There was a lot of crying and hugging later on into the night. Yui was bursting with happiness and cried into Mrs. Murasakibara's hug. The siblings all took turns hugging the girl, even Murasakibara who, although not showing it, was secretly delighted to hear he would be getting Yui as a younger sister.
When the GOM found out the next day, they were shocked at the sudden development. Wasn't Yui only recently introduced to the family? They congratulated her regardless.
" I'm so happy for you Yui-chan, I can't believe you're going to be a Murasakibara too," Momoi exclaimed as she hugged the girl. Kuroko and the rest offered their congratulations and Kise whined, " *Sniff* I want Araicchi to be my sister. Ne, why don't you come to my ho-"
He was cut off by a dark aura being emitted from a certain purple head. Indeed, Murasakibara can be intimidating when he wants to be.
" Congratulations Arai. I hope you haven't forgotten about this afternoon though," Akashi said. The group were sitting on a bench near the field.
Yui gulped and tried not to sound nervous, " Of course I haven't forgotten Akashi-san,"
Right, today was the day she was supposed to go to his house (mansion more like) and she had been thinking about it all day. Honestly, she'd rather go shopping for porn mags with Aomine rather than go to the emperor's house. She wouldn't really do that but that was just how much she was dreading this afternoon.
Murasakibara insisted he came along as well and Akashi didn't object which made Yui feel slightly better. At least she wouldn't walk into the lion's den alone. The others wanted to come as well but one look from the redhead made them hold back their words.
" Ne Yui-chan, why do you call Mukkun so formally? You're going to be family soon so why don't you start calling him by his first name?"
" What? I-I.."
" Sacchin is right. Call me Atsu-nii, imouto,"
Yui blushed. The pressure from the two swallowed her and she bit her lip before muttering, " A-Atsu-nii,"
'Damn wasn't she supposed to be the cool, mysterious girl like Kiyoko from Haikyuu?' (Yui was actually never any of those things she thought herself to be). In fact, she came off as a small, cute girl whose face was like an open book and sometimes made people want to protect her. If Yui knew this, she'd probably run off somewhere cursing.
" Awww how kawaii," Momoi pinched the girl's cheek.
The rest of the day was relatively pleasant but now came the time Yui was very much dreading.
Outside the school, a black limo pulled up and out stepped a man dressed as a butler. He pulled the door open and Akashi, Murasakibara and Yui all got in.
As they drove off, Kise whispered to Momoi who saw the limo from the window.
" Was it just me or did Yui seem really fidgety today?"
"I noticed too. Even I would be nervous to go to Akashi-kun's house,"
"Maji de? (Really?)"
Aomine called from the other side of the room. " Oi Kise, Satsuki, class rep said to close up,"
"Hai!" they replied.

'Holy mother of-' Yui gaped at the mansion. Being huge was an understatement. It bloody massive. Murasakibara mumbled, " Eh Akachin, were you always rich?"
Cue facepalm.
"Let us head in," the redhead said ignoring the question. Yui just nodded and followed him inside. There was a big courtyard before the actual house filled with statues and cleanly clipped bushes. The house itself was a mixture of western and Japanese design.
They were greeted by an array of maids and butlers dressed in traditional clothing.
"Please make yourself feel comfortable," Akashi said as the maids came and took his school bag and jacket.
'No way, there is absolutely no way I would feel comfortable,' Yui inwardly cried. Hers and Murasakibara's things were taken as well and they were led through the halls and into a large kitchen. It full of chefs and workers scampering about.
They stopped when they saw the children entering and bowed at their young master.
" Young master, what brings you here?" one man, who appeared to be the head chef asked.
" My friend here would like to cook something for us,"
Yui swivelled her head to look at Akashi. Why did he make it sound like she was the one who insisted to come?
Surprisingly, the head chef didn't agree right away, "Young master, I'm sure you understand my dislike when some unknown person wishes to cook in MY kitchen. Does she possess the skills?"
Yui noticed a dark aura gathering around the young master and quickly thought up a solution.
" U-um, I can prove my skills if you want."
The head chef turned towards the young girl and narrowed his eyes, "And how do you suppose you do that?"
Yui took a deep breath and stood with legs apart and hands on her hips, " You sir, I, Arai Yui, challenge you to a shokugeki!"
Silence.
Sho.ku.ge.ki??????
Even the emperor was confused but was amused by her pose. (Okay this story is taking a weird turn)
" What's a shokugeki?"
" Fufu, well if you must know..." Yui went on to explain the whole concept from what she remembered from Food Wars. The staff were interested and the head chef, after listening to her, took up the challenge. The theme was pasta.
The judges were Akashi, Murasakibara and an Sous chef. Yui was given an apron and she rolled up her sleeves and took position at one counter while the head chef went to his.The ingredients and cooking utensils were placed out and they started the count down.

Begin.
Yui grabbed a pot and through in her butter to melt it. She chopped her onion and garlic at lightening speed and proceeded to cook her meat. The head chef began concocting the dough for his pasta and chopped up his ingredients.
The two made for such entertainment that other staff who weren't part of the kitchen workers stopped by to watch this fierce competition.
Soon enough, a delicious smell wafted through the room and into the hallways attracting more people. As she cooked, Yui kept thinking 'What the hell am I doing? The plot was never supposed to go like this.'
Either way, what's done is done and the time was up.
"Time's up. Serve your dishes to the judges contestants," a worker said into the mic. Wait what? Where did he get a mic?
The two competitors glared at each other and brought their plates up to the judges. The head chef smirked and placed his down first.
" Judges, I present to you my special sausage ragu topped with...." the head chef went on to explain his dish and Murasakibara's mouth watered. The judges took a bite and the sous chef was blown away. Akashi didn't say anything and Murasakibara was...well inhaling the pasta.
Then it was time for Yui's turn. She went for a simple Fettuccine alfredo with her own special additions and twist. The judges took a bite and something unbelievable happened. The shirts of Murasakibara and the sous chef burst open.
"Oh my!!" there were exclaimations all around and Yui was blank. 'W-wait a second. The GIFT was real???!!! Akashi-san has the gift???'
The judges couldn't get enough and kept eating although Akashi didn't look animalistic like the other two.
"....Miss Arai Yui wins!!"
Yui rubbed her nose and quoted the famous catchphrase, "Osomatsu!"
There were cheers everywhere and the head chef looked lost, "Impossible...how could I lose to a child?"
Yui walked up to him and handed him a plate, "Why don't you taste and see for yourself?"
He looked hesitant but took the plate anyway and placed the fork of pasta in his mouth. His eyes watered as he recalled his past as a child and his late mother who cooked this very same dish for him. (Oh my lord, where on earth is story going?)
"...I see now. Arai-sama, you are free to use the kitchen,"
After that, Yui went on to make various foods and desserts and the chefs and their assistants all found new respect in the girl. Akashi joined in as well to observe and Murasakibara was given a new shirt and continued to snack.
This day turned out to be a lot more fun than Yui thought and was glad she came.
Please do leave a review on my fanfic. I'm curious as to what you guys think.
