She didn’t say much of anything for a long time, and neither did he.
But after a while, she asked the question that was in her heart,
“Edward, Do you ever plan to tell her?”
“Tell her what, Dinah?”
“Tell her What you are. Tell her what we are.”
Alexander didn’t respond immediately, just stared off into the distance,
“I wish I could,” he stated honestly, “right now, I wish I could run to her and tell her so that it no longer felt like some kind of dividing wall between us. But the honest truth is, I fear her reaction. I worry that she would look at me differently if she knew that I was a different man than the one she believes me to be. What I don’t understand, is why God would lead me to her, would lead her to me, and have me come to care deeply for her the way I do, in spite of our differences.”
“Surely you must know, that such a thing isn’t absent throughout history. This difference which you speak of.” She said lightly
He shook his head, and she saw his conflict.
