Chapter 9 - The Moth

Tsukishima Kei, 1st year at Karasuno High. One of the starting line up in the volleyball team as a middle blocker. Slim and Tall, with short blond hair, pale skin, thin brows, and a mouth that spews saltiness whenever he can. The mouth which took the first kiss and possibly the innocence of another middle blocker from the same team, Hinata Shoyo.

Hinata is now peacefully sleeping on his shoulder as the bus is steadily going at a certain speed while being driven by their coach, Ukai.

'This ninja flirt is getting bolder and bolder every day...'

Tsukishima got his gym bag and put it in his lap. Hinata stirred a bit eventually waking up because of the movement. Hinata rubbed his eyes and innocently looked at Tsukishima. Tsukishima ruffled his hair and whispered into his ear.

"Sorry I woke you up Sho. I was just prepping a more comfortable position for you to nap on."

Hinata smiled and once again looked around the bus to see if anyone was awake. The only awake ones are sitting in the first few rows at the front with Takeda Sensei.

Hinata stared at Tsukishima with a mischievous grin.

"What?" Tsukishima stared back, puzzled.

Hinata then cupped Tsukishima's right cheek and pulled him closer to him. Tsukishima had to put down his gym bag again on his feet. He slowly opened his mouth as he reached Tsukishima's. His tongue followed immediately brushing against Tsukishima's lips. They shared a kiss that was quiet, wet, gentle-sucking, and incredibly sweet.

"Don't do this to me Sho. We're both healthy young males. You know what happens every time you tease me." Tsukishima whispered in Hinata's ear as he slipped his arm into Hinata's waist. He once again put his gym bag in his lap and gently pulled Hinata into his chest so he can rest in his gym bag. Hinata chuckled and settled nicely to nap.

Tsukhima was left with his thoughts once again...

'This ball of sunshine once irritated me so much. Probably because he reminds me of who I once was. Before my liar of a big brother broke my trust. Maybe I miss the old me? Nahhh...

I knew how intimidating I was.. errr am. Still am. I appreciate Yams who never left me. Maybe out of gratitude since I once saved him from bullies. Hmmm but I believe we've established a more solid friendship after that though. Yam's my best friend. He knows me well. Very well...That's why he... almost knew immediately what's been going on between Shoyo and me.'

Hinata stirred a bit. He was so short he was able to lift his legs in a fetal position and continued sleeping. Tsukishima ran his hand through Hinata's body till it reached his bottom. He tapped it several times like a parent coaxing a baby to sleep.

Hinata chuckled. Tsukishima ruffled Hinata's hair.

'When did my feelings change? When he made me my favorite strawberry cheesecake? When I suddenly felt how soft he was when I saved him from falling when he tripped? When he turned me on when he ate on my palm and licked it? Oh yeah... he turned me on unexpectedly a lot of times after that. And he seems to always find a way to get closer to me. Or do I just think he does? Hmmm, was it when I suddenly became conscious of him that I caught him several times staring at me from a distance? But wait... wasn't I staring at him too then if I catch him? Then did I love him first? Wait... love? Haaaaah... do I?

Right now what. Sure I am still irritated by him... but for an entirely different reason. Ghaaad he has no sense of danger. He blindly trusts everyone and I mean everyone. I don't like it when other people touch him. Openly hug him. Carelessly carry him. And his smile. His smile exposes you to the sun. Pulling you into his warmth. He pulled me in. I want him. So bad and I cannot deny it anymore. Like a moth, I yearned to be nearer to this little fire. I hope I don't get burned...'

Tsukishima looked at Hinata's sleeping face. He outlined his face with his fingers. His cheeks, his ears, his lips, his jaw...

'He's mine right? Ahhh we need to have a serious talk. My heart seeks assurance. I am whipped by this little sunshine. And I'm okay with it...'

He rested his hand on Hinata's waist, leaned back, and closed his eyes. He eventually drifted off to sleep.

Yachi who was sitting in the last row looked over at them and saw the nice position they are in. She took a picture and showed it to Kiyoko and Kageyama and they all chuckled together.
