Where Were You

I can swallow the resentment and put on a smile until we get the contract. I will not lose everything I've worked for because of him. He has already caused me enough pain and suffering, he's not going to give me anymore. "Mr. Morgan innocence has been proven through the hard, honest work of the investigators that handled the case in the UK. We had no issues releasing any and all information that they requested and after the hotel released the video footage, it only proved further that my client was innocent of all charges. This was a stressful situation to endure and Mr. Morgan would appreciate it if the people contacting him and his business associates to try and question them, would cease their interference. I'm here to answer any questions that you may have regarding the situation, but ask them while you can. After the end of this interview, anyone found hassling my client or his associates, whether business or personal, will be met with harassment charges."

Groaning and shouts start coming from the crowd but Mr. Sawyer is quick to raise his hand to quiet them down. "We've had numerous issues since this situation started and it has interfered not only with business but also has made numerous people feel unsafe in their daily lives. We have proof of those involved in the harassment, so this is your warning and your chance to ask any questions you may have."

The reporters start shouting out questions left and right, trying to get Mr. Sawyer's attention to be called on. He points to one and they ask where Mr. Morgan is and why is he not present to answer these questions himself.

"Mr. Morgan would rather not relive this ordeal and would like to put it behind him as he is innocent. He doesn't appreciate the way his name was dragged through the mud when no concrete evidence had been brought forth to actually name him as the murderer. Would you want to speak to the same people who were shaking their torch and pitchfork at you just a day or two earlier?"

He points to another reporter who asks more questions about his time held behind bars in the UK and his treatment while there. Mr. Sawyer replied with a vague answer of Jackson being treated as any other suspect would be treated while under law enforcements hands.

The next question pertained to the length of time and why it took so long to prove his innocence. Mr. Sawyer explained how the hotel did their surveillance through an outside source and also having to find out which cameras would be needed for the investigation.

The next question that was asked was about the evidence that led to Jackson being accused of having an affair with the councilwoman and then of murdering her.

"Mr. Morgan had a lunch meeting with the council members pertaining to business discussions. The councilwoman had offered to pick him up for the lunch when she called to notify of the meeting. He accepted and they met with the other council members for lunch and things went well. The councilwoman took him back to his hotel before leaving. During those car rides his phone had gone off and he checked it and thought he had placed it back in his jacket pocket. It was found under his seat on the side of the car that he rode in. Why anyone thought that he was having an affair with the councilwoman is a mystery to us. I can assure you that Mr. Morgan is happily involved with a woman here in the states that he has been committed to for several months."

"Mr. Morgan is no longer a bachelor?!" A few reporters shout out a similar question.

"Yes, that is correct. Now, are there anymore questions regarding the false charges against my client?"

The news cuts back to the studio desks leaving the video of Mr. Sawyer answering questions minimized but still on the screen. Jackson changes the channel when they start moving on to the next topic.

"Do you think the harassment charges will be enough to deter these people from following and bothering us?" I ask Jackson.

"Not at first. Many will consider it an empty threat. That's why we're staying here." Jackson squeezes me against him again, rubbing my arm as something seems to run across his thoughts.

"What has you so stressed out right now?" I ask him, pulling his chin lightly so he'll look at me.

"So why couldn't anyone get in touch with you from my company or my lawyers office?" Jackson gazes down at me as I sit up a little straighter.

"HR doing their jobs. The second you were arrested, I guess people started calling to try and get information and they were posing as different people trying to make contact with anyone that they could get information from. So they did the best they could by deflecting and giving them a contact that could be traced. Email. IT has been having to pull overtime to filter through all the emails, some of which have viruses and spyware in them. That's the reason I was given. They also figured that someone else would be able to reach me on my private number."

Jackson nods quietly, "I guess they do have a point there." He sighs heavily and pats my arm, "Go ahead and eat Melita. I need to make some phone calls and handle a few things. I'll be in the office room." He gets up and walks down the hall and I can't help but feel he's a million miles away from me right now.

The next few days feel the same, even though I ask him to share what's on his mind. He shakes his head and tells me not to worry about it. It's just something he has to take care of.

This week at work went as well as could be expected considering I still had security personnel located outside my office, my email was finally accessible again and Sybil hasn't spoken a word to me. She still had that smug look on her face and I couldn't figure out why. I paid her no mind and went about my work as normal.

Anna invited me to have dinner with her and her sister. They both wanted to thank me for helping them. As much as I wanted to accept the offer with everything going on, I had to ask if we could arrange it at a later date so that we would not have any issues. A large amount of people that had exited or entered the building the past week had been approached by someone trying to gather information for smaller news outlets and the local papers, even though they knew the chance for a harassment lawsuit could be filed. I'd been waved down and practically ambushed five times this week and I was grateful for the security located in the ground floor and outside the building now. It made me wish the parking for this building was underground.

Anna understood and was happy to wait till things calmed down a bit more.

I looked at the calendar and kept tapping my pen. My birthday was next Friday and I was trying to think of what I wanted to do with Jackson for it. I glance at the clock and gather my stuff up. It was time to make the mad dash for the Uher that would be picking me up and taking me to a parking garage where I could enter into Jackson's car with his driver.

Once I was in the car with David, Jackson's driver, he skillfully drove us out of the parking garage and began his drive around Dallas making sure we were not followed or if we were by chance, they didn't keep up. Once at the apartment that we were staying at for the time being, I thanked David and went to the sixth floor. I entered the apartment and called for Jackson but no answer came.

I decided to take a shower and relax while I thought about my birthday. We should go do something fun I think. But what could we possibly go do and avoid possible run ins with paparazzi or journalists? Maybe we should go somewhere out of town? I could ask David to have an extra car set up for us to use...

I would need to look up where we could go, what might be fun to try out. I really want to do all the fun things we did not get to do as kids that we always wanted to. I know we have to wait before we do anything at the amusement parks, too many people for him to possibly be recognized in. I already ordered an outfit to wear for him from blubell, marseille basque in black. I'd have to think about how I was going to put it on if he was here though while we got ready.

I can already imagine his face when he discovers me wearing it. The heat that will fill his eyes that just thinking about it, is making my toes want to curl. How he'll lick his lips as he walks towards me, like a predator and I'm his prey. That thought made me think of the night by the fire, when we watched ourselves in the mirror... fuck that was hot.

I slide a hand between my legs and feel my arousal, even with the water dripping off me, I'm slick and needy. I go ahead and start thinking about how he will react and how I could react to him when he sees me. Letting my confident side come out, knowing he'll love what he sees as I circle my clit. How he'll want to kiss my shoulder and my neck.

I move my hand faster, closing my eyes and leaning my head back against the shower wall. A whimper escapes my lips as I imagine him moving his own hand between my legs to touch me in that skillful way he does. How he will move me against the wall as he kisses me, one hand still caressing my folds, as the other keeps me trapped between him and the wall.

I gasp out as I grow closer to the edge, Jacksons name on my lips as I open my eyes and freeze.

"Don't stop on my account my Lita. Finish please."
