1 hour later.

After Cynthia's sudden seizure ended in about a minute, she had fainted. A doctor was called as she was carefully moved to her room.

Most of the family was shaken by what they had seen earlier and were not in the mood to eat. They had returned to their rooms except for Antoine and Lilliana. The two stood anxiously, waiting for the doctor to finish her check.

'What just happened? I just got the message this morning and it has already started.' Antoine was not sure what he was supposed to do. He had no time to prepare a defense against what was going on.

He had told himself to protect the girl and was just about to research new ways to strengthen the family's security protocols. He knew very well how creative and resourceful the Duketh family's.

Since Antoine could not figure out what was going on, he would just see what he can get from the doctor's diagnosis.

Lilliana had her own reasons for standing right next to Antoine and staring at Cynthia's unconscious body. She followed the female doctor's every move like a hawk.

Just like Antoine, she was mature enough to understand that anyone in their family can become a target. Especially one that is has no superpowers like her and just entered their sheltering wings.

The plain doctor with brown hair and eyes finished her check after using an assortment of strange devices.

There was also a green light as refreshing as the forest air that flowed from her hands into every part of Cynthia's body. The doctor gave out a sigh of relief as she retracted the energy and faced the sibling pair.

"Her condition has nothing to do with outside interference but the situation is somewhat dire." There was a sense of urgency and confusion in her voice.

"What is that you need from us Ms.Miller?" said Antoine. Just like the family butler, the doctors and lawyers also came from the Miller family.

From her eyes, he could tell that the lady needed something to solve what was ailing Cynthia.

"From what I can see, she is most likely going through some sort of awakening of her superpower. Her internal mana is multiplying at an exponential rate and we will need the best ice type of awakening agent you can get."

The doctor then took out a syringe from her briefcase and filled it with a dark green liquid. She then plunged the syringe and its content into Cynthia's arm with precision and confidence.

"This should keep her stable for another hour. That's your deadline."

Antoine processed what she said and understood what was going on. "Ice-type...I see. Just like father." he muttered under his breath.

"Are you sure that she's like father?" questioned Lilliana as she clearly heard her brother. She could hear his muttering as clear as day since he didn't have a quiet voice at all.

"I'm not really sure but It could be very likely given how we three don't have anything similar to his ability," Antoine said and Lilliana shook her head in agreement.

They both knew the reason they didn't inherit their father's ice attribute power was because of their mother. Alison also had a power that related to the manipulation of space.

Both Lilliana and Oswin had awakened minor powers related to space at a young age. The two younger ones didn't know if their brother had inherited space it as well but they were sure it was very likely as well.

They thought that it was being kept a secret was because of how powerful it possibly was.

They weren't exactly wrong as Antoine's power was strong but came with glaring weaknesses that his enemies should never come to know.

Since Cynthia's mother had no powers, she was most likely to have unadulterated access to their father's power.

"Dr.Miller, we have an S-Rank Everest Lotus in our vaults. Would that suffice?" Antoine had recalled what kind of items their families had acquired from Gates.

"That would be perfect! Her mana is at a level where only S-Ranks would give a guarantee." The doctor nodded and then closed her eyes. She had to wait here until the item could be brought over here.

She needed to make sure Cynthia's condition stayed stable until she could be treated.

Antoine then exited the room and took out his smartphone. He closed the door behind him as he dialed a certain crazy individual's number.

Lilliana just found a chair and sat facing the doctor.

"Is it okay if I hold her hand?" she asked. The doctor opened her eyes for a second with a questioning gaze and then closed them.

She nodded and allowed Lilliana to hold onto Cynthia's right hand. 'Ice cold.' That's what her hand felt like but a weak pulse could still be felt.

Lillianawanted to know was curious about why her older sister's awakening was such a violent one. She asked the doctor to explain more about awakening to her

She didn't know much as it wasn't explained in school and her own awakening had just been random and not all dramatic.

She was just walking across a flower field while chasing a butterfly at the age of 5 when she warped the space around the creature. It then appeared miraculously in her hand.

She doesn't exactly remember what it felt like back then but only had a slight idea that it was completely natural. It was like the power was controlled purely by her instincts.

The doctor didn't mind explaining as the two had time to kill. The Duketh family's vault wasn't located in this city and an S-Rank Item needed a good security detail to escort to over.

Setting all that up and delivery would take some time.

Superpowers, something that came to exist in humans over 50 years ago. This was the time when the mysterious Gates to other worlds opened up all over the world.

Monsters started pouring out from them and modern militaries had a hard time keeping up with them.

In order to close these gates, they had to kill all the monsters present in the pocket dimension inside the Gates.

This was impossible for people as modern weapons become dysfunctional once you entered the Gates.

Humans would have become extinct in less than 5 years if the tables didn't turn. They did turn when people started to randomly unlock abilities that could not be explained by science.

The existence of MANA became known as the energy source prevalent in the worlds within the Gates.

Mana fueled humans' abilities that included everything from super speed, strength, and cognition to people shooting fireballs and freezing things with their bare hands.

It became completely like the worlds seen in popular web novels and comics at the time.

The process in which these powers were 'awakened' within humans was not well understood but there were two ways that they happened.

