The frigid shroud of the night gradually disappeared as the burning wrath of the sun started to engulf the woodland. The birds began chirping while the vigorous trees flailed their arms horribly.
Daniel's nostrils were filled with a strong scent of blood, and the rough tree branches caressed his face as he dragged his heavy body through the forest, making a crisping sound every time he stamped his boots onto the dry leaves.
Subsequently, Daniel's momentum began to wane, but he forced himself to get to his feet and kept moving forward as if a dangerous animal was pursuing him.
...
After nearly an hour of walking, Daniel's expression suddenly grew puzzled because the dry leaves and broken tree branches crackled on his back.
He swiftly retreated behind the tree, muting the noise he was making. He took a minute to consider all possible solutions to this situation, weighing each one and attempting to identify the best one.
Subsequently, The marching foot halted a few meters away next to him, causing his curiosity to peek exploded in his soul. Fortunately, Daniel had strong self-control, so he concentrated his entire thoughts on devising the best escape route.
"We know where you are hiding, D-don't hide any longer!" a man exclaimed in a worn-out voice.
Those phrases made Daniel's body freeze as his heart rapidly thumped against his ribcage, but after giving those words some thought, Daniel decided to play along and pretended he was deaf and hadn't heard the man's declaration previously.
A minute later, the forest was unexpectedly shaken by a loud blast. Daniel saw a gunshot pass directly through the ground next to him. The bullet's impact destroyed the dried soil and sprayed some dust in his eyes.
He grunted and began to rub his eyes with both of his hands while continuing not to reveal himself.
A masculine voice yelled again, "come out now, we know you were there... come out if you don't want us to rain some bullets on you!"
This time, Daniel didn't disregard their warning; instead, he cautiously extended his right hand outside the tree while continuing to rub his left palm over his eyes to clear them from dust.
To see if his opponents would shoot him or not, Daniel carefully stepped one foot outside the tree while concealing the rest of his body.
After a little period of anticipation, Daniel realized that they were not shooting him, so he began to walk towards the vacant land next to the tree with his hands in the air.
While he was walking Daniel decided to cast a glimpse at his adversaries, and what he saw caused him to sigh with relief.
He saw ten mercenaries wearing black and green polka dot pants and shirts, some of them had their eyes partially closed and noticeable eye bags. Lastly, they were all holding guns in both hands.
The mercenary's captain swallowed his spit before gently raising his palm and pointing it at Daniel. Three mercenaries began to advance toward Daniel; one of them trembled while holding handcuffs, while the other two warily leveled their rifles in Daniel's direction.
The soldier pleaded with his thought, "Ahh please don't resist and give up already," as he tried to calm his racing heart.
The mercenary with the handcuffs marched on toward Daniel as his two teammates halted three meters away to properly aim their weapons.
The man ultimately approached Daniel; he yanked Daniel's hand and attempted to pin him down, but before things went as planned, a fist was delivered directly to his jaw, sending him flying and crashing onto the tree.
The mercenary's companions were alerted, and they immediately aimed their guns toward Daniel. However, Daniel continued to rampage and even charged onto the gunner in his front without giving a thought to their weapons.
"what's wrong? That old man didn't give all of you permission to shoot right?" Daniel announced as a threatening smile flashed across his face.
All the mercenaries shivered as they digest Daniel's remarks, however, they still chose not to give up. They quickly hid their guns and grabbed their survival knife out of their luggage.
They all cautiously surrounded Daniel to corner him and neutralize him. but After a few minutes.
...
"arghh! crap! Help!..." As they fought Daniel, terrible screams and cries started echoing through the trees.
After a few minutes, a man suddenly stumbled onto the rough ground while cowering against the edge, staring at the horror that was happening right in front of him.
"pls pls don't kill me," the last mercenary pleaded as he pressed his body against the slippery tree and covered his face with his palm to conceal the terrifying scene in front of him.
"They simply weren't conscious. For the time being," retorted Daniel with a dead stare.
Daniel prepared to put an end to the fight by raising his foot. When the kick was about to land a pocket watch suddenly fell to the ground and rolled towards Daniel's foot. When the pocket watch was opened, a family was depicted.
At first, Daniel didn't care about the photo, but when his eyes landed on a familiar child who appeared to be approximately 5 or 6, his heart suddenly tightened as his breathing became increasingly difficult.
Daniel clicked his tongue and glanced at the miserable man. "You know how to help your comrades right? Here," remarked Daniel as he threw a pack of bandages onto the man's side.
