Don't know how to admit I'm broken...

I woke up to rain hitting my window. I immediately jumped out of bed and put on some shoes. I didn't bother with a jacket and ran to the elevator to get to the roof.

" J.A.R.I.V.S, please take me to the roof."

" Of course Aria."

I smiled at the A.I .

Once the elevator opened I ran up the stairs and opened the roof door and ran out on the roof. I twirled in circles and laughed like a 5 year old.

I LOVE the rain. Even better, it was also windy. I danced around and ran and played in the rain. I was playing when I heard the roof door open and Loki was standing there with an umbrella and wearing a coat and boots.

"Aria, I think you should come inside so you don't get a cold."

I thought about it and just shrugged and told him," Thanks, but I am fine out here."

He sighed and went back inside. I heard thunder, I got started but then I got excited and went to look for lighting.

I also LOVE thunderstorms and love looking for lighting along with it. I was out there for hours, until I heard the roof door open again.

" okay Aria, you have been out for 5 hours in the rain and the wind, it is time to come inside." Loki told me.

I nodded and headed to Loki and his umbrella at the doorway. WE walked inside and I shivered. I didn't realize how cold I was till I got inside.

" This is why I said to come inside sooner Aria, do you want to go to the medbay?"

I shook my head not wanting to interrupt Bruce. We got on the elevator and Loki asked J.A.R.V.I.S to take us to the floor I am on. Once we arrived I thanked Loki and left to take a nice hot shower and change into something warm.

I found a book of my favorite Harry Potter and the goblet of fire. I read my book by the window until an alarm went off.

I got my suit on and went to the helipad and got on the jet. There was an alien attack on Manhattan. We all jumped out, it was pouring rain so it made it harder to see. I started fighting the aliens, I started getting giggly because of the rain.

"Kid, stop laughing, it's annoying and distracting!" Tony yelled at me through the comms.

My mood dropped expediency at that. I continued fighting, but it was more sloppy because of my mood so I got hit more. I was about to call for evac because I just got shot in my thigh, but I heard children scream.

I ran to the screams and saw a group of 5 aliens surrounding a group of 3 kids. I put a force field around the kids and started fighting the aliens. People were talking through the comms but I didn't comprehend what they were saying.

I was in so much pain but I couldn't stop. I had to get these children to safety, I defeated the aliens and moved to the kids," Hey, I am Aria– I am going to get you to safety okay?"

They nodded. I helped them up and carried the youngest who looked to be 2. We ran through the city. I put a force field around us as we ran so nothing hurt the kids or me. I dropped them off at the safety spot and was about to go back and help when a voice broke through the noise.

" Aria!!"

I looked to see Matthew running towards me.

" Kid, what happened?" he asked, kneeling down in front of me holding my shoulders rubbing them reassuringly.

"What do you mean? I just helped some kids, nothing big."

He laughed a bit but then went back to serious," No kid, you are hurt from the looks of it badly. What happened to being careful?"

I shrugged. He shook his head and picked me up and started running towards the medical.

" Why are we are going to medical, other people need it not me."

He just shook his head and reminded me," Medical is for the injured, you are injured so we are going."

I suggested,"I'm fine, I just need a first aid kit and I will be fine."

"Kid," he turned me to the front," why don't you just let people help you, you are only 9 years old not 19."

"Then why does everybody treat me like I am an indestructible 30 year old?"

His face saddened at that," I don't know but you are a breakable 9 year old so let me help you, okay?"

I nodded and he got a first aid kit and patched me up.

He was about to take me back to his jet to be out of the line of fire when my comm went off," Kid, where are you we need you now on the corner of broadway and newport."

"Okay, I will be there soon." I answered my comm.

"Where do you think you are going?" Matthew asked me, still carrying me still.

" The team needs me."

"Well tell the team you are injured."

" I can't sorry."

" Yes, you can Aria remember you are break breakable 9 year old, not an unbreakable 30 year old."

"But if I don't then they will get mad."

" Aria, then they aren't good teammates."

"ARIA!! Where are you?!?! We need you here now!!" Tony yelled at me through the comms.

