry, but I only like you as a friend. Go on, talk to him, take his order." she smiles and goes away into the staff room.
I came into the counter after literally observing everything that had just happened.
"Hello, welcome! Can I take your order?"
"I would like a burger with lettuce, and tomato (pronounced as TOW-MAH-TOW in British), with, ugh… ranch."
"Alright, so let me get this straight. A BAH-GAH, wiv LE-IS, and TOMA'OW, wivv RAUNCH? Haha, just kidding! I love the British accent, man."
I just rolled my eyes.
"And what drink would you like to have?"
"Can I get a-" and that's where I stopped, as I see his malicious face, "A glass of water (wader, pronounce in American)."
"Don't you mean a BO'O'WO'WA?!"
"Can I see the manager? So I can have you fired from your job, all because your crush is in love with me and she friend-zoned you and you had to be so petty about it?"
"No, please! I love this job. It's the only way I can be with her!"
"Now that's just some low functioning psychopathic vibes, ain't it?"
"YE INNIT?!"
I sighed, trying to control my patience. "You, me, let's take this outside."
That's where he pulled out a knife to threaten me, saying if I get near his crush, he will kill me. The fact that we're alone inside his shop thinks he can't get caught on 4K. As a worker in this place, he sure doesn't seem to know about the CCTV cameras in here, huh?
"Come on! Stab me! I bet you're scared! Because you'll just get banged by a gang of criminals inside the prison bathroom."
And that's when he's been angered by my taunt that he would actually do it just to prove he's not weak. That's when the clerk lady came back to see what happen and tried to push me away to save me.
I was about to counter-attack it but she had to save someone by her own instinct against her will. And she got stabbed.
"See what you did, mate?" I spoke, but this time mocking his Filipino accent. And just left. Not sharing any empathy for what happened because I did not come to buy a burger, or come to impress the girl like the usual when my father used to take me here, but that man used to be a bully back in my high school, always insulting me for being a smart nerd. But also jealous that despite I'm a nerd, I still got all the girls.
Now he didn't study like I did, he worked at a fast-food restaurant. And myself? I dropped out because of that sucker.
Oh! Don't you remember him? That's the main guy back in chapter A - III Backstory Pt. 1 (REVISED). You should see it. I've been waiting to do this since I dropped out just to be stuck in that asylum for years. Now he's going to spend time in prison for attempted 2nd degree murder and 3rd degree manslaughter.
