Chapter 2: Transmigrated. What!?

"Push!!! Push!!! Push!!!"

Marcus heard the voices, and he wondered, what was going on?

He smelled the unmistakable stench of blood and he felt strange. Anyway, his eyelids felt too heavy, but he still tried to open them.

When he managed to do so, the first thing he saw was a bloody vagina. He wanted to cringe in disgust. Was he in some kind of a nightmare? Then he felt himself being elevated.

"It's a prince! Tell King Cassius that the prince has been born!"

"Your highness, please wake up, the prince is here." Another woman said.

The queen did not respond. Then sobbing suddenly filled the room.

"Where is my son?" King Cassius said as he entered the room.

"your highness, the prince is here… but the queen…"

The king lamented the loss of his queen but was more excited to see his son that has been prophesized to have the power to become the next conqueror. He received the bundle containing his son carefully.

Marcus stared at the king who apparently was his new father. He wondered if he would insta-kill him for causing the death of his wife.

Cassius looked at his son staring back at him. Then he smirked.

"The prophecy must be correct. My son will definitely be the next conqueror! Give the rewards! From now on, let it be known that the crown prince of Militeia has been born, and his name shall be Cavil Alexander Louis!"

Marcus's first impression was what a heartless man, his wife just died, and he could still smirk? Then again, at least the man seems to not hate him. Lucky for him, he won't have to die as a baby. Who knows if he could get reincarnated again with his memory intact?

Then he heard the man speaking. Prophecy? conqueror? Crown prince? HA! Were those words really used for him? That would be fantastic. Then he heard his new name. Cavil Alexander Louis. Well, it did sound better than his previous name. But why does it sound familiar?

Anyway, he was too sleepy to think it through. So, as he was a baby, he quickly fell asleep.

"How is this possible? His highness is merely a 3-year-old kid, how can he already read and write? Who taught him?" James, the newly assigned private swordsmanship instructor of Cavil exclaimed in surprise.

Marcus, or let us just call him Cavil now, turned to look at the door. Who was that fool who dared disturb this prophesized crown prince's reading time? He laughed at his self for thinking that.

"Our Prince Cavil has actually learned all that by the age of 1." The royal butler, Luke, corrected. "Your highness, my apologies for disturbing your reading time. The King has instructed that you may start learning swordsmanship from today onwards. With me is Sir James Leonhart who has been honored to be your instructor. If you allow, may we enter?"

Cavil stared, truthfully speaking, he rather enjoyed being treated with such reverence. It has been more than 3 years since he realized that he has transmigrated.

When he regained consciousness on that fateful day that he was reborn, he immediately recalled why the name given to him seemed so familiar. At first, he could not believe it, but everything matches up.

The mother died upon birth, father the king, born a crown prince with a prophesy of being a future conqueror, exact same name, and all those things. Apparently, he transmigrated to the body of the ultimate villain in the novel 'the rise of a hero'.

Now, when he has come to terms to that, he tried to recall everything about the story. First, he thought of the character whose body he was thrusted in. Usually villains fall to two categories, the one who was born evil and just wants to be evil, and the one with a sob story.

In the novel, Prince Cavil Alexander Louis was the ultimate villain who did not really want to be a villain. However, due to his power-hungry father, he was driven to be just that. He was a pure innocent soul who was used and abused. Ah… really so sad. A typical villain under category number 2.

However, Marcus just smirked. How could he not? The character was a crown prince gifted with tremendous power. He would be a conqueror one day. How can he not like that? This is bound to be his adventure of a lifetime. He even wondered if he was such a good person in his previous life that he's given this opportunity.

Now, moving on the memory lane, he tried to recall the plot. The rise of a hero was a series which focused on Gary Tsu's quest to become the strongest superhuman in the planet and subsequently save it from those he deemed as villains.

Unluckily for Cavil, despite wanting to retire, his past kept chasing him. Also, the pig-headed hero, like in any series wanted to prove that he's the strongest. Not being able to defeat him on his own, he brought his group of friends to help him.

In the end, Cavil who was not in his peak anymore and just did not really want to fight, was killed by Gary with the help of his friends.

Of course, the plot did not move in that straight line, Cavil's past was only revealed when he was about to die. So, all the while, the readers, him included, did not know Cavil's sob story. So, all the while, they were cheering for his demise.

Truthfully, he was pissed when he finished the story. Why paint a half-baked villain like that? It made him think that Cavil should have been the protagonist instead.

Anyway, how long has he been contemplating? He suddenly remembered that Luke was still by the door. He blinked his eyes to escape from the daze he's been under and saw that Luke and his supposed instructor James were still in a bowing position.

"Rise. Enter." He said. Ah, truly he enjoyed his position. Unlike novel Cavil who was soft hearted and kind, him as Cavil truly fits being an antagonist. He's not doing it purposely really, but man, he's a crown prince. It's a delight to boss these people around.

"Thank you, your highness." Luke and James replied as they both straightened to approach him.
