"Chen Dongxi, you've gone too far!"
"You left your wife alone on top of the mountain. Do you know what happened last night?"
Wang Yunzhi scolded Chen Dongxi while wiping her tears.
After all, she came from a traditional family, with a sense of shame and chastity.
If she hadn't been in complete desperation, she would never have betrayed him.
It was because Chen Dongxi said he was going to camp on the mountaintop to surprise her, but he left her again.
In the end, due to an unexpected turn of events, she ended up with Qi Lin.
"Yunzhi, what do you mean? What happened last night?"
When Chen Dongxi heard this, he became nervous and started to think.
His wife is beautiful and has a great temperament. It would be hard for any man to resist her charm.
Chen Dongxi wasn't the type of man who could bear being betrayed. Whenever he thought about his wife being desired by another man, it was like a knife to his heart.
There was a trace of anger in Wang Yunzhi's beautiful eyes: "There was a wild beast on Mulan Mountain. I was terrified all night. Do you know I almost became food for the beast?"
There was conflict between Qi Lin and Chen Dongxi, and something happened between her and Qi Lin. No matter how foolish Wang Yunzhi was, she couldn't bring herself to talk about what had transpired between them that night.
She couldn't mention Qi Lin, let alone the tomb raiders and antique dealers that were chasing him later.
When Chen Dongxi heard Wang Yunzhi talk about wild beasts on the mountain, he couldn't help but laugh: "Yunzhi, are you joking? Mulan Mountain is a tourist spot, how could there be wild beasts?"
Wang Yunzhi's beautiful eyes flared with even more anger: "So you're saying I'm lying?"
Chen Dongxi quickly waved his hands: "I wouldn't dare."
When a woman loses her temper, never argue with her.
"Dear, can't I admit I was wrong? I promise you that no matter what happens in the future, I'll never break a promise again. As long as it's about you, I'll drop whatever I'm doing and come to be with you immediately."
He did his best to appease Wang Yunzhi.
But the anger in her beautiful eyes remained.
Given everything that had happened, how could Chen Dongxi be forgiven with just a few words?
When Chen Dongxi saw Wang Yunzhi remaining silent, he moved to hug her slender waist.
"Darling, I'm truly sorry about your birthday. Today is Saturday. How about we go out and do something fun? You can go wherever you want, buy whatever you want."
Wang Yunzhi's beautiful eyes remained cold, and she sidestepped his hand with no hesitation.
"I already celebrated my birthday yesterday. I don't need any more of your attention."
"You should pack your things and go back to your father's house. I don't want to see you for a few days."
Chen Dongxi: "..."
Over the past few days, he hadn't even been able to hold her hand, let alone anything more intimate.
Now, just when he wanted to be close to his wife, he was rejected outright and even kicked out of the house.
Is this just bad luck?
"Darling, is this really necessary? It was just a small thing. Is it worth separating over this? And if I go back home, how will I explain this to my parents?"
Chen Dongxi didn't want to leave and quickly tried to fix the situation.
Wang Yunzhi sneered: "For you, leaving me on top of a mountain for the night is just a small thing, right?"
"Fine, if you won't leave, I will. Is that good enough?"
Without hesitation, Wang Yunzhi walked into the room and began packing her clothes.
Seeing this, Chen Dongxi panicked.
He could leave for a few days, and once her anger cooled, he would naturally come back.
But if Wang Yunzhi went back to her parents' house, things would escalate.
With a wry smile, he blocked her path: "Okay, okay, honey. You win. I'll pack my things and leave right now."
And so, with a sad face and a suitcase in hand, Chen Dongxi was kicked out of the house.
Of course, this didn't mean that Wang Yunzhi and Chen Dongxi had completely severed ties.
There was still a relationship between the two as husband and wife. After all, before Qi Lin appeared, the two were quite affectionate.
Wang Yunzhi kicked Chen Dongxi out simply because she didn't know how to face him now.
Whenever she thought of the intimate moment with Qi Lin the previous night, she felt anxious and guilty.

Jiangcheng City, Central Hospital, Emergency Department.
Wound Treatment Room.
"Miss Chen Lili, what a coincidence to meet you here."
Qi Lin sat on the chair.
Chen Lili, wearing a white coat, pants, and shoes, was examining Qi Lin's wounds. Qi Lin glanced at her pants and noticed something unusual.
"Hmm. She's wearing white silk stockings under her pants."
Chen Lili smiled shyly, "Mr. Qi Lin, you're too polite. Just call me Lili. By the way, how did you hurt your palm like this?"
After checking Qi Lin's wounds, Chen Lili's eyes reflected confusion.
Qi Lin smiled, "I was accidentally injured by a nail gun while working on some decorations."
Chen Lili didn't question it and nodded.
"I'll take a blood sample to check for any infections or toxins. Then I'll take an X-ray to see if there's any metal residue or broken bones. If everything looks good, I'll stitch and bandage the wound for you."
Qi Lin smiled, "Thank you for taking care of it."
Chen Lili smiled lightly as she walked away to gather the necessary instruments.
Qi Lin watched her delicate figure leave. Even with the white coat, it couldn't hide her graceful form. He thought back to when he had saved her during the car accident. If he hadn't acted, this beautiful "work of art" might not be alive today.
A moment later, Chen Lili returned with a tray of medical tools. Her white, slender hands gently positioned Qi Lin's hand. She spoke softly, "It might hurt a little when I draw your blood. Please bear with me. I'll be as gentle as possible."
Qi Lin chuckled, "Shouldn't this be a basic skill for nurses?"
Chen Lili smiled, "Mr. Qi Lin, look more closely at what I'm wearing."
Qi Lin blinked, confused, "Isn't that a nurse's uniform?"
