Those words Ellie spoke came from a very still and quiet place in her heart. Much as it helped Mary and Ginger worry less, it gave her immense peace. She wiped the last trace of tears from her eyes and face, then for the first time, flashed a sincere smile.
"Thank you for your concern and help. There is still a lot I don't know yet. I hope you can continue to guide me for a little longer." Ellie fixed her gaze on Mary, giving her a pleading smile.
"You have nothing to worry about," Mary assured.
"Thank you too, Ginger."
"What for?" Ginger probed. "I've not done anything yet."
"For being the nice person you are and for making me feel comfortable."
Ginger giggled. "You're welcome."
