"No, thanks. I can walk by myself," Marissa firmly pushed away Blake's hand as he tried to assist her in getting up.
"I don't think you can walk," Blake persisted, bending down to lift her, but Marissa let out a piercing scream.
"No! I said No!" She stepped back, glaring at him. "I've endured more pain than this! This means nothing to me, so just get lost!" Her chest heaved with anger and frustration.
Blake froze for a moment, taken aback by her outburst, but eventually took a step back, giving her space.
Marissa made her way to the bathroom, stealing a quick glance around the bedroom as she went to change back into her clothes. The room's size indicated it was a medium-sized house, and even the decorations suggested he was living a different life now, unlike before.