Chen Lili's eyes reflected a hint of helplessness. "This is a doctor's uniform. Even though I'm still an intern, I'm also a doctor, right?"
Qi Lin couldn't help but laugh.
After watching so many movies set in hospitals, he had subconsciously thought that all the female staff wore nurse's uniforms.
"You're impressive," Qi Lin admitted. "I heard doctors need five years of study and three years of training before they officially become doctors. It's quite a feat for a woman to persevere through all that."
Qi Lin gave her a thumbs-up.
Chen Lili's eyes brightened slightly. She was used to hearing compliments about her appearance, but Qi Lin's words seemed to please her more than usual.
"So, you've never drawn blood from a patient before?" Qi Lin asked with a smile.
Chen Lili nodded, "Yes, drawing blood is a nurse's duty. You're actually my first patient."
Despite her words, her technique was steady and gentle. Qi Lin barely felt any pain.
From this, it was clear that Chen Lili wasn't just a pretty face—she had worked hard to master her skills.
"I'll send your blood sample to the lab. Wait here for me."
Chen Lili stood up, smiling at Qi Lin, and left with the tray of instruments.
As she passed the surgery department office, she was stopped by a man.
"Lili, what's that in your hand?"
Shang Jia approached her.
Chen Lili smiled, "A friend of mine hurt his hand. I'm drawing his blood for testing."
Shang Jia was momentarily stunned.
While Chen Lili had been sweet and gentle toward Qi Lin, Shang Jia knew her true nature—introverted, not one to engage much with others, and very selective with her friendships. The fact that she was helping someone so warmly was unusual.
"Is your friend a man or a woman?" Shang Jia asked, trying to sound nonchalant.
Chen Lili, sensing his curiosity, replied in a teasing tone, "We're just regular friends. What are you thinking? It's work time. I should go before anyone sees us."
With that, she continued toward the lab.
Watching her retreat, Shang Jia's expression grew serious. A hint of suspicion flickered in his eyes.
Shang Jia was the youngest deputy chief physician in Jiangcheng Central Hospital, just thirty years old. He was undoubtedly a rising star in the medical world.
He and Chen Lili both graduated from Jiangcheng University's medical school, where they first met. Shang Jia, as an outstanding alumnus, had returned to give a guest lecture, during which Chen Lili had joined him on stage as a student representative.
Over time, he developed feelings for her and began to pursue her, captivated by her beauty and intellect.
Thanks to his influence, Chen Lili had received several scholarships and completed her studies with excellent grades. He even arranged her transfer to Jiangcheng Central Hospital as a doctor. Despite hospital rules against office romances, few knew about their relationship, except for a select few, including Zhao Zhiren.
Zhao Zhiren had even commented on how it would be a pity to set Chen Lili up with Qi Lin because he knew she already had a boyfriend.
Thanks to Chen Lili's help, Qi Lin's test results came back quickly.
Shang Jia, feeling uneasy, took a deep breath and decided to follow Chen Lili to see what was going on.
"Mr. Qi Lin, your blood test and X-ray results are in," Chen Lili said with a smile as she re-entered the treatment room.
Qi Lin noticed her smile and felt reassured. "You're still calling me 'Mr. Qi Lin'?"
Chen Lili's face flushed slightly. "I... I don't know what else to call you."
Qi Lin laughed, "What year were you born?"
Without hesitation, Chen Lili answered, "August 31, 2000."
Qi Lin grinned, "Well, I was born on June 6, 1999. So I'm older than you. It wouldn't be too much for you to call me 'brother,' would it?"
Qi Lin's mischievous tone returned, but Chen Lili, instead of being offended, seemed pleased.
"Brother Lin~" she murmured shyly, biting her lip.
"Good. Now tell me how my injury is," Qi Lin teased.
"You're teasing me again," she muttered softly.
Chen Lili continued, "Luckily, the nail gun you were injured with was clean. No harmful substances were detected, and the X-ray shows that while there are puncture wounds in your palm, the bones and tendons are intact. It just needs to be disinfected and stitched."
Qi Lin sighed in relief.
The tomb robbers had at least spared him the horror of poisoned needles. Still, he didn't know how lucky he truly was—most people wouldn't have survived such an attack.
"Brother Lin, disinfecting and stitching the wound will be much more painful than drawing blood. Please bear with me," Chen Lili warned, preparing the suture tools.
Qi Lin frowned, "Aren't you going to use anesthesia?"
Chen Lili hesitated, "Local anesthesia won't be very effective. You'll still feel pain."
"It's not surgery, so no general anesthesia is needed," she added.
"Fine, just go ahead and sew it up. It's just a small injury. If I scream, I'm not your brother."
Chen Lili smiled and nodded, "Alright, here we go."
She slipped on sterile gloves, disinfected Qi Lin's wound, and began stitching it.
"Ah!" Qi Lin yelled as the needle pierced his skin.
Chen Lili burst into laughter. "Didn't you say you wouldn't scream? If you do, you're not my brother."
Qi Lin winced in pain, "I'm not really your brother. I'm your savior, remember? Seeing me in so much pain, shouldn't you find a way to ease it?"
Chen Lili laughed again.
Shang Jia had a calm demeanor, but Qi Lin's cheeky attitude was new to her. It was rare to meet someone so carefree, and his humor quickly eased the awkwardness between them.
As she stitched his wound, Chen Lili leaned down and gently blew on the injury to soothe the pain.
"Does that help?" she asked quietly.
Qi Lin, looking at her delicate face, replied, "It's much better now. If this is your kind of anesthesia, you should have used it earlier."
"Pfft," Chen Lili giggled.
Blowing on wounds couldn't possibly compare to anesthesia, but her soft breath did make the experience a little more bearable.
As she finished stitching the wound, a voice suddenly interrupted them.
"Lili! What are you doing?"
A furious voice filled the room.
