"The invincible does not exist, nor does the man who does not venture. No song is endless, no feast eternal!…"
As the Wind and Cloud 2 BGM continued, Clark found it increasingly irritating.
In the face of the dire situation, the music that had abruptly started playing was of no help, and there was no way to change it to leverage the golden finger for the situation at hand.
Left with no choice, Clark was prepared to risk severe injury and deploy his secret weapon to take down at least one enemy first.
"Just finish it… just finish it… just finish it…"
Just as Clark was ready to make a do-or-die effort, the sound of urgent police sirens suddenly approached from afar.
Clark had never found the sound of police sirens so pleasant to the ears, even more delightful than the music from his system BGM by leaps and bounds. Indeed, the arrival of the police sirens caused the three members of The Hand to visibly change their expressions.
Were they afraid of the police?
To say they weren't afraid would be a lie, but it wasn't a significant fear either.
However, the situation at hand was that they intended to kill these few individuals who had been a constant thorn in their side. If the police arrived and they continued their attack, it would inevitably lead to a confrontation with law enforcement.
With their capabilities, they naturally wouldn't fear a team of police officers.
But the question was, could they afford to confront the police head-on?
These were beings who had lived for over four hundred years, not some ignorant Frank D'Amico.
If they were to annihilate this wave of police, the situation would escalate significantly. Even under media and public pressure, the government couldn't just stand by. After wiping out one police unit, they might face ten units next, and after those ten, their opponents could very well be the military.
Continuing this way would eventually lead them into a battle against the state itself. Aside from being crushed to dust, what other outcome could they expect?
What about fleeing back to their home base in Japan?
Didn't they know who was covering Japan?
Today, they had sacrificed dozens of ninjas to lure out the members of the Vigilante Alliance, intending to eliminate this nuisance once and for all. They weren't looking to resolve a minor issue only to invite a major one they couldn't afford to provoke.
Having lived for over four hundred years, they wouldn't make such a rash mistake.
Thus, the three old timers exchanged glances and made the most prudent decision.
"Quick battle, quick decision!"
Following the Gambler's cue, the three ancient beings intensified their offensive.
Madame Gao, who was clashing with Clark, suddenly drew a bright sword from her cane. The blade, like a silver dragon, met Clark's incoming cloth staff head-on.
Clark's cloth staff, specially crafted by Hank Pym, was tougher than a car's safety belt and resistant to most blades. Yet, Madame Gao easily sliced it into pieces with her sword!
Taking advantage of the moment, Madame Gao thrust forward, her blade shimmering with numerous reflections targeting Clark's vital points.
Clark, having faced many dangers, remained calm even in the face of imminent death. He flicked his wrist, and a small staff shot out from his watch, aiming straight for Madame Gao's face.
As Clark bellowed "Enlarge!" the staff grew into a giant metal rod, smashing towards Madame Gao.
Madame Gao, caught off guard by Clark's unexpected weapon, hastily defended with her sword, managing to block the blow with her enhanced speed.
The impact sent Clark reeling back, his hands split open from the force, nearly colliding with Hawkeye behind him.
When a powerhouse faces an even stronger force, they're completely dominated.
And that's precisely the situation Clark found himself in!
Breathing deeply, Clark gripped the cold metal staff once more, determined to hold on until the police arrived to save the day.
As for his trump card?
That was most effective up close, with no chance of hitting a powerhouse like Madame Gao otherwise.
"Hey!" Just as Clark was being overwhelmed, a familiar voice rang out nearby. Turning, they saw a man in an Ant-Man suit charging at Madame Gao at incredible speed.
It was Hank Pym!
Clark's spirits lifted, but Madame Gao already swung her sword at Hank.
Facing her attack, Hank didn't dodge; instead, he leaped towards her, shrinking to nearly invisible size and striking her face.
"Boom!"
Madame Gao staggered under Hank's blow, screaming in pain.
As they looked over, they saw the centuries-old powerhouse with her right eye mangled, blood streaming down like tears.
Clark shuddered at the gruesome sight.
So, this was how the Ant-Man suit was meant to be used!
Compared to the gentle approach of Scott Lang in the movies, Hank's method was brutally effective,
