Chapter - 22

Nate " He does look suspicious "

Luna " Let's just observe him I'm sure he'll leave any clue for us to catch him red handed " 

Nate " Let that be on one side now we have to stop the fear from the members of the pack that they will be sleeping safe and sound tonight " 

Luna " Nate how about guarding by yourself tonight from what I heard you are the strongest in this pack so I'm sure with your guard everyone will be safe tonight " 

Nate " That looks like a good plan, come let me drop you in the pack house I want you to be safe too "

Luna started walking towards the pack house while Nate followed her back. 

Luna " Nate I'm glad to have you even humans don't show their love the way you wolves show like how loyal you guys are to your mate and how you express your  love for your mate I'm amazed "

Nate " But I think you humans have a better life than us " 

Luna " I'm not sure about that after I came here and looked at your lifestyle now it feels like you guys are the real humans and we are just selfish monsters who we just think only about ourselves by pushing others down " 

Nate " Maybe I'll get to know if I can live in the city just like you " 

They reached the pack house soon it was going to be midnight Nate informed the guards about his plan by mind linking he muted Erick while passing the information but he wasn't aware of the fact that even among the guards Erick's people were there.

Nate " Be careful love I'll be back in the morning " 

Luna " Sure don't worry about me I'll be safe at the same time you have to return home safe with no disaster in the pack " 

Nate " Of course, I'll make sure everyone in the pack is safe and I'll also be coming back safe "  

Nate left there and joined Aariv they were making sure to guard each corner with no abnormal activity. When Luna went inside the pack house, it looks like a cave from the outside but it has every facility like a bed, and kitchen which every human house has. Luna went straight towards the bed and lay down soon she drifted to sleep. 

The whole night everyone had their eyes and ears wide open to prevent the killer from entering. In the morning Nate went inside the pack house happily looking for Luna but by the time he went in the place was a total mess and luna was nowhere to be seen. Nate stood there while his mind has completely turned blank. After a while, he informed others in the pack through the mind link. The whole started to search for their Luna. 

Nate went to the river cave where Luna has stayed before but to his disappointment, there was no sign. As he was walking while looking around with his heavy heart and blaming himself for not taking care of her properly. On the way he looked at Zack talking to some humans, Nate took a quick run and hid in the bush nearer to him. 

Zack "Is everything ready as per the plan" 

Men " Yes sir " 

Zack " Look there should be not even a single mistake or else none of us will be getting out of here alive" 

Men " Sure sir the work will be done perfectly " 

Zack " You guys may leave now remember to hide out well don't give yourself as prey to those werewolves" 

The other Men nodded their heads and left from there, Zack took a few steps from there Nate came out from his hiding and stood in front of Zack. The moment Zack looked at Nate he immediately stopped in his tracks and Zack's face looked like he has seen some ghost, it became pale within seconds. 

As the sun has already come up Nate was in his wolf form, so he just howled at him with full anger. Nate has sensed some danger to the pack so now he became a protective alpha. 

Zack " Nate, it is not what you think " 

Zack continued to blabber something out of fear of the feeling of being caught, at the same time Nate's howl was getting longer and louder. 

Zack " And Luna was taken back to the city by the order of the sir I don't intend on doing that  believe me " 

Nate stood there in silence for a few minutes and again he started to howl now the sound was different from the older one. After a few minutes, the other wolves from the pack gathered there and surrounded Zack. 

Zack " Hey Nate chill man why so aggressive " his voice was shaking due to fear

The distance between him and the wolves was getting lesser soon they surrounded him and there is no way of escaping now. The other men who came with him noticed the situation of Zack and immediately retrieved their plane and flew back to their original camp which is at the start of the forest. 

Zack was surrounded by the wolves till the time hit midnight once the time reached everyone turned into their human forms. Nate lunged toward Zack 

Nate " Where is my Luna? And who is your sir? " 

Zack " Well Luna was taken back to our human city and she is safe in her house with her parents as for the part about the sir I'm sorry I can't tell you about that even if you guys kill me here I can't answer to that question" 

Nate " So you guys are the ones who killed the innocent people in our pack" 

Zack was about to reply but Erick interrupted " Does that mean Luna also had a part in your plan for killing our innocent people" 

Nate " Erick mind your words she is the Luna of this pack" 

Erick " I know she is the Luna but is there any wrong with what I said," he asked while looking at the pack members. 

The facial expression of the pack members made Nate speechless cause whatever Erick says these people were trusting him blindly. Now Nate was completely speechless about what to tell next.
