"Are you that happy to get it back?"
Calix's tone had a hint of helplessness, directed to Leslie who kept looking at the opal jade pendant on her right palm. His remarks flowed chuckles out of her lips.
Closing her eyes, Leslie clasped the pendant with both of her palms. She brought it to her heart. Her softened voice replied to his inquiry.
"I didn't expect that... I'd get this pendant back this quick. Thank you so much, Calix."
Calix's lips melted into a smile, "You've been thanking me for so many times already."
"Hehe, did I?"
After Calix showed the jade pendant to Leslie earlier, bewilderment struck her. Tears quickly pooled in her eyes, threatening to roll down her cheeks.
Realizing that Leslie's emotions suddenly turned chaotic, Calix persuaded her to go inside the lounge. The teary-eyed young lady agreed while tightly holding the pendant.
