Ian waited at the front for a long time. He peeked out of the sidelight of his door and saw Zane on top of what looked like a struggling Mina. Her arms were flailing, and it looked as if his friend were groping her. Taken by surprise, Ian opened the door and strode up to the vehicle. He could just make out their conversation.
"No, I don't want to," Mina said in a whining voice. Ian's mind went immediately into the gutter and he couldn't believe what his friend was doing. Then he heard Zane trying to coax Mina out of his car.
"Mina, you have to get out now."
"Mr. Zane!" Mina exclaimed. "You said you would bring me home, but, where are we?" Zane ignored Mina. It was obvious to him that she did not want to be at the Lee mansion, but they didn't have a choice.
Zane was not going to bring Mina back to his place. That would probably destroy his relationship with his best friend and kill any possibility between Ian and Mina. Still unaware of the exact details, Zane was really hoping that the two of them would get together, because in his opinion they matched each other well.
Ian was still angry with his friend when he realized that Zane was only trying to force the girl out of his car and nothing more, but he still did not like how it appeared from an outside perspective.
Zane heard someone approaching and turned around with an expression on his face that Ian had never seen before. He looked at Ian with a gaze that was practically begging for help and Ian held back his urge to laugh. Ian knew how troublesome Mina could be.
----
When Mina looked up and saw President Lee standing outside the car, she re-fastened her seatbelt and crossed her arms.
"Mr. Zane, you lied to me," she said in a petulant voice. Zane rubbed his temples and pointed to Mina.
"You deal with her," he said to Ian, seeming to have lost his patience. Zane walked into the Lee mansion without another word.
Ian took a few steps toward the car and noticed something was wrong immediately. He reached toward Mina and she slapped his hand. Her movements sent the smell of wine in his direction and he knew she was drunk.
"Don't touch me without my permission," Mina said and Ian backed off.
"Okay fine, but you can't sit in Zane's car forever. He has to go home."
"I want to go home with him then," Mina replied, not realizing how what she said would sound.
Out of anger, President Lee reached into the car, and in one swift move he unbuckled and pulled Mina out. She was so drunk that she could barely stand but when he tried to steady her, she ran. It was a very slow run, and it was more akin to a wobble than anything else. Ian didn't even move as he watched her pathetic escape attempt. After a few minutes of trying to stand straight Mina started to laugh at herself. She couldn't remember what she was doing, but she knew she must have looked funny.
Turning around Mina looked at President Lee's brooding face and found it just as hilarious as her wobbly legs. In her laughter, she fell to the ground hard. It was a comical sight and Ian wanted to laugh, but seeing that she did not immediately get up, he went to check on her instead. He tried to help her stand, but Mina pushed his hands away. She rubbed her wrist as she whispered to herself.
"I probably deserved that," she said, and President Lee chuckled, but before he knew it, Mina was making herself comfortable on the ground outside and looked like she was planning to sleep right there. Not knowing what else to do, he lifted her over his shoulder and despite her protests he did not put her down. She was obviously very drunk.
----
Zane had been watching the two interact through a window, and he knew there was something they were hiding. Even drunk, Mina refused to let Ian touch her. There was a slight chance that she was jealous, but he doubted it. Even when she fell, she refused his help, and he watched his friend conclude that he would have to 'firefighter carry' Mina inside. The sight was amusing to say the least and by the time they entered the mansion Mina was already passed out.
With the unconscious girl over his shoulder he looked at his friend and asked,
"What have you done?" Zane, who was absolutely offended, grabbed his chest.
"I did nothing wrong. This little lady was already drunk after one glass of wine, then she snuck and drank one of those little sample bottles in the car. I didn't do anything but try to stop her. Do you know how long it took me to get her to leave the restaurant?" Zane was obviously frustrated. "She is now your responsibility," he finished.
"What do I do with her?" Ian asked.
"You can start by putting her down." Inexperienced, Ian took Zane's words literally and tried to make Mina stand. The girl teetered back and forth a few times before hitting the floor and Zane smacked his forehead.
"Have you never taken care of Lisa while she was drunk?" He asked.
"Lisa doesn't get drunk," Ian said while scooping Mina off the ground. Zane realized that Ian really did not know Lisa at all. He had witnessed the girl drunk several times in the past, but he had to admit that she was never as drunk as Mina was right now.
"Bring her to a bed," Zane said, realizing that Ian was still looking to him for guidance.
----
Out of habit, Ian walked into his study and placed Mina on the bed in there. Zane looked at him curiously and Ian defended himself.
"Stop thinking that way. I just don't want to go into her room without her permission. If she wakes up because she needs help but finds me there, how do you think she will react?" Ian asked and he had a point. She would probably fly into a rage, but Zane had a feeling that Ian's study was no better.
After Ian positioned Mina more comfortably, he noticed a cut on her palm area and opened his nightstand to take out a first aid kit. He gently cleaned the cut and treated it with antibacterial ointment. There was no point in a bandage as it was just a scrape. Lifting the girl's dress a little he could see that both her knees were also scraped, but when he went to roll her dress up more, Mina reached up and slapped his head hard. Zane laughed.
"She is drunk, not dead," Zane said.
