*Flashback*
"Do you want to see your father?"
Alessander stopped walking and looked up at his mother, who had suddenly asked that question just as they reached a tall black gate. He took the candy out of his mouth and shook his head.
"No."
She grimaced, "But don't you want to bond with him? If you stay with him, you won't need to have to endure any of this." She clutched tightly onto his tiny four year old hands, her sweat slipping into his hands.
Alessander didn't think twice before answering, "If I go with him, that means we won't get to see each other, and I don't want that. So I'll stay with you."
After hearing his response, his mother let out a relieved sigh, she squatted in front of him and hugged him tightly, pressing her cross necklace against his chest. "Thank you son, for staying with me." She told him, then led him into the hell he would soon grow to hate.
