[Spin]
I clasped my hands together, head bowed as though I were at church. "To all that is holy, please, just this once, give me good luck. I swear I'll stop complaining about the Gacha if you bless me now. Okay, maybe not stop, but at least I'll complain less. Also forgive me if I'm praying wrong."
The Gacha wheel slowed, and I held my breath, eyes fixed on the shimmering display. The slots ticked past countless options—some glowing gold, others with that dull gray I despised.
Finally, the first spin settled.
[Shapeshifter]:
A skill that allows the user to change appearances.
I blinked. A skill to change appearances? That could be useful. No scratch that this skill was one of the best things I have gotten recently and will come in Handy in several situations.
"Okay, not bad. Next!"
[Spin].
The wheel spun again, this time landing on another skill that made my eyes widen.
[Doppelganger]:
A skill that allows the user to create clones of oneself. The clones created are 1/10 of the user's maximum power. Upon death host will retain all memories of the clone.
Note:- The Clone works like an actual human body and after death the blood and flesh require 1-5 minutes to fully evaporate. The Host won't feel any pain or damage delt to the clone.
Now this was something I could work with. I had a lot of tasks piling up—training, spying, maybe even sneaking into places I shouldn't. With this skill, I could delegate and save so much time.
I stretched my fingers before initiating the final spin.
[Spin].
This time, the wheel seemed to take longer, teasing me with glimpses of rare items and skills before it finally stopped.
[Kyrie Eleison]:
A modified version of the original spell imbued with Holy Power, granting it an effect of judgment against evil. Also works efficiently against spirits, vampires, undead, and other malevolent entities.
"Kyrie Eleison?" I repeated aloud. "What is this? Some holy smiting skill?"
Garuda, perched beside me, tilted his head. "A powerful boon. Your prayers seem to have been answered this time, Master."
I nodded, still stunned. "Yeah, this is actually good—really good. The Gacha might finally be turning over a new leaf."
I reviewed the skills, imagining the myriad ways I could use them.
[Shapeshifter]: The ability to disguise myself meant I could infiltrate or eavesdrop on anyone. I could even prank Snape by becoming Harry Potter for a day!
[Doppelganger]: My clones could be sent to attend boring classes or even stand in for me during menial tasks. Plus, if I ever faced danger, they'd serve as excellent distractions.
[Kyrie Eleison]: The description alone sent chills down my spine. A spell against evil? It felt like a direct counter to the dark forces lurking in the wizarding world. Voldemort and his followers wouldn't stand a chance if this worked as advertised.
"Alright," I said, turning to Garuda with a grin. "This haul is not bad at all. The system must've felt bad for all the trash it gave me earlier."
Garuda chuckled softly, his golden feathers shimmering under the light. "What will you do with these gifts, Arthur?"
I paused. That was the question, wasn't it? The skills were impressive, but they needed to be honed and utilized wisely.
"Well, first thing's first—I need to test them. Let's start with [Doppelganger]."
Closing my eyes, I summoned the skill, focusing on the idea of creating a clone. I felt a slight drain on my magic as a shimmer appeared beside me. Moments later, there I was—another me, albeit slightly dimmer and less refined in appearance.
"Whoa," I muttered, circling the clone. "This is… weird."
The clone mirrored my movements, its expression blank but its posture identical to mine.
"What's two plus two?" I asked it.
"Four," it replied in a monotone.
"Okay, functional. Not bad." I grinned and decided to dismiss it, watching as it dissipated into thin air.
Next up: [Shapeshifter]. This time, I focused on changing my appearance into someone I knew well. With a spark of magic, my body shifted, my features morphing until I stood as a perfect replica of… Hagrid.
Garuda burst into laughter, his voice echoing like the toll of a bell. "Master, I doubt your body can handle Hagrid's size for long."
He was right—my back felt like it was about to snap. I quickly reverted to my original form, clutching my spine. "Yeah, maybe don't go for giants next time."
Finally, it was time to try [Kyrie Eleison] and after some thinking I decided Against it as the Spell required a Chant and I didn't want to hurt anyone due to my recklessness.
I turned to Garuda. "Hey, you're not evil, right?"
He raised a brow. "Master, I am your loyal partner. Do you truly question my allegiance?"
I chuckled, dismissing the spell. "Just kidding. Relax."
Finally, the Gacha had come through, giving me tools that could genuinely shape my future.
"Let's see what trouble I can get into with these," I muttered before turning back to start my training.
