The next day I woke up earlier than I normally would— most likely because of how quickly I fell asleep due to my body's tiredness last night.
This meant I had a few extra hours before the class for the day started— that's right i, I decided to go to school today even after everything had happened.
I thought school would be a good way to clear my mind— along with a good way to meet Rosaline again and hopefully talk to her more about the whole hunter thing.
As much as I didn't want to admit it— I wasn't dense enough to not realize I wasn't interested in her.
And while her being a hunter definitely made that a lot worse than it should be— I knew I could use it as an excuse to get close to her.
An excuse to myself that is.
If I made the excuse that I was only getting closer to her because I wanted to find out more about her being a hunter, and her family, I could at least justify the actions to myself.
Because if I didn't justify the actions— my actions would be against the very code of the witches.
But most importantly— it would basically be betraying my family over some girl I just met. That was simply foolish.
'Yet here I am thinking about her the first thing in the morning— trying to come up with a way to justify getting closer to her.'
As a sigh escaped my lips— I stood up from the side of the bed where I sat thinking— making my way over to the curtains to open them.
It was a ritual at this point to bathe in the early morning sunlight when I woke up— as such I didn't miss it a single day.
Opening the curtains— I was met with the waves of soft sunlight.
It's soothing feeling washing over my body— allowing me to calm down even further.
'Since it's so early, I should use this time to buy some of my school books. What was the store Lucy mentioned?'
I thought to myself as I closed my eyes— trying to recall the conversation from the hallway not too long ago.
'Red Clove Bookstore,' I muttered as I remembered the name.
'Quite an interesting name— I can see why they thought it was related to a witch. Or well— the rumors being that the owner is a witch.'
As I thought to myself— I smiled— Clove was often associated with witches by the common people— and rightfully so.
Clove was of great use to a witch, and while the public didn't know why exactly, they aren't far off with almost every witch using it.
Clove was great for amplifying spells or being used to create sacred places.
This is a common secret among the witch community, but the houses that witches live in— and where they commonly work— are often surrounded by Clove Powder in order to create a sacred place for the witch.
Remember how I mentioned witches were basically walking batteries because we were packed with magic? Well doing this with Clove was one of the most used— and common ways— to block sensors from tracking those magic.
Some witches even make charms out of them that they can carry around with them to block the magic— but that was less powerful.
My sisters even had a tattoo on their body that was mixed with Clove in the ink— giving them a faint layer of constant protection.
I would never want that— not only was it painful— it was basically useless.
"I better go grab all the books I need for the year,"
I told myself as I walked out of my room after the long internal monologue— coming to the conclusion that the name of the place was a mere coincidence.
As I made my way down the stairs and entered the kitchen, I could see the twins happily eating away— without a single sign of a hangover or tiredness from all the drinking they did.
'I can never understand how they look so fine after doing that almost every day. Damn.' I thought as I moved closer— their ears located me before their eyes did.
"You fought a werewolf?" I heard as soon as Cass turned around— her face painted with excitement.
"And you didn't kill it?" Followed up Hel— but her face wasn't as excited as Cass's, more so disappointed that I didn't kill the creature.
"Good morning to you too guys— yes I ran into a werewolf," I replied with a grimace because of their sudden questioning— but also because they still smelt of alcohol.
The worse part was I didn't even know if that was from last night— or today— because they had different clothing on.
"I didn't kill it because I didn't want to— plus it wasn't really a fight. It ran away after I hit it with a hex."
I said before they could interrupt me again; this time walking past them towards the sink.
I didn't see my mother or my father, so I could only assume they were still asleep— or woke up before me and had already left for whatever they had to do.
"Why didn't you tell us when you found it!" Said Cass in a somewhat pouting voice— honestly, I keep forgetting how old she truly was with how she acted sometimes.
Sighing as I used the hot water from the kettle to pour over some coffee grounds— making some fresh coffee for myself.
"You were both partying— and it wasn't even near the club. It would've already been gone before I could try to tell you."
Hel gave a small nod in agreement— looking at Cass who looked like she was going to argue back for a second before stopping herself.
She was probably more interested in actually fighting the creature than she was in helping me— that's just how Cass was.
"Did Mom contact the Coven yet? Or has she gone to do that today?" I asked the two— sipping some of the hot coffee from my cup.
The taste was just right— not too bitter but also not too sweet— the perfect hit to get me awake for the day and keep my body alive after the activities last night.
"She left earlier saying she was going to talk to the local keeper."
Said Hal as she finished eating her food— a plain salad that seemed disgusting to even me.
"I see— well I'm going to head out early too."
The keeper— a witch that was usually assigned to monitor a certain place and reported back to the Coven.
They were the ones that are supposed to keep track of any Hunters or other creatures that may be in town— so talking to them would be the right choice.
Personally, I've never met any of the keepers before because they are usually very secretive— meaning only the head of a Coven can meet them if they need to.
That meant my mother.
Meaning there was nothing to pry into anymore; so I finished my coffee and headed up to my room.
Getting ready for heading out— I took a quick shower to get the grim off my body from yesterday. After all, I didn't shower when I got back.
I put on my normal clothes— a long black sleeved top along with black jeans pants— and my usual black shoes. As you could tell— i liked the color black.
After making sure that I had everything needed for the day— including money in order to buy all the books I needed— I made my way to the front door.
"I'm heading off— see you'll!" I said loudly to the twins as I headed out the door.
It was still rather early in the day with the sun still rising into the sky properly. But even so, I could tell today was going to be a relaxing day since the clouds covered the sky above my head—cloaking me in a refreshing shade.
"Where was this place again—"
I muttered to myself as I wandered around the streets trying to find the way to the store that was suggested to me— I couldn't quite remember where it was.
But I'm sure I'll find it eventually.
That's why I didn't bother to look through the map on my phone to find the place— plus it will be a good chance to explore the town further.
Maybe I can even get an idea of where the hunters live in town— or maybe even find out where the werewolf is if it hasn't been killed yet.
This time I decided to take a right instead of left— heading in the opposite direction of the school. Since I had already explored the other direction enough.
And since it was so early in the day— not a single person roamed the streets of the town yet. Most likely all still asleep.