The first way was that the user would randomly feel natural instincts take over their body and mind as they did something that could only be called a superpower.

The other way was that the human body was not very compatible with the mana. This would cause adverse reactions like pain, fainting, or even straight-up dying in instances where treatment could not be provided on time.

The doctor and Lilliana spoke for over half an hour over different topics that had to do with Gates and the scientific information found about superpowers.

They were interrupted when Antoine entered the room with his usual smile. Behind him was a tall young man with a fiery shade of crimson red hair and eyes of the same color.

He seemed to have some sort of glint in his gaze that gave of the feeling of an apex predator but was being covered up by his devilish smile and looks.

In his hands sat a wooden box the size of a basketball. The dark wood box had a symbol engraved on its front with gold.

It was large, capital D with a 9 pointed star at its center. The tips of the golden star were an icy blue. It was the image that made its presence known all over the nations as Duketh Group.

"Ooo! That girl is perfectly my type. She's your sister?" The youth said. He handed over the box, more like tossed it, to Antoine. Then walked right up to the bead and observed the cold body of Cynthia with eyes full of a deep desire.

Lilliana looked at the boy and moved in front of his sight. She Stretched out her hands outward attempted to block his vision of her big sister.

"Who do you think you're looking at?" she asked the boy. Her tone contained both mockery and anger.

Even though she did not get along with her sister because of differences in interests, she still held some level of affection for her. Lilliana was originally disgusted by her father when she heard that he had another woman and a child with her.

She came to hate the woman that gave birth to the child of an already married man that was already a father of 2 and on the way towards his third.

This didn't mean that's he would hate the child who had nothing to do with it. She couldn't hate her big sister since she thought that Cynthia is a massive cutey.

Lilliana could feel that there was a warm and loving big sis beyond the cold mask she displayed. She couldn't stand this stranger looking at her family member like that.

"Yuck! Can you move your ugly face field of view? You make me want to vomit." said the boy as turned away from Lilliana with a disgusted expression.

He took three steps back and faced Antoine. "I get why you would hide such a beauty of sister but what about the orc? You should warn me if you are raising a monster."

Lilliana and Antoine had a blank look on their faces as if their heads could not wrap around what the kid had just said.

The doctor was confused a well as she could see that Lilliana could be considered the more beautiful of the sisters. She had not fully grown yet either and would look even more stunning in the future.

She felt that Cynthia was more of the sexy and hot type that men would lust about in the future. Lilliana made you wanna protect her and bask in her warm rays of innocence.

"Hey! Why are you looking at me like that? I'll go home and tell big brother that you are hiding a golden orc here?" The boy did not stop drilling deep into Lillliana's confidence.

Her shock didn't last long as she scanned the kid from head to toe. She could tell that he was about her age so she would not hold back her poisonous tongue that did not match her angelic looks.

"Big bro, why did you bring over a blind, Red Orc to our house? He stinks of bullsh*t!" Lilliana had a tone full of disdain.

"Red Orc? Blind? Smells like bullshit?.....Hahahaha!" the boy laughed manically for a bit then suddenly stopped as he smirked and looked at the crazy girl in front of him with disdain of his own.

"Antoine, you should your Golden Orc back to the pet trainers. She might have some screws since she can't even understand the difference between species.

Look at that little Golden Orc. Look at her face and then yours in a mirror. You will see a difference between orc and goddess." he said while pointing to the mirror in the corner of the room.

Lilliana started to feel a real challenge come up as she had never faced anyone with a tongue as glib as her.

"You know what, now that I see you closely, it's not the color of but rather piss. No wonder it smells so bad. You must not get a lot of water, in more ways than one." The young man didn't feel like arguing any longer.

He felt that this girl wasn't worth his time so he turned around to leave but not before he left his parting words.

"Antoine, you should give that Piss colored orc some more water to drink and bathe in. She might get a better color then and even increase her brain cell count. See ya!" he closed the door and was no longer in sight.

Lilliana's forehead had a cluster of veins pulsing incessantly on the left side. She hated to admit it but she was no match for the man. She had become determined that she would sharpen her skills when she had the time.

She would not let him with such a big head the next time. She also wanted to know who he is so she asked her brother.

"That was Ryan Frontera. He is the younger brother of a friend and has a teleportation ability. I had him retrieve the Everest Ice Lotus from our Vault in Conche city." was his response while handing the box containing the item to the doctor.

"Frontera?From that clan full of crazy bastards?" Lilliana had heard of a clan full of abnormal personalities that came from a different country.

"Yup. That clan so his strange personality and ability make sense." Antoine observed the doctor as she was testing some equipment on the lotus.

Lilliana did the same and asked, "Can I see him once again when my skills are more polished." She was determined to get her verbal revenge.

Antoine raised an eyebrow in response and started to chuckle. "Don't worry. You will have plenty of chances in the future."

"Why?"

"Because not only does he look very interested in Cynthia but he is also transferring into the same school that you two attend."

"Heeeeeeh!!!?" She had no words to say as her jaw hung open.

"Same grade too?!" She asked after coping with the 5 or 6th instance of shock today.

"Hmm." Antoine nodded.

"I'm done for!" Lilliana knew that's he had no time to train. She would have to just learn from fights against that guy every day.
