Chapter 43: Interlude

"Dammit!"

I look to the side and see Yasaka roar in frustration.

"What is it, Yasaka?"

She looks at me and releases a sigh.

"The hunting team cannot find them. They manage to hide their tracks from them."

I nod and say.

"I see. Tell them to return and rest."

"Are you sure? They will create more problems if you leave them be."

"That might be true. However, we will not let them cause a problem for us any longer."

"Oh?"

"We are done preparing. It is time to take the war to their territory."

Yasaka smiles at my words and says.

"Good. Do you need any help?"

"Can you defend Vindice while we are on the hunt? We need someone to watch over the other vampire faction. We don't want them to attack us thinking that we are in a weak state while we are focusing on the Tepes Faction."

Yasaka nods and says.

"I will tell some of my people to patrol around the area to ensure no one is attacking this city."

"Thank you. If there is anything we can do, please tell me."

"Don't think of it, Vale. We are an ally, and I do this to protect my people. Some of them stay here, you know?"

I smile and nod my head.

"Even then, please tell me if you need something."

"Of course."

Yasaka sits next to me and says,

"So, where do you want to start?"

"Hmmm? Are you going to join us?"

"Depend. There is a lot of work back home, but I can visit every now and then to join the hunt."

"Are you sure? Isn't it causing a problem for your factions? Helping another faction and all that."

"Nope~ We don't have any factions that will get angry at us for attacking the Tepes and Carmilla Factions."

"Really? Not a single faction will get angry from this?"

"Of course! The vampires might have a trade partner from an individual from another faction, but they never create an alliance with anyone. Not only that, they always leave a bad impression each time a faction wants to create an alliance with them. I remember Golden Dawn, a magic organization, wanted to make an alliance with the vampire race, but the meeting resulted in the Golden Dawn declaring a blood feud against the vampire. Even to this day, any vampire that sets foot in England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland will be hunted down and killed."

Yikes. What kind of behavior do they do to make the Golden Dawn declare that blood feud?

"So you don't need to worry about my faction getting into trouble. If you want more help, you can ask some of the magicians from the Golden Dawn to hunt the vampire, and there is a huge chance that they will send a group to help you for free."

"Really? Why don't they send help when the other group of vampire hunters try to do the same?"

"I don't know the exact reason, but I can bet it is because of their accomplishment. They never once made any progress toward their goal, and the Golden Dawn doesn't want their people to give their lives for nothing. However, the Millefiore Family is different. You guys give results and manage to push the Tepes Clan back. They will take this chance to finish the Blood Feud their ancestors declared long ago."

"I see."

Should I contact them? The magicians in my territory are a valuable asset to my family. However, they are independent magicians. They are not as knowledgeable as the people from an organization as old as the Golden Dawn.

Getting some people from the Golden Dawn to teach the magicians in Vindice will be a boon for me.

"Hmmm? Do you want to contact them, Vale?"

"Yes. The magicians in my family need someone to teach them a higher level of magic or something."

"Hmmm, they might be willing to do that as long as you offer them something in return. However, they are known as people who rarely accept monetary compensation for a favor like that."

"Really? Do you think the healing pod will be enough for them to accept that favor?"

"That might work. They might have a healer but cannot heal as fast as the healing pod. They will even send a well-known lecturer for that."

"And they will buy more healing pods after they notice the ability of the pod. Not only that, but the battery for the pod will also be a great source of income for us."

"Us?"

"What? Did you forget about it already? You are now a member of the Millefiore Family. No take backsies."

Yasaka laughs and puts her head on my shoulder. A war is over; it is time for healing before entering another war.

Tobias Campbell, the Chairman of Golden Dawn, looks at the letter in front of him with a small smile on his face.

"What are you smiling about, Chairman?"

Tobias looks to the side and sees a young man with golden hair and air that screams nobility.

"It is just a letter from Romania, Uther."

Uther Pendragon, the current head of the Pendragon Family, looked at his friend curiously.

"Another vampire hunter wants our help? They are all talking and have no action, my friend. You can ignore them."

"Yes and no. It is another vampire hunter who wants our help. However, they are not an ordinary group of vampire hunters. They bring results."

"Oh? Don't tell me…"

"Yes. It is from the Millefiore Family. The only human family that manages to defeat the Tepes Clan."

Uther puts down his cup of tea and looks at Tobias in interest.

"Really? I heard a rumor that they managed to repel another attack against their city. A few hundred fighters against thousands of undead and vampires."

"That is not a rumor."

"Oh? Tell me more."

"It is the truth. One of the magicians from here was in Romania when the attack happened. He even recorded some of the fight from the roof before joining the fight."

"Send a copy to me later."

"Sure. I will tell the others to make a magic circle to transfer the recording."

Uther nods and says.

"So, what will you do? Will you send people there? Defeating the Tepes Clan will complete the Blood Feud and let us open the door to the main vault."

MacGregor Matter, one of the founders of Golden Dawn, locks the vault that leads to the most powerful magic and weapons as long as the Golden Dawn is not fulfilling the end of the feud. This is happening because the descendants of the other founders do not want to fight to fulfill the blood feud. In his anger, MacGregor locks the vault and declares he will never return to England as long as the blood feud is still active.

Sadly, as much as they want to wipe out the Tepes Clan, they do not have the firepower to do so without the help of weapons in the vault. The only thing they can do is help other human factions defeat the Tepes Clan.

However, all the human factions they help either get defeated quickly or betray them.

That is why they decided to hold back from sending more of their members to Romania to help anyone there.

"I think I will send a dozen or two people there. If they make good progress, I will send more."

"I see. Can you send my daughter as well?"

"Eh? Are you sure? Le Fay might be a prodigy, but she is still young. Are you sure?"

"I know. However, I know that she will go to Romania when she hears about the news, and I would rather have her officially enter Romania rather than get there sneakily. It is also easier for you guys to watch her over."

"That is true. Very well. I shall personally watch over her."

"Eh? You will go there as well."

"Yup. The Millefiore Family tell me they also have a business offer for me."

Uther leans over and says.
