An Old Friend

Jayce stood close to the wall like a wallflower, the black plain mask hid his presence even more. His eyes darted around the room until it caught sight of someone he had least expected to see. Though half of her face was hidden behind the mask, he could still tell who she was from the way she walked and how she acted.

The longing in his eyes slowly turned into anger as she made her way to George. He squinted his eyes and clenched his jaws to stop himself from acting out, the champagne glass in his hand had cracked from the firm grip.

Her red dress swayed lightly as she danced with George. A pretty look that was supposed to be only for his eyes.

He placed the champagne glass on the tray of a waiter and quickly made his way to her, but he was suddenly dragged to the side by a human.

"Hello, little one." Ann smiled, forcefully pulling him to dance with her.

"I don't have time for this, let go of me."
