As soon as the man walked into his room, he looked at the balcony door that was opened and furrowed his brows.
He walked to his balcony to close the door when his gaze landed on the room, right across from his in the main royal palace.
Was it just a coincidence that the room belonged to the girl he was suspicious about?
He stood on the balcony, observing her when he saw her moving in the room.
It was wrong. An Invasion of Privacy. But did he mind that? Of course, not. When it came to the royals and their protection, nothing was wrong.
Meanwhile, Katherine, who was in her own sweet bubble, moved along with the music going on in her head.
"Are you sure you can't play the music? You are a demonic system, for god's sake. You can't do this for me? Why so? Pretty please," Katherine puckered her lips.
The demonic system, which was long annoyed by the fact that the higher-ups weren't answering the questions it sent through the magical signals, sighed.
Tired of the girl's constant pestering, the demonic system finally placed the music that Katherine was humming, and the girl smiled.
"I knew you were falling for me too," Katherine smiled.
She walked to the balcony while swinging on the beats.
'There's a hoe in this house. How do I keep it in control? She wants your attention and looks like you're hard too, just like how she wants it. No. She is not shy. Going down on her ass, she is ready to suck the soul out of you...hmmm..yeah... Suck your soul and let you enter-' Katherine hummed loudly, unbothered by all the guards under the building who could hear it clearly.
The invisible demonic system that was flying in the air and looking at everyone's embarrassed expression pressed its lips into a thin line.
'Katherine, keep it low. You are not listening to the best music in the world for you to be singing it like that,' The demonic system felt more ashamed of her than the girl was.
"Why should I? This is my personal space? Besides Delilah was a great dancer and singer. It's not like anyone is listening to -" Katherine's gaze stopped at the palace in the distance where it almost felt like someone was standing and looking at her.
She blinked her eyes before rubbing them. She squinted her eyes to look more clearly.
Was it her mind playing tricks or was someone really there?
"Hey, is it just me or does that person look like that odd Mysterious man?" Katherine asked, and the demonic system slapped its forehead.
'That's because it's indeed him,' The Demonic system gritted its teeth.
Katherine paused in her place as soon as she heard that, heat creeping up her neck.
"I... There is no way he could've heard me from that far, right?" Katherine asked.
What was she talking about? They were werewolves for god's sake, and he was the King's secretary. Of course, he heard her. Katherine sighed.
"I can't have a moment of happiness without making a fool of Delilah, no?" Katherine whispered before shrugging as if it didn't bother her.
"Who cares? It's not like I am seducing anyone through my singing," Katherine said before she walked inside her room, continuing her happy little dance to keep her mood lifted.
The system shook its head at her. It was really getting hard to wonder if the girl would be able to accomplish the task.
The next day~~~
Katherine woke up early in the morning and went straight to the backyard of the royal palace where the training grounds of the soldiers were.
It was 3 in the morning, and she had asked the maid who was a little good to hear since last time about the training schedule of people.
The soldiers won't come out before 4 am.
Katherine tiptoed towards the swords area, her eyes beaming at the beautiful scabbards, her soft French fingers caressing the head of the wolf skull on one particular sword.
The demonic system looked at the gleam in her eyes. The girl was really in love with her spy job, wasn't she? It was really unfortunate that the higher-ups in the organization killed her to hide their dirty work behind those tables.
But then again, if that hadn't happened, how would have Katherine met her destiny? The demonic system shook its head at the maze of lies and truths surrounding this particular reincarnation that was opposed by the heavens but was brought down on by the gods of hell itself in the name of the moon goddess.
That conversation between the gods of hell when they selected Katherine's soul… The system shuddered at the memory.
'You have no idea what the wolf inside you is capable of,' The system thought as it looked at the careless girl.
"That's Prince Elwin's favorite sword," Someone murmured behind her, and Katherine shook in her place.
She turned around, her mind full of hundreds of questions that this man would ask her and she would have to answer because they hate her or something.
Katherine sighed.
Today was the first day of her training this weak body and she definitely didn't want to start it with humiliation.
"I wasn't trying to break something or pull a prank on anyone. I just wanted to warm up a little and -" Katherine started.
The man in front of her sighed.
"It's okay, Miss Delilah. I know those men don't exactly have good words to say to you, but many of us know that you aren't what they describe you as. It's just some nasty rumors about you spread in the area about you seducing -," The man paused, looking at her hands that immediately fisted.
"So, you were here to use something particular or just to warm up?" The man asked, and Katherine looked at him before shaking her head.
"Just a normal warm-up. You can continue your work. I will be fine," She took a few steps from the man.
"I am not here to exercise. I was on night duty and am returning. While passing I saw you," The man said, and Katherine nodded at him, making him leave.
'What is in the task center for the first day,' Katherine asked, getting straight to the point.
"Start with 4 laps of the royal palace," the demonic system told her.
"Just 4 laps? That's it? I will be able to do it in less than 40 minutes," Katherine scoffed.
She started walking, increasing her speed slowly and slowly.
After what felt like an eternity, but was only 5 minutes, she fell on the ground, tired as hell, her lungs giving out.
"What... *Gasp*... The... *Gasp*... Actual...*gasp... Hell?!" Katherine took deep breaths, her lungs feeling like they were burning from lack of oxygen.
It has been so long since she felt this kind of tiredness in her lungs and pain in her body. Was it when she had started training when she was little? Katherine couldn't even pinpoint it.
This body was wasted. No wonder everyone called Delilah weak and petite. There was no strength in her legs.
"I... I can't believe it. Didn't you say she was a good dancer?" Katherine asked, and the system was about to answer her, but before they could do that they heard a silent whisper at some distance before the sound of crunching leaves came, and Katherine furrowed her brows.
Someone was there, right?
But at this time?
Katherine quickly stood from her place and hid behind the sword's area. She quickly rubbed some bushes and wet soil on herself to hide the little scent she had.
"What is the stance on the Black Ops organization? Have they yielded or not?" Two men were walking towards the entrance of the forests, probably back from the night duty too.
"We don't know. Neither Prince Elwin nor the elder prince's secretary has said anything about the new ammunition machines. I heard that the machine was designed by someone from their Nocturnal team," The other man said, and Katherine's pupils dilated.
What machine were they talking about? No way would they…
