Chapter 235: Advancing to Sub-Father Level

As the music of "Wind and Cloud 2" started playing unexpectedly in the soundless void of space, a cold smile formed on Clark's lips. He looked at the furious Heberon, who seemed eager to kill him, and said calmly, "Do you really think you can defeat me just by taking advantage of my weakness?"

"Ridiculous!"

"Had it been my peak condition, with your strength, you might not have defeated me, but escaping with your life wouldn't have been hard. Today, however, you are destined to die here."

"Because…"

"I'm only left with one-tenth of my power!"

Heberon burst into contemptuous laughter upon hearing Clark's words: "Hahaha… that's hilarious! Even at your best, you might have been only equally matched with me. If I hadn't been cautious, the outcome of our previous encounters might have been uncertain. And now, in your weakened state, you say you can kill me?"

"Has the great Clark really gone insane from a temporary setback?"

Shaking his head lightly, Clark didn't bother explaining the terrifying aspect of having only one-tenth of his power left. Instead, he preferred proving it through action.

In the blink of an eye, Clark made his move, gliding past Heberon with a swift, almost ethereal motion. The next moment, Heberon's body was pierced by over a dozen blood spouts from vital points all over his body, struck simultaneously by Clark's sword qi.

Blood sprayed in the vacuum of space!

The BGM of "Wind and Cloud 2" successfully triggered the activation of one of the three great divine powers of Wind and Cloud: One-Tenth Power! This divine power could significantly enhance Clark's attack, accuracy, speed, critical hit rate, and overall damage output by multiple times, depending on his current condition. One-tenth power could increase attributes by ten times, two-tenths power by nine times, and so on.

As Heberon's life hung by a thread, Clark would not grant him a chance to turn the tables.

Right after Heberon fell into unconsciousness from his severe wounds, Clark reverted his rejuvenating hand back into a cloak, draping it over his shoulders again. Then, he lightly placed his right hand on Heberon. As a new BGM started playing, Clark began to feel a strange connection with Heberon, as if Heberon were part of his own body. He could even feel the pain of the blade wounds through this connection.

With the music playing, a milky white light emerged from Heberon's body, enveloping him completely. Under this light, Heberon's body began to shrink gradually.

In just a few minutes, Heberon had been condensed into the size of a pigeon's egg, floating above Clark's palm.

Simultaneously, Clark's vision expanded tremendously. He had gained a third eye, which, though independent, was connected to his bloodline. Heberon's Eternals genes and cosmic energy flowed through this connection into every cell of Clark's body.

This higher-level genetic fusion and absorption of cosmic energy led to a massive increase in Clark's power, breaking his previous limit and elevating him to a new tier of life. His strength multiplied several times in just a moment.

With this newfound power, Clark was now firmly in the sub-Father level category, far from the bottom of that rank. If this power were to be categorized using terms from immortal or fantasy novels, he might be considered at the mid-stage of the sub-Father level.

While Clark was still adjusting to this new level of power, a squad of Chitauri soldiers, attracted by the commotion, charged in his direction.

With a disdainful snort, Clark made no visible movement, yet the eye above him released a concentrated heat beam, cutting through the Chitauri squad and their vessels, turning them into space debris. The eye recovered instantly from any damage it sustained during this attack.

After clearing the Chitauri squad, Clark opened a portal and stepped through, arriving in the midst of the remaining five Chitauri motherships. His heat beams bisected two of the ships, turning them into cosmic fireworks.

He then entered another mothership, carefully damaging its core without destroying it too severely, and then used a portal to dispose of it.

The final two ships were similarly dealt with, significantly reducing the Chitauri army's strength.

Clark glanced at the floating eye and muttered to himself, "The eye refined from Heberon turned out to be quite useful. Since it's made from him, let's call it Heberon's Eye."

With that, Clark flew towards New York City. Every Chitauri soldier within a kilometer of him was effortlessly annihilated.

Though destroying the motherships should have collapsed the Chitauri army, one ship stolen by Zane remained, linked to a portion of the army that hadn't perished.

The Avengers, already finding it easier to handle the reduced enemy numbers, quickly drew the battle to a close with Clark's involvement. Thor destroyed a Chitauri vessel with his hammer, and soon, all Chitauri were vanquished. Their bodies formed a small mountain in the Manhattan area.

Although the battle resulted in over three thousand military and tens of thousands of civilian casualties, the victory and the alien technology recovered were deemed acceptable losses by the government.

Clark had already stashed away some personal gains during the battle, intentionally sparing some robust enemies and transporting their bodies through portals to a pre-arranged location for Hank Pym to shrink and preserve.

With the battle won, the Avengers regrouped. Before they could celebrate, Thor began to speak about the origin of the enemy, but Clark sternly silenced him with a look.

He then suggested finding a place to have a good meal, diverting the group's attention from the issue. Tony Stark proposed a newly opened Turkish barbecue.

Taking advantage of the moment, Clark whispered to Thor, "Don't mention the Bifrost Bridge issue yet. Even if Asgard faces troubles, we need a good meal first. After we eat, try contacting Heimdall. If it works, I'll accompany you back to Asgard."
