Walking towards the side of the room Sean found ice packs which had been previously used as torture tool and tied it to a cloth before pressing it against his swollen ribs.
"SSS....." Sean gritted his teeth while bearing the pain from his ribs. Limping towards the unconscious interrogator Sean slapped the green eyed man's face thrice to wake him up.
"Pak, piak, Pak.." the sounds of slap resounded inside the now quiet room waking the unconscious man up from pain.
"Mm. Mmm.." with his mouth tied the green eyed man made sounds clearly wanting to shout at Sean and possibly call for help. He had previously taped their interrogation using an MD and now that was taken away by Sean when he searched for useful tools carried by this Taliban.
"Where are my teammates?"
The simple question was met with a cold glare. Well obviously a member of a terrorist group wouldn't be willing to spill info that easily much less the man before him seemed to be a veteran.
Releasing a sigh Sean took a step back and looked up towards the ceiling. Looking at the not so easy job before him he felt stressed but knowing that nothing was in his hands made him loosen up a bit and the pressure which had piled up on his shoulder over the period of 3-4 days while in interrogation went away.
"One can never try to go against fate. What will happen, will always happen no matter how much one tried to stop them. I don't know where but I had heard someone say this to me. If lieutenant had listened to my advice we wouldn't have encountered an ambush, but being in this situation was my fate. If you hadn't been complacent in your method and had been cautious from day 1, I wouldn't have been able to escape your capture and being in this position despite being inside your own stronghold is your fate. But I believe that one can try their best to change the end result brought upon by fate. It's too bad that this doesn't apply to you.
You have only one end result and that is death. However you can change the method in which you die. Option 1 is easy death and that can be achieved by me asking you questions and you answering them. After finishing our little interaction I'll end you with this gun.
Option 2 is hard and painful death. This can happen if you fail to answer my questions. The choice is yours".
Well! what's your choice? asked Sean in a rather easy tone. Knowing that the man was a veteran and having worked as a interrogation specialist he knew that it was not possible to break such a person in a short amount of time and just posed questions in a simple manner giving the enemy threats to see if he could extract something and just like Sean had expected the man just gave him a cold stare with his green eyes.
"Ah! I see, so you chose the hard way eh! Well interrogation is really not my cup of tea and you and me we both know that I don't have time to be playing around with you. Since you screwed around with me for quite a while I'll do the same".
Sean went forward and cut the wrist of the green eyed terrorist and allowed him to bleed out. Further he also slashed the tendons on his legs making sure he would not be able to walk.
"Well then, cheerio mate. Slowly bleed out to death. Though it's such a shame that I would miss out on the scene where you embrace your death".
Saying his piece Sean just walked towards the door and opened it a bit to see how many men were outside and where exactly was he placed in. As he was wearing a Shemagh which he had taken away from the green eyed man, he wasn't exactly worried about his safety or discovery of his identity.
Outside the room was a dimly lit corridor which looked very similar to an old building corridor filled with cobwebs and cracks on the wall. It looked like building hasn't been painted since forever giving of a stale feeling. There were men wearing Shemagh while carrying the standard Ak's and guarding the place. Looking at me opening the door a man asked in Pashto as to whether Sean had finished the interrogation.
Sean kept his head a bit low to avoid eye contact and coughed every once in a while and made his voice sound a bit hoarse acting as if he had cold to explain the difference in his voice.
"He is a tough nut to crack. Get me some food and have it given outside. I'll be near the barracks for a bit". Sean said in a confident tone as he locked the door from behind and walked down the corridor with aim of exploring it.
Meanwhile within the underground prison in Hall family Gabriel remained still after the debacle with the guard and tried to recoup his strength as quickly as possible. From the daily torture he had been under severe stress physically and mentally and finally having his Qi coursing through his body made him feel relieved while his strength was constantly getting replenished.
Soon it would be evening and Gabriel knew that he did not have much time left. In case Jared came down for getting a kick out of torturing Gabriel then it would be 'game over' for him. With such thoughts he stared at the guards and at the entrance to the prison cell while thinking of a plan to get a guard inside his cell.
'Should I try to act in pain? Should I scream to attract attention or should I act like I am sick? No anything of that sort would be eye catching. I should be covert in my actions. I shouldn't attract more than one guard and his presence should not attract other guards. How to ho about it? '. Gabriel's thought process kept churning and playing different scenarios. He did not have much time and he probably had only one shot and if he missed it his life would probably end in this cell.
The key he had taken would sooner or later be discovered and there was no use in dawdling about. With such a thought he kicked a nearby stone against a metal faucet at the end of his cell. He had timed it by hearing the sound of the footsteps and accurately predicted the moment when the owner of the footsteps would pass by his cell.
"Ding". Sound of stone hitting metal perked the guard's attention as he walked towards his cell. Gabriel patiently waited and looked towards the guard who was standing outside his cell.
"Oi, what was that noise? " asked the guard while giving a suspicious look at Gabriel.
After the incident with the guard, the other guards were wary of Gabriel and did not wish to approach him unnecessarily.
"Who knows?" Gabriel acted in a mysterious way while giving a look towards the end of the cell which was pitch black from the outside and said "I heard noise from the sink and there is water dripping from the faucet, I think the tap might be broken".
Gabriel's tone was innocent and without any malice. He said it in a way as if he was having a regular conversation with the guard, making the guard almost believe that he was in an office talking to a peer.
The guard entered the cell and made his way towards the sink only to see that it was perfectly alright. Feeling tricked by Gabriel he felt pissed and was about to lash out only to feel his field of vision change to backward and see the guy who was supposed to be tied was free of his restraints and smiling towards him coldly.
The guard's back was drenched with sweat by the sudden change of events and tried to reach out for his sword and shout for help only to find he couldn't control his body and his vision blur.
"Eh!!" with confusion written all over his face the guard fell to his knees and took his last breath. His head had been twisted to 180 degrees making his body look both comical and horrifying at the same time.
Quickly undressing the guard before the next guard could pass through the place or anyone getting suspicious Gabriel wore the rather tight uniform and equipped the sword before getting out of the cell and closing it from outside.
Walking down the rather dim lit prison corridor Gabriel passed through one cell after another containing mostly of his former allies and comrades. Some were half alive with gaping wounds all over their bodies and some were in vegetable state making Gabriel feel a pang of guilt and swore in his mind to get revenge on the entire faction of Jared for his wife and all his allies and their families.
Lowering his head Gabriel went towards the exit as quick as possible in a fast paced walk. Since he was wearing the half mask granted to prison guards along with their uniform the guards he was passing by did not feel much.
Gabriel knew he did not have much time and had to escape as soon as possible as
"Hey!! prison break!!", there it was the thing Gabriel was worried the most.
A passing by guard had found the obvious lack of prisoner followed by the naked guard with his head twisted backwards setting alarms to the guard. As if beggars starving for food had heard the shouts of offering free food on the streets the guards rushed towards the scene in frenzy making the quiet place noisy and the disguised Gabriel stood out like a sore thumb considering that he was running in opposite direction yet due to panic and fear of getting punished the inexperienced guards failed to notice the scene making Gabriel's escape almost successful.
However it seemed like fate had other plans and had decided to make Gabriel's life difficult as the two guards who stood near the exit saw the disguised Gabriel coming towards them and was quick to respond by holding the hilt of the sword.
