Not Be Able To Come Tonight.

"Mam dinner is ready"

"Yes , I am coming downstairs", before going out Veronica checked herself in the mirror.

"Varun is not here?", Veronica rotated her head.

"Sir occasionally drop by the mansion . He's normally busy or does his dinner outside", one of the maid spoke maintaing her serious look.

Atleast today he could have come!! But who cares!? It's better we live poles apart!! Veronica thought.

She didn't said anything.

"Next time if you want my help in the kitchen, you can ask me without thinking much. I am not as scary as your boss", Veronica winked at them.

"Yes mam, we will", Mrs. Smith smiled.

Mrs. Smith was Louis's wife. They both treasured Varun like their own child and had been serving his family for past many years. She liked Veronica.

Veronica turned towards her room thinking how to complete her research papers.

Veronica greeted everyone as she took her place for her morning breakfast.

"Morning Mrs.Miller", Mrs. Smith grinned.

"Morning all", Veronica chuckled.

"I won't thing I will be coming home tonight", Veronica looked at Mrs.Smith.

"Why?", suddenly a voice was heard from the man sitting across her reading newspaper.

She was stunned, both of them exchanged their looks.

"I have to prepare for my presentation, so I need to be in my lab", Veronica lowered her eye and began eating.

"Hmm... but you can a call your colleagues over here", Varun twitched his eyebrows.

"No that would be odd. It's better to spend my time in lab", Veronica took her papers.

Varun didn't said anything. But his gaze towards Veronica was cold.

Veronica ignored his eyes following her and moved ahead.

About 10' o clock someone visited her lab and it turned out to be Louis. He had brought the food items for the people working in the lab.

"It wasn't needed", Veronica knew Mr.Louis was a busy person.

"Mr.Miller told me to bring these items for you Miss. Veronica", He gave the food packets to other people working there.

"Hmm... thanks", she felt warm.

"You should get going. You are a busy man and thank you" Veronica said.

"Our car would be parked here", Louis didn't said much as he knew Veronica would understand.

"Thank you again", Veronica didn't denied, she thought it would sound rude.

People in her lab knew she was married to the rich man and it was a personal ceremony. But with his affectionate behaviour they couldn't help themselves to tease Veronica.

"Your husband is caring, you are lucky", one of her colleague told her while eating the food.

"Hmmm... " , Veronica didn't said anything.

She thought of calling him but denied the idea as it would be better to thank him in person.