Without waiting for the man to respond, Daniel hurriedly escaped while tugging on his injured body and using the trees as an assist. After straining his sluggish body for a few more hours, Daniel suddenly felt a sharp ache in his thighs.
He immediately plunged to the ground due to the sudden pain. He promptly glanced down at his thigh and noticed a purple bullet pierced through it. Blood from his thighs covered the floor and stained his clothes.
Even though the pain was excruciating, Daniel was able to crawl. He continued to crawl till he found a tree where he could hide.
He hurriedly plopped his body up against the tree as soon as he got behind it, he tore off his clothes and sat down. His hands began to tremble as he stroked his injured thighs with a soft garment; he warped it tightly while groaning in pain.
Daniel didn't have much time to breathe a sigh of relief because a flurry of footsteps rushed straight for him.
Daniel was startled by the rapid advance of the audible rumbling, but after a short while, another crackle could be heard in front of him.
After a brief period, another crackling sound resounded on both of his sides. Daniel did not move, only stared at the dull ground.
"so I'm finally caught," Daniel thought as the emotional pyramid blazed on his hearth.
Daniel rested his body down on the tree and waited for his pursuers since he knew he couldn't escape with this devoted body.
After a brief period, the bushes in front of him started to stir ferociously.
Daniel saw three soldiers that were dressed in raven-black clothing, with a bandolier fastened around their thighs and shoulders and a black mask concealing their faces. As they moved forward, they were aiming a fine rifle at Daniel's head.
The earplugs were shoved into the man's ear. The man spoke in a cold voice, "target confirmed, batch 24, code 01 is here laying helplessly."
An elderly man's voice replied, "bzzt bzzt, good job, now bring the traitor here at the helicopter."
The soldier looked at Daniel while nodding his head. He rumbled his hands on his leather bag and snatched a purple injection.
After making a gentle approach he crouched down in front of Daniel. He muttered, "welcome back traitor," and injected Daniel with the purple substance. After a little period, Daniel experienced a quick loss of strength.
Daniel's hair was seized by the man, who then started to pull him out of the woods, leaving a rough mark on the ground.
Daniel's expression was bewildered as he was being pulled. He saw one, no, two soldiers, but after watching for a while, he noticed 100 soldiers steadily advancing behind him.
Daniel also understood at this point that all of his previous foes were merely props to hold him off until the main force arrived. "So everything is planned, huh?" Daniel announced, using his thought.
After a short while, the wind breeze suddenly intensified, causing the leaves and tree branches to swing erratically.
After a few more seconds, Daniel suddenly flew and got slammed onto the sturdy metal. "You have no idea how long I've been looking for you, 01, you're finally here," an old guy murmured as he slowly walked in Daniel's direction.
The moment the voice reached Daniel, he started to tremble. Daniel yelled, "I don't give a fuck, old ass fucker!" as he clenched his fist so tightly that it began to bleed.
When the old guy finally arrived in front of Daniel, he knelt before him and repeatedly gave Daniel's cheeks a gentle slap. "Don't be like that," the old man remarked, "We just met after many years."
In response, Daniel spit and hissed at the elderly guy. The elderly man simply rubbed the split out and stood up, his attitude remaining unchanged. "put subject 01 on the helicopter and will go right away!" announced the old man.
...
At the top of a large mountain, two troops could be seen eyeing Daniel's situation from 3,500 kilometers away. One was using a telescope and a walkie-talkie leveled on his ear, while the other was lying on the ground clutching a JTF-2 sniper.
The man with the walkie-talkie had a troubled look on his face. "They are currently getting ready to go, therefore your choice is crucial right now sir."
A man's tongue clicked, and he started to perspire heavily. "Daniel, I'm sorry," the man said to himself. With a guilty expression on his face, the man announced, "I order you to shoot."
A deafening bang was heard when the man's order got delivered. shaking the tranquil forest and sending the birds soaring out in all directions.
The shooter responded, "mission accomplished sir," as a cloud of dust enveloped their location.
...
Daniel was about to board the aircraft when a large portion of a bullet suddenly ripped through him, leaving a sizable wound in his head. At the sight, which produced a bloody spectacle, Daniel's brain and eyes were splashed.
The individual next to Daniel yelled, "W-we're being attacked."
What?
Prepare your weapons.
Nooo!!
Daniel's brain only managed to process those three words before collapsing and going onto full organ shutdown.