"I have to go and help. I am an Avenger after all."

Matthew looked mad.

'Good job Aria you made him hate you too, it was only a matter of time.'

"Fine, but you better be careful you hear me?"

I nodded. He sighed and put me down. I smiled at him and teleported to the spot.

"Took you long enough, ugh help us battle these things!" Tony yelled at me.

" Sorry" I told him and started battling.

I saved children, defeated enemies, got some injuries but that doesnt matter after an hour Nat got hit. I ran to her and tried to heal her, but could only do so much. She passed out and had to get an evacuation for her.

We finished the battle, I was swaying, on the verge of passing out, in pain, bleeding,exhausted. But that didn't stop the team from giving their piece of mind on the mission," Really Aria, why couldn't you get here faster, Nat would be fine if you did!"

"Why didn't you heal her? She could be dying because of you Aria!"

"You are so useless, Aria!"

"Why are you even here when you don't even try?!"

All the voices combined into one voice ...mine screaming

'See your useless!'

'everyone hates you!'

'You are so useless!'

'Why, are you even here!'

I just sat there for what felt like hours but it was only minutes until they all left. I let my tears fall, I walked to an abandoned building and slid down a wall and cried.

I cried for the people I couldn't that died because of me, I cried for being useless, I cried for the things I have done wrong, I cried and cried, I cried because of the things I was told, and most importantly I cried because I knew all the thoughts and the things my teammates were right.

I am useless, Dumb, a waste of space. My tears slowed and I went to get up but fell.I tried again and failed.

I realized I sprained my ankle.

'Dang It's just what I needed' I thought to myself. I sat there waiting for someone to come for me.

About 30 minutes later I hear someone calling my name,"Aria!!! Aria!!! Where are you?!?! Aria!!!"

"I'm in here!!"

I heard running and Matthew popped in. I almost cried tears of joy to see him.

"Aria, I thought I told you to be careful,"He said, reaching me and putting his hands on the sides of my face,"What happened?" He asked softly.

I leaned into his hands and tears started rolling down my cheeks.

"Oh, Aria" he said sadly, wiping my tears off my cheeks. "Come on let's get you cleaned up."

I nodded and he picked me up and put me on his hip and carried me to his jet. He helped clean me up and sat down with me.

"Aria, why were you sitting in an abandoned building?"

"Because I needed to sit down for a bit."

"Why Aria?"

"Because they said that it was my fault that Ms. Romanoff got hurt and said that I am useless and that they don't even know why I am here." I started to cry.

Matthew pulled me into a hug and just sobbed.

"Oh Aria, you are not useless, you are beautiful and so strong, I am so blessed to know you." He said reassuringly.

"You say that now someday you'll hate me just like everybody else does." I said sadly.

"No, no no no I could never Aria." Matthew Tells me.

"Look at me." He said lifting my head up to look him in the eyes.

"I will never leave you, I promise," He says, holding his pinky out.

"You promise?"

He nods and we lock pinkies.

"Okay you need sleep." I nodded and yawned.

" I'll take you back to the tower."

I nodded and sat down in the window seat again. Once we arrived I waved bye to Matthew and thanked him. Once I got inside the entire living room was full of glum looking Avengers.

I tried to sneak to the elevator but my efforts weren't enough.

"Kid, finally your back, where were you? It's not like you have any friends to see."

I sighed as tears filled my eyes," I was injured so I needed some help."

"Really I thought you could do that yourself but I guess you are more useless than I thought, Natahsa in the med bay proves my point." Tony told me.

I had tears in my eyes but I didn't let them fall," Well, I am sorry I am such a disappointment, if you want me off the team I understand, I will be in the room I am staying in if you need me." I told them my voice breaking slightly.

I ran to the elevator and as the doors closed I slid down the wall and asked J.A.R.V.I.S," J.A.R.V.I.S please take me to the room." I said as tears escaped.

" of course Aria." J.A.R.V.I.S said softly.

Once I arrived I ran to my room and closed the door and ran to my bed and cried. I don't want to admit but I am a useless little 9 year old. A broken 9 year old that cant do anything right…..
