Everything is changing. Part one.

Close your eyes and imagine a world in which all people live as their soul commands them.

What do you imagine first? Yes, chaos, impossible peace.

Just imagine, people suddenly realize that all this time, they lived the wrong life, not the one which they dreamed about.

What's going to happen to them now?

They suddenly begin to understand that they mustn't live like that. And then suddenly, they start following their dreams. Suddenly, long-forgotten, ignored dreams become important to them. And they're going to their dream.

Now answer the question, is such a world perfect?

First of all, I started reading everything that Ikuta sent me on my mail box.

Namely news and feedback from people.

"The bestseller, called Chain Reaction, has made a big impression in the modern world. After reading this book, people understood themselves and suddenly, everyone wants to learn how to dream again.

Following what happened after the book spread throughout the city and then country, I can say that people started going crazy. And the reason for this is that they want to live the life they have always dreamed of.

Dreams are back in this world. A human is ready to give up everything in order to do what he or she wants to do."

I read this news over and over again.

I had strange emotions. But still I felt a little lost. I didn't think my book would become so popular and that people would take it seriously.

I threw the phone aside and covered my face with my hands.

The change that's happening right now scared me a little bit.

I looked at the suitcase that was standing at the door and then I turned my attention to Leon who was sleeping on my bed.

What does all this mean?

Leon, then publishing house, my book and dreams?

And then I remembered that conversation in which I told Lei and Flora that I needed to go home because I had some business to do there. I recalled that conversation and I felt a little bit ashamed.

And also, that letter in which Richardson asked me about what happened and then in the end, he added, "What have you done?"

Knocking on the table with my finger, I woke Leon up.

"What are you doing?" he asked.

"I am thinking."

"What's going on? Skye, that's what you wanted. For people to start living again. Didn't you always say that everyone became colorless? What now?"

"Leon, don't you understand? People give up their jobs to follow their dream. That's not what I wanted."

"But then why did you even write a book about goals and dreams?"

"I don't know. I wrote this book more for myself."

"You're so confusing, Skyemoone."

"What time is the flight?"

"We're not going anywhere," he replied.

"What?"

"We have to stay here for a few days, before we go back."

I laughed nervously.

"Professor, there's one place, that's where we're going."

"I can't believe it," I muttered and caught Leon's gaze. A look full of ridicule, confidence and kindness.

That same evening, after Leon had loaded my luggage into some car he had found and borrowed, I went to the first floor and noticed that all the residents and owners of this house were waiting to say goodbye.

I went up to Lei and said, "Thank you for everything and I'm sorry that I'm leaving so quickly."

"It's all right," he said.

"Hopefully we'll see each other again," Draken added.

"I hope so too."

Noticing that Fortunata was standing and looking at the floor, I wanted to approach her, but Lei shook his head.

And so, I just said, "See you soon."

But then Draken suddenly hugged me and whispered, "Take care of yourself, professor."

"You, too, take care of yourself."

Most of all I wanted to say something to Fortunata, but Lei was clearly not thrilled with this idea.

So, at last, I just looked at her, but she didn't even look up.

When I left, I wanted to turn around, but Leon was waiting for me.

Closing my neck with the fur collar of my new coat, I went outside and took a deep breath.

In the evening, the blizzard subsided but there was a strong frost.

It was painful to breathe.

I got in the car and waved to them.

Leon lit the headlights and said, "Looks like she's in love with you."

"Are you talking about Fortunata?"

"She looks very sad."

"She's above any kinds of love," I replied, and plunged into the scenery which was greeted by a solitary car sliding through the snow.

But the landscapes gave way to rows of dreams in which I slowly immersed myself.

When I opened my eyes, I saw in front of me just a steppe and then just the night.

Leon was sitting in the driver's seat, and at times he touched my forehead.

I slept soundly but at the same time I heard voices saying to me, "What have you done!"

I don't know how many hours we were driving, but when I woke up, the first thing I heard was the sound of sea waves raging somewhere nearby.

When I woke up completely, I looked around and noticed that I was in some house.

The room in which I lay was small, and in the center, there was a fireplace.

It was the only source of light.

Leon was nowhere to be found. Several books and a violin lay on a wooded table.

I got up and headed towards the door.

A cold, painful wind pierced through me. And soon, I was standing in front of an ocean that was raging, playing, dancing.

I raised my head and noticed that a small stone house was standing in front of the lighthouse.

There was nothing or anyone around. Only snow-white surface and large stones which met the waves of the ocean.

I took a few steps forward and I was almost taken by a gust of wind. Straightening my arms on both sides, I closed my eyes and for a moment, imagined myself just blown away.

But suddenly I felt someone's presence behind me.

"Skye, let's go home. You need to eat."

"What kind of place is this?"

"This is our place," he replied, and as always left even more secrets.

"Of course. What a clear answer."

To understand something, I started looking at every thing in the house.

There were a lot of old books and some manuscripts in other languages.

While Leon was cooking in a small kitchen that looked more like a place where a witch brewed potions, I was walking in the house.

There were three rooms. And one of the rooms was locked.

In the living room, there was a sofa and one chair. The old carpet covered the wood floors. The walls in the house were made of stones. But in general, it was cozy. But I was wondering where and when Leon managed to find and rent this house.

While he was peeling potatoes, I sat on a chair and looked at him.

But he kept doing his business as if I wasn't here.

Putting two plates and two mugs on the table, Leon said, "It's time to have dinner."

At dinner, which was a potato with various vegetables, we were both silent.

I liked the twilight that lived in this house. Suddenly I forgot about the book and everything, and for a moment I wanted to stay in this place longer.

"Have you watched the news?" Leon suddenly asked.

"People started to give up their jobs. Now, there are more unemployed people. I created chaos and now I'm sitting here. Don't you think it's cowardice?"

"Sometimes a person has to be a coward. Or at least you can be a coward for me."

"I can't believe it."

"What can't you believe? That everyone has finally realized that they never have to ignore dreams?"

"We need to go back and I have to stop it all."

"People have not lived their lives for too long. Didn't you say everyone was unhappy."

"Yes, but I didn't mean that they should quit everything."

"Don't you, like everyone else, understand yourself?"

I didn't say anything.

My head hurt again.

That night, I could barely close my eyes.

To feel something, I left the house and headed towards the ocean.

I was cold, scared and at the same time calm. I stopped all my thoughts and meditating, just walked forward.

The ice under my feet made my every move risky.

What if I fall and break something?

The night, with a dark sky, was surrounded by a lonely lighthouse.

I stopped near the round stone and the waves started bouncing, touching the small stones.

It was the edge of the world. And I stood face to face with something unknown.

My hair was dancing in the wind, my ears were cold, but I didn't care.

I took a step forward, and a few more steps, and now I'm almost touching the water.

When I heard the steps behind me, I asked, "Why are you here?"

After taking a few more steps forward, my legs were already up to my knee in the water. I was cold to the pain. But I was patient.

I heard him sigh and then the words, "Sometimes I look at you and I'm scared."

"Why?"

"Sometimes I feel as if your soul may be lost, may get lost in the raging waves."

Cold waves hit my feet.

"Let's make a deal."

"Do you want my soul?"

"You have to follow your voice. You don't have to be afraid of it, Skye. Promise me."

As soon as I wanted to fall to my knees, he caught me.

"I will not let you be lost in a world of raging waves," he whispered.
